This video is beyond awesome! My grandfather retired from here and my father and his brother’s grew up in the Longhorn Village (Little Longhorn) where they moved the houses where the employees and their families lived. Thanks so much for this!
MY family moved to San Antonio in 1960The plant was still in operation at that time, 24 hours a day. You could see it for miles. At that time there wasn't much out there, but dairy farms. Actually We lived at the edge of town. Past our house nothing but open land. Now you have to go another 20 miles out to get out of town. Thanks for the video.
Man I hauled a ton (literally)of 18 wheeler loads of bulk cement outta Longhorn Cement to our Ready Mix concrete plants called Texas Ready Mix in South Austin and in North Austin back in the 70s and 80s. Kaiser Corp owned it all from Oakland, California. My shift started at 12 noon and I would usually run 5 loads a night. No traffic & no boss man. Lol perrrrrrrrfect 😂😊
Very nicely done! I flew my Mavic Pro over this same cement plant last year, but my video was not nearly as good as yours. Great job. Thanks for sharing. I live west of San Antonio in the hill country near Medina Lake.
Hey thanks for the kind words!

I explored this place once, there is tunnels and underground paths in this place… it’s huge
I have always wanted to explore this place! (Always been too scared) Had no idea of underground tunnels. So cool!
underground tunnels? how do you get to them?
@@cat-tj1xk the back side where the main gate is, if you follow the private road you’ll see that there’s tunnels that lead underneath
