- This week is a strange vlog as I'm stuck after a torrential downpour has set the re-opening of the river section so that me and Angel can get moving, so just an infill vlog to explain how RUclips works for me on my Narrowboat and how the algorithum and payments work after you get past the targets of 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours....

It reminds us of the important role that subscribing and hitting the "Like" button has in our support of channels like yours. As for the advertising, I watch RUclips on my desktop and don't get any ads.

Great vlog as always I understand more now about youtube so thanks for that love the playing on your gitar need more off that and last off all thank you thank you for not scranging begging for money it’s my pet hate if you got to beg for money to do a vlog then don’t they would not pay me to watch vlogs I do watch them as there are many bloggers that are very good but would not pay ya advertising I hate to I press skip every time stay safe mate

Just found your channel. Thank you for explaining the RUclips thing. My grandsons keep talking about creating a channel thinking they’ll get big money! I’m going to show them this video!! I always admire how boaters manage to find the time and are able, week after week, to put out their videos. Ian many thank yous for staying at it regardless of whether it is for your own use or to entertain others.
Over the last couple of years I have found that I have moments of "home sickness", for Britain, even though I have been around longer than you have been on earth. I have watched many different types of travel you tubes but they never seemed to help with the home sickness. When I discovered the world of narrow boats something changed. To the many narrow boat you tubers I send my sincere "thank yous" for reminding me of life back home.
Ian, your work has more purpose than you realize.

Another great vlog. You explains things really well and in layman's terms. So glad you haven't clicked the advertising button, it is annoying, but then some youtubers need that income, so I understand that. I will now start to press the like button more. I admit I'm one of the people that enjoy watching videos but never hit like. I now understand now important it is. Nice to see your channel growing, you deserve it to, hope it continues to grow.

Thanks so much for doing this vlog i spend around 12 hours a day watching you tube as my health isnt the best Your channel is so natural and the pictures etc you put on are amazing im so glad your doingbthe vlog for the right reasons family oh and congrats on grandchildren . There is so many channels that pop up now narrowboat channels about 5 a week but they are all only doing to fund the life i have a pension i claimed early due to ill health as a lump get taxed yearly i detest the freebies that some channels recieve and dont declare to the hmrc one channel got a 12k solar system free did a 5 min talk about never used and think it was sold on you tube your a honest nice guy and your channel is amazing thank you for being you 😊😊

@NarrowboatAngel thank you Ian I really appreciate it I do look forward to your vlogs tbh I've never taken time to read about channel bits and bobs I was very sad to read lost your wife I'm sure she would love what your doing and be pleased I've looked after my mother for last 5 years now she's 95 and as much as I love her life's not easy will my health failing been told I now have prostate and pancreatic cancer have saved as much as I can and hoped to move onto the cut after nearly 50 plus years of commercial fishing and boat building its great to see your living the dream sadly I doubt il get to live on water again thank you for great vlogs 😊
Yes it was 7 years ago last month since I lost Helen, it was something that led me to change my life and live for today as the wisest of us knows not when the clock must stop, long as you are getting happiness somewhere then you are ok, that’s all that matters. I know that looking after parents is difficult especially with your own health, but I know you miss them when they are gone..
