Nice to see a Fraser video with some respect to the Island and not flogging the crap out of the tracks and driving like a fool. Glad you enjoyed the place with the family.
Nice video mate, The GU us a weapon! Nice shirt too 😂😂 “I don’t know what’s wrong with you cruiser blokes” - Wearing a cruiser shirt hahaha love it 😍 🍻
As a kid this used to be our yearly family vacation destination. We would drive from Canberra all the way up and spend up to a week on the island. I remember dad and his friends had a 6x4 box trailer just to carry the beer supply. haha
Tiger sharks bullying bait fish is always fun to watch. My GQ had the auto hubs, the only time i was in 4wd and not locked was when i was on firetrails to the harder stuff. On sand, mud, rocks i would manually lock them. You can make the autos manual fairly easy by pulling one of the bits out of it, found the video on youtube and did that to mine after breaking a piece doing bearings.
I had a feeling it was tiger sharks, insane to watch on the drone, wouldn’t want to be out there swimming 😵 And good to know with the hubs! Definitely going to have to do that !
What a great vid! I always keep a spare hub for my GU, I have broke 3 and now carry a spare and always lock in when I need to be in 4wd. Don't be sorry for staying in a resort! Its a massive differnce to how good a trip is if your comfy. Looks like you have the best of both worlds, especially with the family in tow. Great video mate, can't wait to see whats next!
im 50 now...... but when i was 16 i was on Fraser...... and fished off the Maheno wreck..... a lot more superstructure back then...... at least 30 people fishing out........
V8 100 Series is the best beach rig in my opinion. I have an 06 model which spends 2-3 months on the island as we have properties there. So comfortable and capable. Have done extractors, 3" system pretty much straight piped as the resonators kept rusting off and Unichip, dyno tuned to 98 with throttle booster.
Gday, what an awesome few days away, good idea staying at a resort especially with a couple of young ones, if you can then why not, great episode mate, cheers
Wish I lived closer to K’gari, having just done K’gari end of last year and Moreton a couple years ago I found Moreton a lot quieter which was nice for relaxing and it had some great beach camping. K’gari though had alot more to do and explore, never realised how big it was, we didn’t even get to Ngkala rocks which I was spewing about ☹️ Both are bloody awesome though and should definitely be on any 4x4er’s trip list. Nice video mate 👍🏻
Love fraiser...only been there once by private boat...the kayaking 🛶 and diveing over the wrecks with sharks is incredable...but the 4wd looks so fun too..shall go once im set up.
Odd tip, We did a night bush walk, learnt that if you shine a torch across the bush and you get a shine back, it could be funnel web eyes. Didn't believe at 1st, and thought the ranger was taking the piss, but when I went to check it out, yep sure enough it was true. Have used this tip when camping near damp area's, Cape York was similar
Just finished doing Fraser and it’s my 3rd trip and still haven’t managed to make it to Ngala Rocks. Hopefully 4th trip lucky but watching your vid makes it look super worth it.
Looking at the long tail they are thresher sharks in close, couple of bull sharks hitting the bait pools and looking at some of the larger ones would not be surprised if were tigers.
Awesome trip mate, should really have that gas bottle somewhere outside of the vehicle. Possibly on the spare? Especially with the kiddies inside. Safe travels
To disengage your auto hubs, you need to reverse 1 metre so they can disengage read behind the sunvisor, it will tell you everything Love you, so keep them coming
Mate , being in a hotel with a young family isn't cheating , it's looking after the family and keeping the misso happy... Really enjoy your down to earth videos mate... Not trying to prove you're better than the next Joe blow.. Just Honest
Totaly agree...and as a mother of middle and teenagers id still like a proper bed toilet and shower...going 4wd dosnt mean you have to camp rat in a can style...nothing wrong with "glamping😂" better sleep means better next day..andno danger from wildlife.
We're regular attendees of K'gari. Now you know why. Have seen the sharks right up in the channels on the beach, makes you think about taking a dip, ha? Have seen the bait fish off of the western tip at sandy cape and when persued they head straight onto the sand (beach) then wait for a wave to refloat them. Easy bait gathering when that occurs not that I'm a fishing guy. Go in August and the whales just take all your attention away from anything else occuring, just love the place. Central Station is basically where loggers worked from, school etc for kids. Walgoogah Creek flows thru here and there is a board walk along it, so clear you don't believe it's got water in it, but the fast flow carries leaf litter and the occasional fish confirm the presence of water. Just prior to the walk there are trees specifically grown for ships masts way back when sailing ships were the go. They are smooth barked, straight as, excellent for purpose. Next visit, head to west coast, it's so awesome. Just so you know, there is a fenced camping area at Eli camping section suitable for kids, and an actual fenced camp with showers & flushing toilets run by National Parks and the camping fee is same as beach camping but hot shower is by coin slot. Moreton is not a patch on K'gari, ferry ride so friggin expensive, no access to resort, poor fauna & flora in comparison. Been to Morton once to experience it, been to K'gari every year since 2010, why, cause it is just superb, it's paradise, hence K'gari.
After editing the video I was informed it’s pronounced “Gurri” not K,Gari! 😅 sorry about that 🤘🫶
Nope, it's Fraser Island.
@@bentheguru4986100%....and if I hear the word MINT in this video that's a thumbs down!!
That’s mint 🫶
That what I was thinking at the start, like where’s this k gari place lol.
And then I hear you say the ship wreck and I’m like he’s at Fraser Island 😂

Loved the episode mate. I have been to Fraser so many times and I will never get sick of going there. Camping on Sandy Cape is my happy place.

The patrol looks so good cruising through the tracks
Cheers Jack!
Thank you for taking us camping 😉🩷
❤️
My S4 ST-L patrol has AX5 (Merlot Pearl/Metallic) which is basically the same colour as the cruiser.

Awesome info mate! Was unreal to see them!
Thats one good looking cruiser 😂
Pitty bout the bloke driving it hey.. 😆
Go hulk hubs for manual hubs straight bolt on, I run them with a front locker with no problems
Next time bring the family up and stay in a house at orchid beach... wink wink "Island time" 😉😂
Awesome trip mate, should really have that gas bottle somewhere outside of the vehicle. Possibly on the spare? Especially with the kiddies inside. Safe travels
Pretty special spot. Moving to Sunny Coast in Jan. Can't wait to hit up here and DI again 👌
It’s so nice up there, need to go back asap!
I’m aware this is a blunt question but Do you regret going a 4 cylinder with the 4j or do you think it was the right choice?
Why would having a 4 cylinder matter? It’s tuned over 200hp I think so that already beats a factory 200 series
To disengage your auto hubs, you need to reverse 1 metre so they can disengage read behind the sunvisor, it will tell you everything
Love you, so keep them coming
Awesome I’ll check that out, I actually had no idea! And glad you like the content 🤘
Looks like some lemon sharks feeding on that big bait ball
What battery box is that?
I’ve been there 5times once with my last hilux going again next year with my new hilux
Just flog the hubs of the gq, everyone changes from the gu autos to gq manuals for that exact reason my man
Nice to see you back mate .. GU looks mint ❤
Thanks legend!!

Epic content thanks for sharing
Gotta supercharge that V8 in a future ep! Add some whistle to the already epic sound.
We *saw* the wildest event
Thanks bro! Changed it up 🫶🫶
Can't go past Frazer! Banger
Looking sick mate! is the Patrol manual or auto?
She’s a built auto, Compushift tcm all done by wholesale automatics!
@@RoamLyfe I’m looking to get a patrol for my first car and these kind of videos set it for me. Love it

Fraser Island is easy to pronounce
There hunting. There pushing rhe bait fid in the shallow water
Tow strap on factory points the look on the Indian guys face says it all
Fraser island*
You pronounced Fraser wrong the whole video
I know 😅😅
It's actually pronounced Fraser Island
RUclipsrs getting told they will get cancelled or something?.
Looks like Fraser Island to me.
Daddy chill
Fraser island to me...
If it’s not referred to as Fraser Island, I’m not interested.
Go the Patrol ! congrats on your trip ! cool video ! ⛅🌅🌊🐟🏞️🌳🛻📹🤙😎
$600 is so cheap.
