Yeah he is the most (not counting Emperor) being in galaxy. I think… that the term „shell of his former self” means that his potential can never again be a God/Full potential (before armor).
While I have not read this comic series, part of me really feels like even though Vader directly did this to get back at the betrayal of the Hutt Grand Council this is also a wonderful example of Anakin seeping through because of his personal hate for the Hutts since Gardulla was the Hutt who sold him and his mom to Watto
Interestingly it would be Darth Vaders daughter Leia who would finish what he started by killing Jabba who was the last remaining member of the Hutt Grand Council.
I think Vader needs more revenge opportunities. They seem to calm him down and let him relax. It's just no good holding all that inside - sometimes he just needs that kind of release a force choke just can't provide.😊
I don't like that Vader and Luke face eachother and dogfight a second time (post ANH). I still like the general idea that Luke and Vader do not confront eachother again until the bunker scene on Endor. Beyond that, this explains Sly Moore's absence, explains why we don't see too many other Hutts around post-prequels, and also gives a good backstory that Boba Fett didn't have an easy trip getting back to Tatooine. Although, I would've liked to have seen Lando and Chewbacca in there since they were the ones who took off to rescue Han at the end of ESB (with Lando wearing Han's clothes).

Nice video but Vader killing a hut clan and then surviving a star destroyer explosion is not surprising at all, that was beyond easy for him, you are talking about vader, a nearly unstoppable sith juggernaut monster who wields unfathomable amounts of power and skill, alone he can wipe entire armies with complete ease, among being capable of doing basically anything you could ever imagine as well. Vader is one of the most powerful sith lords, force wielders to ever exist, he is also the greatest lightsaber duelist of all time. So again vader killing an entire clan and coming out of an exploded ship unscaved is way too easy for him. In a legends comic Vader used the force to bring a whole freaking castle down on top of himself, then he was buried for days in the rubble with his cybernetic armor completely destroyed, surviving on nothing but his hatred until he was found 2 days later by Sidious.

Whenever someone mentions a Star Wars/Alien crossover, I recommend they read Lords of the Sith and inform that Vader ,on his own, essentially commits genocide. (Don't forget that Sidious blatantly avoids using his force powers, claiming he wants no to know he has them. To me, Palpatine was pushing Vader like he always does.)

I always found the stories involve Han's body in carbonite recently to be so dumb. Why was this a story that was needed? No one ever wonder "GEE, JUST WHAT DID BOBA FETT DO BETWEEN EP5 AND EP6?" it's clear cut and obvious, he went straight to Jabba. As Vader killed almost the entire Council, there wasn't anyone left to do so. The only one left, Jabba, was on much better terms with the Empire and well before these events. Edit: as Jabba was also a beneficiary of the massacre, I'm sure he'd see no reason to attack anyways.

Yes, of course he would've, and even with the policies of the Hutts; their revenge would be suicidal; so either they put up with the massacre of their leaders, or their entire state dies off- as he'd be operating with the muscle of the empire backing him up in their extermination. Having been enslaved by them: he *absolutely* hated them, so the mere *moment* that he had the chance to punish them for their antics, even ones legally binding; there was no possible way for any of their leaders to remain alive- nor would he ever be punished, nor his agents: the Hutts, prideful as they were: would do either one of two things: surrender and die, or lose even more- their choices, but either way: their most serious laws would be broken with no possible punishments for that act; either way: their religion died that day, and rightly so! For what was sacred to them was what was destroyed, with no possible penalties! Interestingly, Vader being Vader, would be most prone to the blowback for his own sins- and that'd be the most devastating penalties for him. Ironically, it seemed that then and there: he was *incapable* of repenting; as he would see no purpose theretofore: he basically saw no reason to live but to inflict destruction and death: he'd lost all else that truly mattered to him, or so he believed. None of this happened. Not one bit of it. Fett took Solo straight to Jabba agter leaving Bespin. Luke got healed up, got a new hand, created a new sabre and went after Solo which is the beginning of Episode VI. None of this other bullshit happened. I won't accept Disney canon. I will always prefer the legends version in which jedi master Bol Chatak was Vader's first Jedi kill in his armor over the Disney Cannon version with Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a.
These two novels, Dark Lord Rise of Darth Vader and Lords of the Sith are my favorite books about Vader. But there is also a lot more out there about him that are really good as well.

Whenever someone mentions a Star Wars/Alien crossover, I recommend they read Lords of the Sith and inform that Vader ,on his own, essentially commits genocide. (Don't forget that Sidious blatantly avoids using his force powers, claiming he wants no to know he has them. To me, Palpatine was pushing Vader like he always does.)

I always found the stories involve Han's body in carbonite recently to be so dumb. Why was this a story that was needed? No one ever wonder "GEE, JUST WHAT DID BOBA FETT DO BETWEEN EP5 AND EP6?" it's clear cut and obvious, he went straight to Jabba.

As Vader killed almost the entire Council, there wasn't anyone left to do so. The only one left, Jabba, was on much better terms with the Empire and well before these events.
Edit: as Jabba was also a beneficiary of the massacre, I'm sure he'd see no reason to attack anyways.

Yes, of course he would've, and even with the policies of the Hutts; their revenge would be suicidal; so either they put up with the massacre of their leaders, or their entire state dies off- as he'd be operating with the muscle of the empire backing him up in their extermination.
Having been enslaved by them: he *absolutely* hated them, so the mere *moment* that he had the chance to punish them for their antics, even ones legally binding; there was no possible way for any of their leaders to remain alive- nor would he ever be punished, nor his agents: the Hutts, prideful as they were: would do either one of two things: surrender and die, or lose even more- their choices, but either way: their most serious laws would be broken with no possible punishments for that act; either way: their religion died that day, and rightly so!
For what was sacred to them was what was destroyed, with no possible penalties!
Interestingly, Vader being Vader, would be most prone to the blowback for his own sins- and that'd be the most devastating penalties for him. Ironically, it seemed that then and there: he was *incapable* of repenting; as he would see no purpose theretofore: he basically saw no reason to live but to inflict destruction and death: he'd lost all else that truly mattered to him, or so he believed. Bizarrely, it was his master revealing that his offspring may've survived that rekindled hope in him and enabled him to break free of the *literal* type of demonic possession by the dark side he was dealing with- but giving him most peculiarly an incentive to fight back against those evil aliens we refer to as fallen angels that were really running the dark side!

I think they made Vader OP too much and therefore made canon in between the movies inconsistent. Interesting story and all, but I also appreciate the EU where the Hutts still lived during the Vong War.
