In legends, Luke taught his students, that both light side and dark side powers, all came from the same source. It was their INTENT, which pushed them one way or another. This is what made his Jedi much more powerful than any other Jedi in the past. As long as you were using powers for the right reasons, you could handle them. When your intent was dark, it would pull you down into darkness. No revenge, no hatred. True balance was acquired.
We all know which side Jacen chose.
True balance would be neutral. Using powers for either right or wrong creates imbalance by pushing away the opposing side.
@noahblevins9569 the idea that apathy is good neutral is not necessarily a reasonable one.
@@unigaming9921 I agree. That is why they follow "the will of the force". So, they cant just sit back and do nothing most of the time.
I'm so done with this balance bullshit. It's all everyone can talk about. If balance was so strong, Revan would've roflstomped Vitiate.
“Luke was setting a new standard for the Jedi” at least until Disney became Supreme Chancellor
Yeah…. “Darth Mousius” himself…… Disney RUINED Star Wars…
Baahhahaaaa yup. I can't even watch that crap that Disney makes
"Did You Ever Hear The Tragedy Of Darth Disney The Woke?"
"The time has come Director... execute Order 66..."
@@MrAdamske baahhhaaaa yes lol
Partially what made Anakin Skywalker so powerful was his love and compassion for not only his loved ones but comrades as well, he cares about the well being of the clones especially those of the 501st while others saw them as expendable. All the traits that made Anakin a powerful being in the force and just an all round good person were past down to his son Luke.
I think that is the secret why the skywalkers were so powerfull
This story right here demonstrates beautifully why Disney's Star Wars Sequels failed Luke miserably. Luke has endless levels of compassion and this is shown in his use of the Force. He would never strike down anybody based on a bad feeling. The real Luke would explore this bad feeling and come to terms with it and heal it. Disney doesnt understand this fundamental cornerstone of Luke and Star Wars at all.
And now we have the Disney version of luke Skywalker, who fear, of his own nephew lead him to draw his blades on a sleeping helpless opponent, even for a minute 🫠
Yeah, messed up.
Seriously I don't get it luke who didn't kill Darth Vader who was a killer of thousands but a kid with some dark uncertain future ya i am gonna kill him.......... Disney logic is too great for simple mind like me
Legends Luke Skywalker was dope.
Is it a movie a book or show?
@@BigDaddyG1738 Legends? It's just a broad term for non canon Star Wars
It mostly refers to the books and comics I believe though I believe there are different timelines the books under I forget the name are all interconnected but don't think the comics are
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni Exactly, it's basically all the good stuff that for no good reason is non canon. Like Revan, why is he not canon? It makes no sense.
"In LEGENDS continuity, Luke Skywalker is known as the Jedi that got things right." In legends continuity...... in legends continuity.... 😭😭😭😭
It's canon now alot of people don't it's canon because of the temple of time
Rip what the actual series was named "Legacy of the force" Because that's the only thing that matters not "legends this legends that"
Disney turned him into a shadow of his former self. It truly upsets me and am glad Mark Hamill even agrees that Disney Luke is not his Luke Skywalker.
I never noticed Mace Windu have a Brother.
Then u dont know star wars?!? Sorry Im kidding I thought that was funny my bad
Mace Windu in: "Sith on a Ship."
Mace Windu: "I have had it with these motherfu**ing Sith on this motherf***ing ship! Hold on to your butts." 🙃
It's really sad that the Disney 304 ruined Luke Skywalker.
IMHO, Luke was the One. He brought balance to the Force...
I love your channel so much it's so cool
Love Luke and his use of the dark can also use the light. I think it does make hum powerful. Didn't know Mace had a brother
Always said, in The Expanded Universe at least, that Luke Skywalker wasn't just The Return of The Jedi. He was The Redemption of The Jedi.
I loved this so much.
I have always felt like Star Wars shines brightest when Vader and Anikan aren't involved and this proves it. The war between Sith and Jedi is over because we have grown beyond it. Luke makes everything we suffered through during the clone wars and all the thousands of years before seem so childish in the eyes of the force.
I agree with you on almost everything. and have been saying this for years. It's also. why I really cringe at all the "reverence" paid to Yoda. For 700 years, Yoda trained padawans, jedi, jedi masters, the whole Order was almost entirely his creation. It was Yoda who made the jedi the LEOs of the Republic. And by kidnapping recruits at such a young age, his jedi were all emotionally stunted, and trained to deny love, compassion, and "attachments."
Anankin spiraled into hate, shame and fear because there was no one he could talk to (besides Palpatine), all he got was Yoda's platitudes. The fall of the Jedi and the Republic can be laid at Yoda's feet too.
Luke and the Prodigal Knight are two of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars! They seem to have many ties in legends. Luke is the embodiment of Hope through the Star Wars lore ! I do appreciate these stories about Luke and others! Impressive!
Makes Luke seem almost complete opposite to what Disney has portrayed him to be in the new sagas.!!
And at loss for why didn't disney run with the legends variant of Luke and make an epic show showing what he actually built and became after the old movies.!!
if only we got this version of Luke not the milk drinking fearfull old man version
Man i learn so much from your videos 🎉
I do think that Luke in Legends is the closes to the prefect Jedi the shoulder have slowly evolved into after the Jedi Civil War. Now yes there are some down sides to giving into possitive emotions like it can open one to jelously but with consulting with friends more opened minded masters it can be overcome
this is what Luke was always meant to be. he understands how both the light and dark side are the force and what matters is the intent. no Jedi can compare to Luke at the height of his power. if the Jedi had been more understanding and patient with Anakin, maybe things would have been different but they refused to change their views which led to their destruction
6:52 I really love the philosophy of compassion towards darkness. Is that your ( @TheStupendousWave ) idea or it is lore thing? - Havent seen SW in AGES.. I just enjoy your philosphy talks
It is how Luke acts in the books. Which for most of us is the real canon.
I’m not a Star Wars expert at all, but compassion towards all-including Darkness and enemies or opponents-is a super Buddhist thing.
@@miahconnell23 will look into that more
Why is Mace Windu from tribe Windu named Windu, but Kar Vastor's from tribe Windu isn't named Windu?
His first name is Mace, Windu is is family name aka his last name
@@thebananaspeedruns9275 Yeah but why isn't Kar Vastor "Kar Windu" or "Kar Vastor's Windu" or something like that?
I think in the novel shatterpoint Vaster mention the reason briefly. it had something to do with the clan hierarchy and the fact that mace was chosen to be a Jedi. @@Lanwarder
@@DarktheRelentless Cool, thanks for the answer.
Luke was trying to find out #TDBank card holder just like Obi wan and Yoda...
Great video.
After hearing this story, I totally understand why Luke would consider killing his nephew…🙄
Happy Friday!
No! All luke did was relearn the ideals of the Je'daii. He became a lot of what they had felt was balance in the force. He restored that understanding of the force in a lot of ways by not fearing the dark side
Wish we could have seen this in the sequel trilogy instead of the garbage we received
Luke definitely was on his way to a true understanding of the Force. If anger, hate, sorrow, and misery were the path to the dark side, then joy, happiness, love, and compassion are the path to the light side. The Jedi Council was neutral in the Force at best.
Luke is the Greatest Jedi of all time and in my opinion it's obvious
and unpredictable.
This here is the real TRUTH!!
What movie did all this happen in?
6:49
Twas the greatest Jedi of all time
And then he decided to kill his nephew in his sleep....right Disney?
Seriously I don't get it luke who didn't kill Darth Vader who was a killer of thousands but a kid with some dark uncertain future ya i am gonna kill him.......... Disney logic is too great for simple mind like me
Yet Luke couldnt help Ben Solo and wanted to kill him. Thanks Rian!
Luke never tried. He did or did not.
So whatever he did was always of his own volition, his own doing, his own choices all the way through.
PS : Unyielding resolve has no conqueror - Omega Supreme ;)

This should’ve been told to Jake skywalker.
Day 428 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon

More Grey jedi please!
Could Luke have removed the metal a little at a time? I mean did he even try?
🦾
The epic live action we could actually get if p.o.s. disney wasn't involved. 😢
Can you tell me who in the blue hell named Luke Cockhopper grand Master Yoda and Obi-Wan both died before they could do it
He gave himself the title bro, he's THAT GUY.
Another reason why EU Luke will always be my favorite Jedi.
And Luke and Mara are the greatest “power couple”. 🥰

This makes the sequel Luke even more awful. Why attack Ben , why fear training Rey . Truth is Luke broke the power scale and was Balance personified. The closest to him were Reven and Gallon Merrick but both of them had fallen to the dark . Luke was a whole different level.
Because they were pushing an unhealthy narrative that is teaching a generation of young girls the wrong thing. They could have created an intriguing character that might have been palpatines path to the light and explored a story about redeeming even him. They could have had her learn this from Luke who redeemed his father. She could have communed with Annakin... learned from his mistakes learn what fueled Palpatines evil and became even greater than luke at redeeming / rescuing wayword users of the force. Instead they had to make her a Mary Sue because they couldn't communicate the message that you sometimes need the advice, guidance / training of someone older because that someone happened to be a man. It's bad optics for the girl boss message they wanted to send, and it ruined the story, and worse ruined the character and ruined the chance of doing something truly unique.
Everyone loses there way even the best of us finding it again makes u stronger wiser too
Perhaps but it makes absolutely no sense for Luke to redeem his father after everything and then just immediately give up on his nephew forever after just a vision doesn't fit his character at all
This is not LEGENDS. This is actually SW...not Disney Wars.
Luke was the Last Jedi, he defeated tow of the most powerful Sith Lords in existence, he save the Galaxy several times, he became a icon of Justice, and a Symbol of Hope. To the eyes of everyone in the Galaxy he was a Hero who can inspire hope to the innocent and fear to the worshippers of the the Darkness, but above all else he was what a Jedi should be, and no can denied that.
Until the disney nation attacked
Luke Skywalker from legends continuty is the greatest Jedi to ever lived 😊
Proof that the sequel trilogy didn't happen.
You have evolved as a channel, and i appreciate that. You dont repeat the same thing to extend your videos anymore, you give facts as good as star wars comics, star wars theory, and geetsly.
Im proud to see your channel and you grow so extensive
Facts dude used to repeat stuff to make videos longer. But as you said he's evolved. And I also respect that
This is the main difference between canon Luke and Luke from legends. One would try to kill his nephew out of fear when the latter fell to the dark side while the Luke from legends, the true hero of the force would show compassion and not be afraid of the dark side whatsoever because this Luke experienced what the dark side could do to someone and that anyone consumed by the dark side is redeemable.
They both experienced that in Episode 6. Rian just doesn't understand the character and this book does.
This, is the Luke Skywalker Disney robbed us of
Luke after ROTJ is the most fascinating character for me personally. Seeing the Jedi perfected is cool. These are my favorite videos of yours.
What if Luke was taught by Yoda how to do Tutaminus towards lightning, thunder, storms, blaster bolts, and lightsabers?
Love hearing the the stories o fthese characters, but sadly Disney has butchered much of them. This does give me the desire to get more of the SW books that are now considered Legends.
This is an insane story
Please do not ever stop. Thank you so much for all this content. You are a credit to the Star Wars community. 😊
Yet here Disney has the Champions and Grandmaster of the Light Side gets scared because his nephew has a strong connection to the Dark. I would’ve loved to see this version of Luke in live action. Not some grumpy, hopeless old man who dies when he projects an image of himself to pretend fight the same nephew
If Disney would have been smart, they would have followed the books called legends now. The would have knocked it out of the park. But instead, the executives though they knew better.....
Frag, the more I learn about the real Luke, the more I realize that Disney really, really did him dirty...
this video is exactly why i love legends luke and despises how he is potraied in cannon, atleast the 3 movies.
It's stories like this that break my heart. We get the true Luke Skywalker here then Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy destroyed the character. 😢
I want to hear more about the light side version of force fury, but Luke perfectly resembles the ideal Jedi in legends at least.
I love the legends so much. Luke is a great hero and these books do him justice.
i have no idea how they arent animating legends stories at the least....you could easily make some awesome shows...but then again this is disney we are talking about and they could screw up a wet dream
Only the newer generation of SW fans think Anakin or Yoda or Obi Wan were the strongest jedi. Luke's power in the force Trumps all of theirs
Luke deserves a purple lightsaber. Given that he has achieved balance
Simply fascinating, the mind of Luke Skywalker. The man that believed that those who follow the dark side and crave power are truly the weakest of them all!
Damn they 180 w Luke turned him into someone that runs away from the force not embrace that shit head on
I never knew mace windu had a brother
Count Disney, aka darth tedious
Until Disney got ahold of him
Like I said in your previous video dealing with Kar Vastor, Kar Vastor said that Luke was unique in his experience since unlike Jedi of the past, Luke didn't fear the dark side. I think it would because he grew up as a normal individual, allowing him to experience and deal with emotions that would draw Jedi to the dark side before he even began his Force training. That's something Jedi during the Prequel Era were generally unable to do because they were told to suppress all feelings.
This is so noble.Very.Luke's compassion is endless. He meet Vader,he knew dark side.He returned Vader to the light.Turning to dark side means loosing hope. Luke made Jedi ever more powerful.Revan created Jedi like this.He allowed Jedi to have relationship,to love,to marry. Pure love.Luke achieved what no Jedi achieved ever.Perfecy Jedi.We love Luke too..May the Force be with you too😊

Anybody else get this when they tried to post to facebook?
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
It's why I could watch Disney's sequels past the second movie. The way they portrayed Luke and Han angered me. Good thing i watched them for free. I would have done a better job at it.
I mean seriously. Disney killed the franchise with what they did with the so called new trilogy. Eu legends Luke was so much more. At one point he stood on the metaphorical cliff where the Jedi stopped and refused to pursue greater knowledge and truth in the force and life. He jumped without fear. I believe with his more open minded approach to the force as well as life made him greater and stronger than Anakin. Yes Anakin was powerful but his mental fortitude was nowhere near Luke's
Who else thinks after The Bad Batch series ends Disney should make an animated series about Luke skywalker in Tcw style
I wish disney would have made movies of Luke in these stories. Such good stories to be told but ignored because on identity politics
Yup! Luke is G.O.A.T Jedi! Period!
So Luke is like Jesus then haha
Luke had no fear of the dark so so he just tried killing Ben for the fun of it?
I miss having a proper Star Wars protagonist.
I wonder if Luke used the force to carry Anakin. He’s got to be really heavy with the mechanical parts
Not to any significant extent. Luke was still very weakened by Sidious' force lightning which is also why he continued to fall and struggle while supporting his father. Anakin was supporting some of his own weight as well even though both his suit and body were failing.
First
And?
Luke for the path to true balance in the force
24 DNA Strands and Holy Mitochondria from the Temple of the Kings.. Arya Bloodlines 🎉🎉
U don’t have a choice but to respect Luke, he’s the chosen son
1.48-1.50 "being gifted" means that you're born with natural ability. deciding on mindset isn't in-born at all, and the consequences of it can't make you "gifted" because they're a result of something that happened after you were born
you know what, glancing at other titles you have up, i finally subscribed to your channel.
interesting story, i actually found it... difficult at first, but interest over time. very good story. i even googled the book and added it to my next buy list when i splurge.
Bro, carvaster looking like Andrew Tate🤣
by allowing family in the order and what he also should do as well is to make everyone in the order family, will make sure the jedi won't fall into the dark side ( or rather don't fear it ) because it will make them second guess themselves in the sense that " oh i have others that need me as well, i can't give up now, my family waits for me "
and the aknowledgment that we all have a good and bad side of ourselves will lead to enlightenment, it does not mean you'll do bad thing just because you know your own dark side.. you need a dark side to survive and a light side to thrive.
