What a stunning place , thank you for these walks through the most beautiful English countryside, I love the silence just the natural sounds , some people think they’re making a travelogue and chatter through it, but you allow the viewer to become totally immersed in the surroundings, one question though , did you find out how old that gorgeous old church was? I live in Cornwall which is also beautiful but the Cotswolds are something else. Thank you Kevin for taking the time and trouble to share your walks.
Another great video Kevin, which certainly captured some history proof. At about 20.15 In the video, you showed what I believe is the manor house? As it must be one of the oldest buildings in the village. I assume this by the number of windows bricked up. This was down to the introduction of "the window tax", introduced in England and Wales in 1696 as it was considered "improper" to probe into a person's private income. The tax on windows was easy to impose as it was based on the rule that the more windows you had, due to the cost of glass being very expensive, the wealthier you were.
I'm from the states and absolutely love the walking tours you do of these villages. They are so beautiful. i'm 73 and i hope in my next lifetime i am born and live in a beautiful village like Snowshill in the Cotswolds. Thanks Kevin!
