I just purchased a small titanium sheet approx 4'x 4' by .5mm(100mm x 100mm x .5mm0 The shipping charges are outrageous and a bit difficult finding sellers with small sizes. Is the .5mm springy enough for a clamp? It cost about $11. Probably enough for 6-10 small clamps. Also, would you recommend the titanium for soldering small parts, such as jump rings?

Hi Andrew- have watched numerous episodes of your tube channel- I’m wanting to melt silver into ingot to put through jewellery mill- can I use any type of oil and do you have to let the let the cured borax dish set before using it. I’m just a beginner in melting silver so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Always thought Herkimer diamonds were "herkimer" because they are mined in Herkimer New York.

better to learn with bum equipment and learn well, than to spend all the money and time buying expensive equipment that requires less and less skill to use.

I do not mean that one should use bad equipment, it is obvious that so many of the expensive power tools are not necessary for a beginner who is not trying to mass produce his work. It is very gratifying to improvise with the few simple tools, and to maintain them and modify them as the skill level increases which happens on a daily basis. I do appreciate your tips on using and moding tools, such as the burnishers video, fortunately now I have bench grinder and purchased a Foredom pendant motor SR and foregoing the quick-release I got the setup for under $100, the handpiece is okay, I can always upgrade in a year or two if I find it makes enough of a difference.Having a bit of trouble refilling the Dremel torch i bought, and will annoy a salesman at local hardware to help me figure out replacement butane before I replace the torch.
