    Between you and Kev Talbot I cannot get enough of your videos! Raz you inspired me to build my speed car! I’ve started with a carbon / alloy TT01 chassis with a hobbywing wing max10 esc and motor combo and slowly been tightening the car up and adding aero to it while using a Mercedes CLK GTR body where I’ve then 3D printed a air intake box that fits over my twin cooling fans and has a real working air intake from the roof scoop of the body shell

    With this number of motors it may be interesting to see if there is a way to sync the motors in a more precise way. They are all sensored right? How cool would it be if there was a control module that regulates all esc's at the same time for perfectly aligned timing

    • @endosrc
      @endosrc 2 года назад +1

      Probably depends on cable length. Unless raz can get everything placed at the perfect distance, I’m not sure if it’s possible to get them to sync. My vision is the longer the cable from the receiver to the esc, the more the delay is. U gotta think, first it has to wirelessly send a connection from the transmitter to the receiver, then the receiver has to send the power through both the Y leads; then the esc has to process it, then the esc has to send that to the motor; then depending on if raz uses direct drive, or a pinion, still it has to go through the slop of the pinion, then to the spur, spur sends power to transfer case, then it divides it to the driveshafts keep in mind those have a little bit of slop in to them, then the drive pins have to spin the hexes, the hexes spin the wheels, THEN after all that the car gets power. So I’m my opinion, no matter what setup he uses, there will probably be about a half second of delay from the time the trigger is pulled, to the time the car moves. Servos are fine tho, cuz it’s a lot less complex. So yeah that’s my take on it. Could be completely wrong but hey I gave it a shot

    • @StefsEngineering
      @StefsEngineering 2 года назад +2

      @@endosrc Good point but I didn't mean something like a flightcontroller in the open loop system between the reciever and esc's but on the closed loop end where the esc's selfregulate based on the sensor measurement input.

    Question for anyone: I have a kraton 6s exb (running on 8s, locked center diff). Problem is I've had an issue with either the front or rear diffs for a while where it clicks, is loud, and saps power. I can't figure out how to fix it. I've had all the diffs apart many times and there's no visable damage. Is it a terrible idea to just lock all the diffs? I don't race, I just bash it really hard. Appreciate any help!

  • @StefsEngineering
    @StefsEngineering 2 года назад +4

    I've been thinking about this car a bit more and wonder if you need thrust bearings or angular contact bearings in the diffs. It may not be a bad idea considering the enormous forces these 4 motors combined will put out The only issue with angluar contact bearings is minimum size. They are at least 10mm id/30mm od. Thrust bearings are widely available for rc because of the model helicopters.
