Its been 8 months since I got my vx2000 and PowerPlay and I still cant thank you enough for saving me from having to deal with tapes and firewire recorders and all that kinda stuff!

What do you do about the aspect ratio? When I try recording in SD 4:3, its stretches the image out to 16:9, and cuts off bits of top and bottom of frame.
@@crystalcatalog yes actually, I saw later he mentions if you put it in premiere and “interpret footage” as dvtape it will correctly auto resize the aspect ratio, I think also if you have video editing software, you can manually stretch the image vertically and horizontally as needed to mimic what you want. You can reference your preferred aspect ratio clip in the timeline, put the immersion clip over it, lower opacity, and stretch both ways til it accurately lines up with your preferred clip. Put back to full opacity and delete your references and your done. Hope that helps!

I got my powerplay but I've noticed a huge quality difference between tapes and the powerplay. I know that the RCA connection is not supposed to be as good looking but compared to videos like this showing it off mine looks pretty awful. If you have any tips lmk.

Thanks man, the advantage is the frame rate (for slowmos) and the codec. It also used to be cheaper than the digitnow when it was more widely available!

Have you managed to find another good solution? Since the powerplay is sold out. Seen a new digitnow with large screen, no buttons........seen it?
I know this video is old, but at 4:37 I believe you discovered the "hack" that I accidentally discovered years ago with TRS connectors and that is if you are using a jack with a different number of rings than the plug you can get away with only plugging it in a certain distance, assuming everything else is in your favor on the two circuits.. Glad it works for you, but you probably just need a TRRRS, TRS, or a cable with the wires going to the right positions (of tip, ring, sleeve locations) to solve the problem. There would be several ways to fix it, really, including adaptors. While it still technically works using your spacer, you are probably missing stereo audio or a proper ground that introduces hum or something. Anyway, cheers.

I just got the power play but i get this loud buzzing noise on clips, idk if it the wires they gave me are bad or if it’s the connection jacks. The audio was fine when i was using the clearclick so i don’t think it’s coming from the GL2

The reason the AV cable doesn't work is that the FPV goggles that the PowerPlay is designed to work with have a non-standard pinout. If you search for Fat Shark AV cable, you might find what you want. Or this one has worked for me in the past: 3.5mm to RCA, Qaoquda 90 Degree Angle 3.5mm 1/8" TRRS Stereo Pulg Male to 3 RCA Female Jack Adapter Cable-6 inch I'm leaving off the link in case it triggers spam protection. For some reason, when I plug in the cords, switch the yellow and white plugs, and plug in the AV into the powerplay, my footage won't show up correctly on the sony camcorder. However, it works fine for my GL2
need some tips cause i have been recording on my sd card it can playback the file after recording but when plugging the sd card into my computer all the files just become unreadable in the pc and even when placed back on the powerplay
I use a ccd trv-16 camcorder and it only has the yellow and white video and audio plugs and not a video/audio plug. I was wondering if a headphone jack to rca splitter would work if not could you recommend some alternatives?
I'm not sure if it is an issue with the Power Play or my computer but all the footage I export stretches out into 3:2 aspect ratio rather than 4:3. It is easy to compress it back to 4:3 but is very time consuming. I was wondering if you knew a way around this?

I get the retro thing but the interlacing flaw isn't part of the retro. Look at any static image and move frame by frame and you'll see the image jumping up and down. Even on youtube you can pause it and use the comma and period keys to move one frame at a time and watch it bob up and down. It's always there, just not as obvious when the camera is always moving.
To get round that issue with footage from the PowerPlay I re-interlace it, then 'properly' deinterlace the footage using QTGMC, a very good script for Avisynth. See my results: ruclips.net/video/8OSMTAJt-Ak/видео.html

I have 3 TRV16E's which I am very blessed to have But unfortunately all of them have run into the same issue with the tape heads giving me dogshit playback that is unbearable to watch.. i was about to pay for them to get serviced, but honestly after years of using tapes, i think its time to put them to rest... i just ran out of blank tapes, so maybe its a sign 🤔

Hi! My ImmersionRC PowerPlay discharges very quickly, like it loses 10% in 3 seconds while the lights showed that it was fully charged and that the batteries are new. Any solutions? (I ordered new batteries because mine were just 1000mah idk if it will help)

Hey, I use the clearclick recorder and I feel like the footage looks way more compressed, when compared to the powerplay... Is there a way around this? I can't buy the powerplay anywhere where I live. I also have a crappy mini dvr recorder from aliexpress, that just spits out glitchy footage with heavy white noise.
Question: when the powerplay records does it force a certain fps? For example if I have a camcorder that has 24p will the powerplay also record in 24p natively? Or will it ignore the camera setting and record in 30/60 fps? Thank you
I purchased the 3.5mm rca cable as well as the 3D printed spacer linked in the bio but it seems like the 3.5mm cable doesn’t fit. I have to hold the cable out from the spacer just a hair and when I move while recording the video breaks up. I was wondering if anyone would know of a rca cable that fits! Thank you
i converted my DVX 100 and i had to plug the red av cable into the yellow hole and vice versa. i also have a friend who converted his vx and he has it hooked up with an RCA cable that has gold tips rather than silver and he can plug his jack all the way into his powerplay.

Will flat top 18500 batteries work? Or does it need to have the tops to fit in? Link directs me to the ones with tops but in the video it’s flat tops. Does it matter which ones I order?
Just wanted to confirm---the Immersion has no speaker right? During playblack of recorded footage on the Immersion RC device, I hear no sound, and am unable to figure out how to turn on sound. On the computer, I can hear the sound from the recorded video.

I tried to change some settings but am unable to get the footage unstretched with the black bars on the side. In project settings I also made sure the frame size is 720x480, but still stretched, and no black borders. Any ideas how I can fix this?
Please help. I just got my immersiverc and I can't get it to power on. I've tried holding the button as you said in the video. A single blue light comes on but nothing pops up on the screen. What am I doing wrong? Also ps thanks for the awesome video!

It's just a 3.5mm-3.5mm AV cable, unfortunately there's not any that will work without some kind of spacer to keep it in the right place afaik

It's 60fps, unfortunately it's mono audio but high quality nonetheless. The 30fps DVRs skip frames so they're useless for slowmo

I really would like to know a cheapest and good dvr device that work as good as the powerplay
Hello. Is it possible to play the recorded video on my iPhone with this?
Question: when the powerplay records does it force a certain fps? For example if I have a camcorder that has 24p will the powerplay also record in 24p natively? Or will it ignore the camera setting and record in 30/60 fps? Thank you

do you have to convert from square to dv? is dv just more optional/clearer?
It'll just be slightly squished, so if it doesn't bother you then you can leave it

I purchased the 3.5mm rca cable as well as the 3D printed spacer linked in the bio but it seems like the 3.5mm cable doesn’t fit. I have to hold the cable out from the spacer just a hair and when I move while recording the video breaks up. I was wondering if anyone would know of a rca cable that fits! Thank you
i converted my DVX 100 and i had to plug the red av cable into the yellow hole and vice versa. i also have a friend who converted his vx and he has it hooked up with an RCA cable that has gold tips rather than silver and he can plug his jack all the way into his powerplay.

Will flat top 18500 batteries work? Or does it need to have the tops to fit in? Link directs me to the ones with tops but in the video it’s flat tops. Does it matter which ones I order?
Probs be alright with either, the battery tabs have some flex in them

Just wanted to confirm---the Immersion has no speaker right? During playblack of recorded footage on the Immersion RC device, I hear no sound, and am unable to figure out how to turn on sound. On the computer, I can hear the sound from the recorded video.

@@NEONAIRSHIP Thanks!! On sony vegas, when I transfer the VX1 footage, it looks like it is stretched. I tried to change some settings but am unable to get the footage unstretched with the black bars on the side. In project settings I also made sure the frame size is 720x480, but still stretched, and no black borders. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Please help. I just got my immersiverc and I can't get it to power on. I've tried holding the button as you said in the video. A single blue light comes on but nothing pops up on the screen. What am I doing wrong? Also ps thanks for the awesome video!

If i dont have the cord for the trv can i use the one for the vx1000 on the trv
