Great sound from both bands. JSU had the wattage and numbers. Played two familiar AAMU tracks lol but JSU did great. AAMU was very surprising to me with that size👀. They sound great and had more power than the size looked. If they had those 2019 numbers at least, I think the battle would've been evenly matched in my opinion. Overall, great 5th from both💪❤

Umm so this clip told you they had trumpets? The only selection you heard them was the arrangement where the upperbrass came in without the rest of the ensemble. This is def a down year for JSU.

For what it’s worth that Mandalorian was nice. Jackson is really just too much this year. When they revealed their massive size (pause) it was clear with a nice book they would be a force. Oh lord they’re playing “I can’t help it” on A&M homecoming 🥶🥶
JSU was definitely more consistent throughout the battle. To me the best song was still “love calls” for aamu that song is nice. And I actually like both schools versions of “vaccine”……. Aamu for they size sounded well. And JSU definitely got some power on em. Kudos to both
That’s the same thing I told folks with the Dega vs JSU battle. These bands sound good but you can hear the difference when it comes to playing top bands like JSU and SU… they simply sound more collegiate, cohesive, and polished.

At 20:00 I love how JSU bones are holding the whole notes over the bar. Makes the band sound obese af. They’ve been doing that a lot this season, GOOD STUFF!!! No breaks in the sound like most choppy trombone sections that would have taken a breath after every whole note in that phrase. Good stuff bones

What happened to A&M? What happened to the attitude? Boom has better arrangements and pushing watts while doing it. Old A&M would’ve never let JSU run back to back songs on them. They sound decent, no attitude.
Old A&M didn’t play as well as this current one does, not with the level of control balance, tone quality and playing in tune consistently like this one does… also the new Lovely Day is MUCH better than that mess of an old one.

I preferred AAMU overall sound, JSU had the power. Neither band had any wow factor. I felt like the best selection was the ballad by AAMU but it's lost its effect, it's like the arrangement was too long and drawn out.
The football team already put a beating on them and the Boom come in right after with the knockout! 😂 A&M sounded decent but the Boom wasn’t hearing that!

Shit like a Welterweight fighting a heavyweight in terms of size, yet AAMU had wonderful arrangements, sound for their size. Lets say hypotheticallly, you take away the raw power and imagine JSU has the same volume as AAMU, is JSU still the winner for you? For me it's a close win for AAMU here
You basically confirmed that JSU won this battle. I’m not sure if you noticed that or not. A battle is not about “what if” but it’s about what is being presented in the present moment. You can’t make statements like “take away JSU’s raw power, and size, etc.”

I feel like we need to start judging bands the same way because no matter how hard a 120 member band pushes, they wont ever be able to produce the same sound a 300 member band can; it's scientifically impossible. So boxing has pound for pound lists where they take the best fighters from each weight class and say "hypothetically if they were all the same size, these are the best fighters" nd that's what I'm saying here. On some pound for pound shit, A&M wins this one. Can ya dig?
