Is it possible to just have the sl-fx display a single colour only? If I wanted green all the time ? Not just changing between colours. I thinking that I could possibly use this instead of my SL-300 headlight also. Set it to white. When I ride at night 90% of the ride is done in well lit street light streets, I dont need a headlight to see where im going. But I DO need a front light that Is way more visible from the sides than what the SL-300/200/1000 offer. So cars pulling into the street im going on can clearly see me. I notice even with lights front and rear my side profile is hard to see at night.
Great question! Yes, you can set the SL-FX to any single color including white. Sounds like it could be a great alternative for you. The LED's facing in every direction allow for a tons of mounting possibilities!
I had a set of Board Blazers on my Meepo board (emphasis on ‘had’). I want to point out that the problem with the board blazers isn’t the adhesive mount nor the use of button batteries - those are almost forgivable based on the fact the creator designed those lights years (maybe decades) ago. The problem is the overall design - with a plastic thread, like a bottle cap, to open/close and turn on/off without some sort of locking mechanism, they’re bound to unscrew themselves from the large amount of vibration from the board. All my adhesive mounts with the base plastic piece are still well mounted, but all my lights were lost in the streets within the first week of use. All that to say, thank you for coming up with a new solution, Shredlights. It’s about time someone came up with something utilizing current technology (seriously, button batteries??)
Did y'all really measure brightness by the amount of LEDs? It's not that difficult to make a really clean looking RGB strip setup down both sides of the underside of the board with a decent set of 5050 LEDs and a rechargable lithium battery pack. With the LED strip I don't think y'all gave a super fair comparison to. Especially by not getting comparably priced products. A $30 RGB strip with individually addressable 5050 LEDs and a $20 10,000 mah power pack is a lot different then the $10 strip you compared your $50 product to. It will also last a lot longer battery wise. Also did you measure the weight of it without the base attachment and compare that?
Thanks for the feedback! Measuring the LED's was simple and easy way to see the difference between lights. The point of this video was to compare more "out of the box" solutions which is why I went for the pre-made battery pack. As I said in the video, there are other ways to do the RGB strips that can work great, but it takes more DIY effort. We measured the weight of all 3 lights to show the difference in battery weights. The sticky mount adds another 12 grams to the SL-FX.
I been waiting for this, I tried LED strips on my Exway X1 pro and the battery pack always came off even with crazy glue, due to how bad the streets I roll on are, I'm hype to try a few on my board
Features like USB-C charging, IPX7 waterproofing and universal mounting take time to design, develop and test in addition to increasing the manufacturing costs. Put all of that in one tiny package, and it's gonna be an awesome light but it comes at a price. It has a 1 year warranty in case anything does happen, which is hard to find in other RGB lights out there. But hey, no worries if it's not for you!
These are FRESH!!! Love the new addition to the shredlights family.
Love the way Shredlights keep bringing awesome new light solutions! Can't wait to get some of these 😍
Thanks Tim! What color are you rocking first?!

Does the FX fit in that handle recess on the xr front underside?
