    This video is encouraging. Thanks for posting. Thanks to you, Jake, I just got down to -5.50 diopter contact lenses in both eyes this week, and I’m seeing great with them. I started my Endmyopia journey a little over 10 months ago at -7.50 diopter contact lenses. That’s 2 WHOLE DIOPTERS in just 10 months. I’m appreciating this lower diopter level and also looking forward to continued improvement...all the way back to 20/20 or better. 😊

    Hoping to one day be one of your 20/20 stories. Glad to have an optometrist who is supporting my attempts to improve. Currently at an official -2.25 in both eyes, down almost a whole diopter despite having a 40 hour a week job on a computer and doing heavy detail work. Thank you for sharing your method!

    Thank you for trying, but I didn't hear one useful bit of information, and your constant rocking back and forth made me dizzy. But you are very nice to try to help.

    Any tips on staying motivated? I have low myopia (I think I was between 1 to 2 diopters in both eyes when I got tested a couple years ago). I don't really ever wear my glasses so I've kind of lost my motivation to get to 20/20. What did you do when you were in the last couple of diopters to keep pushing?
    Also, where are you living right now? That looks like Myanmar to me. Is that correct?

    Nearsighted, doctor said best she could do is 20/40 yet failed to read the 20/40 wall chart during the DMV test. Then DMV tester put me on the Optec 1000 machine and pass the test, could read every letter clearly. How come one method failed the other passed.

    So, I've started wearing glasses when I was about 10. And now I am 13, my eyes are at about 20/600. I rarely wear my glasses nowadays, is that a good thing?

    How do you make out that Bates does not address causality? I just wonder if you really understand Bates. It is true that a lot of myopes who try Bates do not get back to 20/20, but this is for the same reasons you're talking about - they don't stick with it. Further, if you become familiar with Bates, you find that even without changing your structural myopia, you can functionally improve focus, albeit temporarily, by four diopters or more. I just want to say there is a lot more to Bates than you are giving him credit for.

      @23100Battlefield 7 лет назад

      Bates had a faulty image of psychology. He thought the extraocular muscles regulated axial length with physical strain. This isn't true, we know understand that it is the intraocular muscles that change focus and things like stimulus, defocus, lighting, chromatic aberration, and genetics that change it permanently

    If my eyes went to -3 and -2.5 I would be happy. Right now I'm -6 and -5.5. I got my first glasses at 10 but hardly wore glasses until I was 17. My dad kept saying you better wear these glasses or your vision will get worst. I got contacts at 18 which were -3.75. I figured maybe if I wore these all the time my eyes wont get any worse. Man was I wrong.

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  6 лет назад

      It'll take a while, but you can absolutely get to -3. Likely to -5 in a matter of 90 days or less, and from there a diopter less a year would be pretty reasonable. ;)

    • @KentPetersonmoney
      @KentPetersonmoney 6 лет назад

      Jake Steiner so it would take 5 years for me to get to 20/20

    • @luiscortes4651
      @luiscortes4651 6 лет назад

      Kent Peterson if you probably did no close up every day it would probably be in 1 year you would get rid of 2 diopter or more when your highly myopic it's easier to get rid of myopia

      find the active focus - where some text in a book begins to blur, and read at the point of blur. try to improve 1mm per week.

    • @Muzicboy3
      @Muzicboy3 7 лет назад +4

      keep your ciliary from locking up as much as possible, if it does lock up go outside for about 1hour - 1.5 hours to get distance vision in. Maybe like take a walk and look at varying distances because that allows the muscle to contract and then expand over and over again which relaxes it. (being that it is tensed when you are doing close up work like reading a book). our eyes are designed to stay in that tensed state for long periods of time or they begin to cramp up and then you have ciliary spasm going on. So basically its just trying to keep the ciliary muscle from locking up and doing active focus ( looking at something beyond a point where something is blurry and then clearing it up) makes a ton of sense once you do active focus and realize your vision can allow you to see better than what you naturally see when you actively gain somewhat control of the muscle. and you reduce lens slowly, going down little by little with a prescription that allows you to see pretty well but just not 20/20. you need a little bit of a blur so that you can challenge your eyes by doing active focus and clearing things up
