I very much agree that we could have a society that isn't so disabling for disabled people. Brb adding "disability only exists within the context of an environment" to my journal and notes

I love this, it's very interesting. Vampires were always my favorite non-human creature and they can be read as neurodivergent too: the have sensory issues regarding light, sound and food (samefoods and aversion), they wear clothes that are dated of considered weird, they need to mask and charm and glamour, they are close to animals, they struggle with autorithy, they have favorite people, huge collectors of stuff, coded queer, they need a safe space to slumber :)

You talked about how dyslexia and dysgraphia weren't recognised conditions in a society which didn't expect near universal literacy.
I think a lot of the traits of ADHD (and some traits of autism) wouldn't have been recognised by society in the past because people weren't being coerced into spending enormous amounts of time in education sitting still, being lectured, working in an office job, staying indoors all day.
Most people were farmers, fishers, herders, those are professions with very low barriers to entry for people with intellectual impairments.
Who knows? A hunter with ADHD may be more effective at hunting than neurotypical people because their attention shifts so easily and quickly, they may be able to have more awareness of different noises and sights in a forest while hunting.
In a time before watches when appointments were less common and less exact it would have been easier to be someone who struggles with executive function and time management. Being 5 minutes late isn't a concept that would have existed in the society in the past, I think if two people wanted to meet tomorrow at a certain time and place they would say "Lets meet in the village green after lunch", with a flexible + or - 1 hour time period to meet up in.
There wouldn't have been consequences for turning up somewhere 5 minutes late, when today 2 minutes can mean the difference between catching your train, submitting your online assignment, being able to enter a fast food restaurant before closing time.
All this is to say, that while life in the pre industrial past may have been more physically demanding, I am sure that it was much less demanding on our executive functioning skills

I think that is some good insight, however I think a lot of it also comes down to the fact that most jobs in the present are unfulfilling bullsh1t, the nature of having your productive efforts managed (and thus controlled) for someone else as opposed to being exchanged on your terms (especially in a corporate setting), inflation driving up the costs of living and draining our savings thus making us work longer and more often than we should have to, and the entrenched state hindering opportunities for entrepreneurship, trades, and independent production.
This has all existed since the beginning of industrialization and even somewhat before, it has just gotten worse with more corporatization, occupational licensing, zoning laws, redundant unnecessary building codes, food tyranny, and worst of all central banking
The unholy alliance of state and corporatacracy is a match made in the most depraved pits of the underworld

Thank you for such a wonderful video! I know we've always existed, but now you really have me thinking about it. Excited to learn more!
You mentioned we can live in a way that is more naturally accomodating to Autistic people, and I really agree.
I'm planning on building a small permaculture co-op with a few neurodivergent families and elders where we have a self-contained and self-sustainable "village" that offers a quiet, natural setting with systems that are self regenerating like food forests or earthship homes, where you can grow food, regulate building temps year round just by orientation to the sun and hot/cold mass.
I want to share the work load of building the farm and also be inspired by fellow creative artists to live in harmony with the earth, doing what I love, with people who really understand me. Then I want to help others do the same ♡

The way you present information is digestible, easy to understand and makes me more interested in pursuing the topic further! I'm surprised you don't have more views or subscribers. It took months of me going down the autism youtube rabbit-hole before you came up in my recommended feed, but I find you're one of the easiest people to listen to on this topic.

I have an ancestor who was accused of being a witch (near Salem) and died in prison and I often wonder if she was autistic or otherwise neurodivergent. Also I SO would have been considered a changeling - I apparently never slept, needed a lot more food than most kids, and talked early (that one probably hurt my autism diagnosis prospects, but that was mostly shut down because I wasn't a boy) and there were a couple of other reasons I thought of that made me really resonate with it.

Oh oh and my dad is autistic but he grew up on a farm and was considered just quiet - his autism is very internalized though. But I wonder if he grew up around more people in a city or suburb if it would have been more "obvious" or whatever

    Greetings, Autistic Lesbian.
    I am Autistic Christian.
I believe I have found the answer to the Autistic and Schizophrenic question, in the book of Genesis, namely, in the genetic origins of the people who are left alive today, after the consequences of Noah's curse on Canaan.
I believe that because Canaan was born of Noah's wife, with Ham (Noah's son) as his father, Noah cursed Canaan to be a servant of servants to Hams two brothers, Shem and Japheth.
Judging from the table of nations, and assuming that all ancient genetic information is after the flood (because DNA would not survive the conditions of intense heat and pressure required for fossilisation) I have arrived at the conclusion that Neanderthals were from the wife of Japheth son of Noah, Denisovans were from the wife of Shem son of Noah, and our species, is descended from Ham.
I believe, that Canaan was an atomically modern human population that was made into the servant of servants, for Shem and Japheth.
A servant of a servant is a servants wife, and comparison of modern genetic data with that of Neanderthal DNA, reveals that the only survivors of this inter-species hybridisation in the present day, are descended from female offspring of the unions of male Neanderthal and Denisovan, and female modern humans.
This suggests that there was a problem with the male offspring.
    Noah says in the curse:
    May God ENLARGE Japheth.
It has been observed that interspecies hybrids tend to be categorically larger than either of their parent species, especially with male offspring, who would not pass through the birth canal, and would require cesarean, most likely killing the mother.
Modern human brain stem cells have been engineered to match those of Neanderthals genetically with CRISPR, and have observed through sensing electrical impulse patterns and analysing the structure of the organoid, a heavy correlation with Autistic and Schizophrenic brain growth and signalling patterns.
I believe, that there were violent giants who as they grew, resigned to the necessity of eating people, as megafauna began to disappear in the bleak climatic conditions around the time of the Neanderthal extinction.
It was at this same time, that a more Autistic stone tool manufacturing method begins to be observed in the archeological record.
The advent of archery would definitely turn the tables in the conflicts between modern humans and these giants (who are present in almost every mythical tradition as violent threats).

I'm tired now, also, the requirement for cesarean is specifically for anatomically modern human female, male Neanderthal/Denisovan offspring.
      Side note:
Brain size doesn't correlate with average intelligence.
It correlates with average violent tendencies.
However, it may correlate with standard deviation from the average.
This is observed in the male female dichotomy in modern humans, with male and female average intelligence remaining equal, however with males (larger brains) producing more low AND high IQ individuals, and also being much more violent.

      Greetings Shifty Brocolly
I think you got your ideas a messed on the wrong planes, and whilist it is interesting to compare bible characters with different human species, dont forget that one referse to the metaphisical, spiritual and energetical plane, and the other to evolutionary plane. With that in mind, I'd like to give you some more impunt for the metaphor. Ever hard about the archeotipes? they're my current special interest. Defined by Carl Jung, the second father of psicoanalisis, archeotipes are reoccuring mythological and sterotical figures that aren't necessery tied to cultural ideology, but can be found in folkore/religious of populations that never ever had the chance of meeting back when they were narrated. Unfortunately, he himself only identified few of them, due to the limitation of sources probably, but nowadays the internet is helping in those identification.
Many people study them without knowing their name. It not only possible but likely for genisis to contain only archeotipes characters due to its hystory (ancient hebrew saw so many differnt inter-racial cultures, they must have noticed the similar archotipes/integreted differnt figures by simular charateristic in one only; the genisis as referensis to nearly all mythologies of the world).
So the 3 sons of Noah could actually be archeotipes of the different human -tendensies- as the result of denisovan+sapiens, neatherlands+sapiens, sapiens+sapiens; BUT NOT LITTERALY.
I have no comment on the giants as that is straight act batsh!t.
If you could list in which traditions that are not directly in touch giants are a thing, i would like to know, but to my knowlege their a japan thing only.
Sapiens isnt belivied to be a Neanderthal/Denisovan conseguence, i urge you to look up human evolutionary TREE, and the real conseguence of larger brain aint violence, as men violence tendecy are a) cultural permission and b) testorone related.
Instead I hold the hypothesis (a key world you should use too with all respect) for neurodivergense (not in its broader meaning) to be a conseguence of interspecies inbreed, particulary autism to be caused by having a sapiens aligned brain size with a neatherlands aligned receptors sistems and other, as you mentioned wrongly, non-conforming balance that make autism a disabiliting disorder. I don't have proof for it but papers studies on wtf neatherlands went instinct list charachteristic that are easier found in neurodivergent that neurotipical people.
If someone is reading this, please look up the hunter/gather vs farmer vs herder it's so interisting and falls so good in place with species hereditary, mindset, mbti, different religions (pagan sun-moon, catholicesim, buddism..)
      Goodnight, from us all.
