Yakgirilena raja maha viharaya(Cave temple) situated in seruwawa village near wellawa town, Kurunegala district in Sri lanka.According to the folklore,legends and rock inscription,history of the temple goes back to the pre-christian era. It is one of the oldest temples in Sri lankahe temple located about 18km away from kurunegala town.
The ancient cave temple was constructed on the side of the large rock,middle area of the yakdessagala mountain. It is an isolated place about 500meters away from new temple. You have to climb more than 400 of steps to reach the cave temple.
