Back when the Szapary's still lived on the 3rd floor, I worked in the Caretakers (Boiler room ) Bldg by the front gate doing the underground renovations (about 9yrs ago). There is a 360' brick vaulted tunnel underneath its street-facing front yard that runs from there right to the basement level of the main mansion...loved your video tour here, quite an amazing place!

Frankly, The Breakers is my fa favorite American edifice. We all love Lynnwood Hall, but The Breakers takes the cake. Over the top but somehow with such elegance.

I toured it years ago. I don't think any video can do it justice. I think I was more astounded by the waste of money spent to build it than anything else.
Not a waste in my opinion....an exceptional estate with an extraordinary history.

yes! we only spent 1 day in Newport and we were able to visit most of the tourist attractoons..
