    Welcome to Colombia
In Bogotá (en.wikipedia.o...) there are several sectors where you can stay and each of them has important tourist sites in Bogotá. The place where you decide to stay can be chosen because of your interests and how you want to enjoy Bogotá.
One of the main neighborhoods of Bogotá is La Candelaria (en.wikipedia.o..., the city center. Here you find most of the museums in Bogotá and a large number of historical and cultural events and sites. Today it is a very calm place and has several hostels, so many backpackers stay here. The main hotels in the area are The Orchids Hotel (bit.ly/2MPdEFV) and Hotel La Opera (bit.ly/31T6gxk).
Another neighborhood of Bogotá and close to La Candelaria is La Macarena (es.wikipedia.o.... This sector is ideal to enjoy the best gastronomic offers of Bogotá, but there are not many hotels or residential areas.
Chapinero (en.wikipedia.o...) is a good neighborhood for those who want shopping in Bogotá. Although many tourist sites are not there, they are not far from there. On the other hand, Usaquén (en.wikipedia.o...) is a sector with many restaurants and some good hotels.
But if you are interested in a good nightlife, shopping and restaurants, sectors such as Zona G (es.wikipedia.o..., Zona Rosa and Zona T are ideal for you.

I'll be going to Bogotà for the first time in April, 2022 and staying at the San Sebastian Gay Hotel in Chapinero. (BTW, I loved the rainbow flag colored crosswalk!) What do you know about this hotel? I've read that it's within walking distance of the Theatron gay disco, but is it safe to walk at night? Any info you can provide will be much appreciated! ¡Gracias!
