- In June of 2022, I travelled to the country of Georgia to compete in a 7-day stage race with Racing the Planet. We'd run 250 km while carrying all of our food and supplies for the week on our backs, and this 7-part series will document my entire adventure, starting with the week I spent travelling around the country and taking in its rich history.

I could seriously write a novel about how AMAZING this video is. I'm blown away and a bit speechless. The music, the editing, the drone shots.....like I say, too many to list. I do have to make 2 comments though. 1 - What I love about your videos is they bring you up not down. Social media is filled to the brim with videos that (in one way or another) are designed to depress, instill fear, etc. into the watcher and I guess that stuff "sells" but I always feel so great about the human race and our future after watching your videos. Thank you for that. 2 - Maybe this is your plan, but you need to branch out and make more travel videos like this. The running audience is so small but the travel audience.....they need to jump on your channel. This is as good as it gets. You are a true professional. From a fellow Canadian, well done!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. You’ve pretty much nailed my long term strategy as well - travel is where I see the growth potential for my channel, and it’s something I can continue to do as I get older (or even when injured), but there will always be an element of ‘outdoor adventure’ involved.
@@JeffPelletier I love it bud! Can't wait:)
This is a spectacular film. I love learning about new countries. Looking forward to your race footage.
As usual, simply spectacular cinematography. Your visuals, choice of music, and narration draw in the viewer and make us fall in love with the region and the sport. You are so, so talented as a filmmaker. I'm glad you share your gift in this way. It's a crime that your channel has only 63,500 members.
Jeff! The Tony Bourdain of trail! This is why I pay for the channel. Worth every penny. Thanks for your work!
Thanks so much for the support!
I’m here because I’m a runner. But even if I was not I compliment you on your filmmaking. Very entertaining.
Nobody does these trail run/travel vids better than you! Great job!
I'm not quite sure how I landed on your channel but I'm so glad I did! Wow! Just Wow! The only downside is that I've skipped some of my runs and stayed on the bike trainer to keep watching your films. Racing Georgia and the Namib race were both INCREDIBLE!! Incredible story telling, filming and inspiration. Thank you!
I’ve never left a comment under a video yet, but I cannot leave RUclips without telling you how great this video was and how much I appreciated it. The captions, the nature, the number of facts and information you share and your affinity and sensibility for culture is outstanding. Thanks for making these videos and please continue doing them🙏
Thanks Mat!
From one Pelletier to another I just wanted to thank you for putting together such amazing content from your global travels and here at home. You and Audrée make an incredible team and you are super lucky to be able to do these adventures together. Admittedly, I am living vicariously through you guys and I'm enjoying every moment of it. So please keep the content coming as it's very motivating to me and many others I'm sure. Understanding that there is tons of work involved putting this content together so it is very much appreciated. Onwards and upwards!
This is masterful, Jeff. You’re doing for trail running what Bourdain did for food tourism.
That’s actually a higher compliment than you might know. I’ve always loved Bourdain and secretly aspire to do exactly that for trail running!
We don’t deserve Jeff!!! This is masterful. Thank you for such captivating storytelling 👏🏾👏🏾
I was in Georgia in 2019 and they had the convoys of waiting trucks then too. We stopped at all the sites you did up to the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument then returned to Tbilisi. would love to go back and run there this time. great people, mountains, food and wine!
Oh la la! Jeff, this is what we have been waitin' for ! Appriciate your precise editin' work, such a pleasure to watch! Eager to see the whole serie of this! Much love from Finland.
Great film with a new spin! loved the travel and historical depth you gave episode 1! Kudos also to your great editing! we often tend to forget the amount of work put into making these films! Bravo!
First time watcher, first timer commenter. Bravo this production quality is brilliant!
Thanks! Welcome to the channel 😎
Another amazing serie on the way. Each time I hear Jeff telling in his other videos. "its gonna be ready in a year or so", I couldn't help laughing. But once we get the goods its marvelous. Documentary level of video journalism, even National Geograpic level. Worth the wait and the amount of works you must put into this.
I wish TV was this good.
Jeff, your channel has been a treasure trove of all goodies related to running, sports, travel and more, but this video (and I guess the following parts) are something else. It was as professional as it gets, I loved watching it and can't wait to have time for the rest of the episodes. Wow :) Thank you, Sir!
Zs
jeff, you are probably the best video maker among all pro trail runners, while you are also the fastest trail runner among all youtubers 😋
Yep, public transport not working from midnight to 6 AM, but it's top notch. People are excelent, food even more! Only good memories from Tbilisi.
Wow, wow, wow!! This is so impressive and I can't wait for the rest of the series. You are also 2 for 2, Georgia has never been on my bucket list, but after seeing those mountains and all of the friendly people, it is now! Thank you Jeff for continuing to share your adventures with your amazing videos.
Fantastic video, what a treat!
Tes videos sont toujours géniales Jeffy! Merci de les partager!
Well worth the wait! After watching this episode, not only do I want to run more. I also want visit this incredible country. Thank you the lengths you must go through to put out such captivating content.
Great videos, Jeff! I’m always excited and i am looking forward to your new uploads. Thank you for bringing us, your viewers, to your running and travel journey. Wishing you the best and cheers all the way from from Philippines!
Echoing some other commenters-- I found you for the running content, but turned on notifications for the amazing storytelling and insights from the people you meet!
Hi Jeff! As a longtime fan of your channel I finally became a member as of now. You really outdid yourself with this video. Please keep doing what you're doing 👍
Thanks so much for the support!
Brilliant filming as usual Jeff! So interesting
🙌🙌
This channel got me though 1 week of being nailed to the couch thanks to covid, now I'm hooked.
Oh wow! I came for the trailrunning content, but your travels really make me wanna visit Georgia! Thank you so much for this - looking forward to the next episodes! 👏
Georgia is absolutely incredible! I'm so happy to have travelled there!
Wow, Jeff! So great on so many levels! The sound design for one was great. Plus the usual history and story telling. Love it!
Since your amazing fast packing Mont Blanc video I feel you've moved up a couple of gears - these films are amazing!! Love it. Such inspiring work - I love the way you treat the race as an opportunity to explore a different country. Great stuff!!
Thanks Tim! This series is actually a lot like my Racing Namibia series from early last year, so be sure to check that out as well if you haven’t yet 😀
@@JeffPelletier Will do and thanks agin
Hi Jeff. Again a beautiful video man. I think i feel so so good for you. I watched this video today morning and i’m gonna stay positive whole day. It was kind of so courageous for you to travel like this solo. I’m running a HM coming sunday and your UTMB film was also the roght motivation I needed. I have tried trail running but so afraid of animals specially the dogs and all. But you have just shown something spectacular to me. Thanks for your work. 🙏
Stunning Jeff. So happy that the race inspired you to visit a place outside of the normal bucket list and that you loved it.
Just WOW! Love the video and everything you do for the running community! Taking us with you on your adventures and making these inspiring videos! Thank you!
as impatient as i get for your feature races.... the production is worth the wait! thank you for sharing your travels with us, i particularly love the multidimensional views (dashcams! drones! perfectly composed long shots! beautiful b-roll!) and engaging story telling! looking forward to the rest!
Once again an absolutely fantastic film from Jeff. He consistently produces content far and above the normal RUclips level. So engaging and brilliantly shot, edited and narrated. Thank you Jeff.
Amazing footage and content, like watching National Geographic, so much historic value....looking forward to the next episodes. Thanks for taking us.
This episode is a masterpiece!!!!
That’s so far away! I’m so excited!
I love that you share some of the sights and history of the country! My kids were fascinated!
We traveled to Georgia in 2022 as well and used Traffic Travel/Tsotne as a guide for an 8 day tour all over the country. Amazing nature, amazing running, amazing experience overall. Can't wait to relive our trip watching your videos! 🙂
Wow, so excited for the rest of the series. Production values just keep going up with every release. The soundtrack on this one SLAPS!
So glad I met you in person, great guy. Can’t wait to see this one
Thanks Giorgi. Looking forward to crossing paths again one day soon!

This is fantastic and makes me want to visit Georgia again! Great job.
Amazing episode, you’re an incredibly talented film maker! We genuinely cannot wait for the next part 🎉 Cheers from Czech Republic!
oh yeah, this is it… having seen the namibia version, expecting a lot of beautiful moments for this stage race in georgia..
wow, what a video again! you definetly should try to register for ITB in Berlin and get in touch with all the travel companies directly and pitch your videoskills and do travel videos while getiing paid. Your style of video is just stunning!
oh did you delete that? ok
Delete what? I’ll have to look into ITB!
@@JeffPelletier I posted a link to a story about the lorry drivers line which I found very interesting. From before the russian war but not that important. Yes please look into ITB. It is held every year in march and it the world‘s biggest travel fair. Might also be worth to talk to the canadian travelboard…
Ah sorry, I have it set to automatically delete comments with links as they are generally spam.
@@JeffPelletier makes sense! Thank you for the explanation 🙏🏻
Absolutely brilliant. Another great video and so interesting 👍🏃🏻♂️
thanks for sharing! Our trip there was short and now we are planning to go back... we'll take some itineraries from this vlog... :D

Wow Jeff. Your videos beat any travel history programme. You give us so much information and take us to amazing places . Stunning . Thank-you .
We are super excited for the full series!
As always Jeff, what a way to discover a new country. Great work!
Great video as always! I’ve been binge watching all of your content as I recover from a surgery.
As always, a brilliant video! Thanks for sharing! Really looking for the race to start (even knowing the end already)!
If you had a proper "supra", a typical Georgian dinner, I admire you for running the day after 😂.
I'm a Georgia big fan, I'm looking forward for my next visit to finally run some trails there.

Amazing video, again Jeff. WOW
Amazing! Added to bucket list!
Thank you for producing amazing videos and documentarys! Watching your videos and hearing your voice is so soothing. It really calms me down!
I have been injured most of 2022 and haven’t been able to run and watching your training diary and everything else has kept my desire to run when i felt like just giving up at times!
Please keep this up!
Thanks again Jeff! Been following your adventures for some time! Spectacular and motivational. You set a very high bar and we really appreciate your creativity and thoughtfulness!
Can't wait. It looks spectacular in this short piece...
Fantastic Video Jeff! Great filming/editing. Really entertaining.
The video is awesome and thanks for sharing this amazing experience with us. You channel truly deserve more Subscribers/Viewers. Your videos inspired me to start my RUclips channel. I am still at the beginning stage of this long journey and there are so many things to learn.
Idk how you did to keep such s good spirit! Once again an awesome video!
Can't wait to see it, your videos are fantastic and incredible to see some of these places through your eyes.
Nice driving area a while after that line of truckers
I've been looking forward to this film since you run it and it didn't disappoint. What an interesting and beautiful place. As soon as I watched the interviews around the race, I thought I should probably move there... Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
This episode is epic Jeff! I cannot wait for eps 2 now😉 and September 2023 I am travelling for a running camp there, yeah!😁
Super excited for the series Jeff and to what you have planned for 2023. You are a great motivation!
This is so great. Can't wait to se the rest of the series. Thank you so much for the work you put in to these films/series.
Great insight into the city! I'm surprised to hear that there are so many immigrants in Tiblisi, it doesn't jump out as a hot spot!!
So happy to see this. Stunning as always. The Caucasus are on my bucket list, would love to hike them. Well worth checking out Levinson Woods 4 part series on hiking the Caucuses - Russia to Iran, if you haven't seen it already.
So excited these have begun! As usual, incredibly well put together and the shots are beautiful!
babe wake up !!! jeff posted another stage race episode!!!!
