FREEM009 Australia: The First Meet Up
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
- In June we operated our first public FreeM009 meet up in Melbourne! With 32 modules which made about 40 meters of track!
We had modules from all over Victoria and one all the way from South Australia and members of different clubs from Australian Model Railway Association - Victorian Branch, Sunbury Model Railway Club, Ballarat District Model Rail Club, NMRA - National Model Railroad Association, and the The 009 Society! As well as The Train Girl with her stand and module!
We value your feedback, so please feel free to leave a comment, and if you haven't already, consider subscribing for regular updates. We'll return next month with more captivating news from the world of model railways in Australia.

I genuinely think the whole freemo setup is crucial to the entire hobby, no matter what scale it is. Allowing people to do as they wish with no judgement. No matter who you are, what you like, you can just have fun, and that’s something I think people forget to do and take too seriously. We just all have to have fun. Great stuff will awesome video as always.
I couldn’t agree more! Thank you!
I think it is one of the best ways forward because it reduces the barrier to entry, but also fosters the social aspect of the hobby. It allows for the flexibility that you can't get from more traditional club layouts and memberships.
I would love to get involved with freemo in Australia. Great to see it happening!
Will, great update on an exciting new initiative. It looks amazing, and sounds like it is getting a big take-up.
Good luck with it all, and I will follow progress with keen interest.
Thank you for the update, and sharing, cheers, and stay safe, Michael
Hi Will and crew. It was interesting to watch your progress and the growth of the group.
Thank you! We’re all very excited!
How exciting. Your enthusiasm is as infectious as ever. Excellent looking modules.
Nice video Will. It was great to see everyone's modules at the meet up at AMRA. I'm also excited to get a start on my own module and eventually participate at a meet up.
Thanks for coming Nicholas! We’re keen to see what you make!
Woohoo, good on ya Will! A warm welcome to the BRMA, my friend! This year is ten years since joining the BRMA and I have to say it is the best group where one can learn a lot from and have some really awesome mates as well, some whom I call almost family to me. So, on that note, I look forward to catching up in Victoria in October for the convention!
Keep well. Regards, Caleb
It was great to see everyone's hard work in person after seeing bits and pieces coming together in the Facebook group. Time to clean up my space and get to work!
They do look epic and love how 009 keeps booming with new layouts, great update.
Nice update. Kudos to you for your efforts in getting this concept going in Australia Will.
Stephen, you didn't happen to live in Armidale in the 90s by any chance?
@@dannorman387 Yes mate, and I recognise you immediately!
Well done Will. Great progress for 3 months 🎉
Congrats to all involved! I reckon for the next one, you'll need a bigger hall💪
That's the plan!
That is a great kit Will and a great video! Thx mate
Thanks for the shoutout Will, really appreciate it! 😀
wow have wanted to do this for so long after seeing it in the USA so glad you have kicked it off here in Australia
Thanks Alan! We’re certainly keen to see where it goes!
I’d still love to see Free-Mo Ho get off the ground but there was nothing but fighting and groups simple refusal to work together was pretty disappointing which is one reason we went down this path!
This is awesome, this concept is virtually perfect to introduce new people to the hobby in an open social setting that doesn’t include yearly membership fees or club politics!
Wow! everything looks great!
Certainly can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
Fabulous.
Way to go Will. Keep on training.
Thank you, I will
Thank You,
You are welcome!
Man I can do all this except afford a train... Yet... But damn I want one hahaha nice one 👍
Good video thanks Lee
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic to see, love everyone working together. Yes I agree it would work for ON30 as well…lots of ideas
It certainly would work for 0n30! I’d love to see that happen as well!
@@WillJamesRailways thanks for encouragement, I have a few guys close that might build something
2:36 damn. Gonna show that guy my Thomas the tank channel
I showed him your Thomas the Tank channel.
Pretty fkd. A whole lot of benchwork, next to nil realistic scenery or self-bourne structure & a whole lota 'yes-mate' & photography that shows off someone else's skill at creating realistic models.
Sounds like someone's jealous they don't have 40m long modular Narrow Gauge model railway.
Well we had to start somewhere! Would love to have more people join in the no matter what level of modeling they’re at! Hope to see you at an exhibition or a meet up soon! Thanks again for watching!
