What about dockers? They are very functional as casual or formal and you can where them while working in most settings.
Thanks so much, man! Well, Dockers are a particular brand, but it's usually synonymous with khakis, which is a color, not a garment. Khaki is great for those semi formal occasions, for sure! They can be in chino form (which I have) or trousers...it's a good choice!

Sorry to hear that. It's very practical which is why I love it (keeps me super cool), and it's been around for at least 90 years so it's a classic but it's totally fine if you don't like it.
