I need to grab these Surfer 90's epic collections! Great video my friend 👌
Thank you so much man!
Yeah these epic collections were how I fell in love with the surfer. I started with Silver Surfer Freedom which was an earlier collection but I loved it. This Thanos Quest volume was incredible though, Highly Recommended 👏
You’ll need to let me know if you end up picking it up 💪🏄
I'd love to hear reviews of the other epic collections
I did an unboxing for another silver surfer epic collection, but yeah I’ll need to do more reviews of these :)
Thanks for watching man!
I did review a Wolverine epic collection as well on my channel
It's nice to see how some of these older comics art really holds up. It's also odd to refer to something from the 90s as an older comic haha.
I have a couple of these Epic Collections myself, they're awesome!!
I guess it’s all relative 😂
Weird to think 90s comics are all approaching 30 years old 😱😱😱
The art Definitely holds up! I have LOVED the worlds and character designs I’ve seen here, particularly Rob Lim of course 👏
I have really loved these Epics as well!
Do you have favorite epic collections you have? I’m always looking for good recommendations :)
Thank you so much for watching/commenting!
Those issues are pure gold
It’s my first time reading this run and I think I’m in love 😭😍👏
@@TheComicBookReport I actually got most of those issues back when they came out At Toys are US, they would sell these packs of four comics it would always have two silver surfer issues and Captain Planet, some times Iron Man, but thanks to that I became a die hard Silver surfer fan. I have to get that compilation
@@cavotiscomics3423 wow that’s amazing had no idea they sold comics at toys r us
I’ve always been culturally aware of the Surfer, and I’d see or read him in Fantastic Four or in crossovers or event books, but the Silver Surfer epic collection: freedom was my first gateway into his real solo stuff and I was hooked, and now that I’ve reached Starlin I think I’m just a fan for life. Can’t wait to continue this run!
And the Epics are just great for this character
Ah this is a classic series. Takes me back!
Yeah I’m just finding his run for the first time and I’m amazed at how incredible it is 😱
Thanks for watching! 🎉
I had 1-75 issues of Surfer vol. 2. All the Jim Starlin books. My mother got rid of 'em. I'm still heartbroken.
@@ninposkillz oh dang that’s one amazing set. I’m sorry for your loss 😭
Great review. I appreciate that they didn’t fiddle with the coloring *too* much. A lot of these older comics are almost unreadable to me in trade due to that
I never read single issues so I don’t really have something to compare them too but I know color fidelity has been key for so many readers
All subbed up and will be watching sir. #keepitcasual #growtogether
Wow thank you sir 💪
Checking out your channel as well
I love the 70s and 80s starlin marvel, some of if not the best comics in my opinion, you should really check out his strange tales and Warlock series from the 70s, the best ever
I have been dying to read the Warlock run 😱
ron marz is also a terrific durfer writer
👏👏👏
Plz make video on Marval comics. From where to start and which comics I should consider???
I’m actually currently working on a video just like that for the character of Daredevil 😉
Stay tuned! Hoping to have that out in December
Thanks for watching!
Do you have favorite hero’s?
If you like Starlin you should check out his Dreadstar collections from First Comics.
I love what I’ve read of Starlin! I will definitely need to look into that. What’s it about? Assuming science-fiction
@@TheComicBookReport Yeah, it's completely his own work with his own characters, but it did spin out of a series he wrote for Marvel's Epic magazine back in the 80's. Great stuff.
@@johnkeenan1829 I’ll need to keep a lookout always great to get new recommendations :)
Thank you!
Fond memories of these books, buying them as a kid from my LCS...still have the originals, I might go dig them up for another read!
This is my first time through the Jim Starlin run and it’s unbelievable how great it is! I can’t get enough 😂
Stoked you have these books, may be a time for a re-read 😉💪

Doesn't look too bad this one :) never really been a fan of Silver Surfer in such a way that i read anything but hearing about it does make it sound pretty interesting! cheers
Yeah he’s not for everyone but I’m hooked ever since I picked up some of these epic collections! 😂
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for watching 💪
@@TheComicBookReport Thanks and have an awesome weekend yourself! :)
@@pixel325 💪💪💪
Looks like a great book! I thought that epic collections didnt have any color?
Epic collection are color, the Essential line was black and white
@@TheComicBookReport ah I gotcha I need to get my hands on some of those!
Honestly man they are some of my favorite editions marvel has ever released, super easy to read, and typically a great amount of content.
Some vary in quality as far as the strength of the prints but yeah good stuff.
Ron Lim will always be my favorite Silver Surfer artist. He did a SS series this year after decades away but unfortunately the story by Ron Marz was pretty weak.
Yeah I’ve seen that advertised I’m thinking about checking out the trade paperback! Love the surfer and Ron Lim just depicts him wonderfully 👏👏👏
❤
