- Managed to get TWO Dangerous Anacondas in the same encounter and came out only slightly scratched. Made for a really fun fight!
Build: s.orbis.zone/fwkl
I have ZERO idea what you were shooting there, but absolutely awesome to see, commander!👍🏽👍🏽
Cytoscramblers, burst lasers that are very effective against shields but useless against hulls. Available only for Archon Delaine supporters rank 3 or higher.
Enforcer, high-caliber multicannon available only for Simguru Pranav Antal supporters rank 3 or higher.
Someone likes his powerplay. ;-)
This reminds me of that old video where a guys fights a bear and says, "Hey look and Eagle", then proceeds to hit it where it hurts. Kind of a similar case except this time it's two bears and the Eagle is the one doing the hitting.
Hmmm... cytoscrambler with inertial impact. It works only against huge ships, and it is very effective. Useless against fast, smaller ships and in PVP. This eagle do almost as many shield/hull damage as my maxed anaconda. Nice.
Nice! I've been using a Vulture with a fixed Beam and a Frag cannon. Don't have any of those fancy special weapons. It's definitely teaching me how to not be shot tho! And taking down big stuff with a tiny ship is definitely some of the more fun flying out there! Now maybe one day I'll learn FA off...
Vultures are fun and a great entry level to the world of killing stuff in small ships. I say entry level purely cause tbh they're pretty safe, huge shields and armour and practically zero max speed penalty from moving pips away from ENG. They have their own challenges, though. Such as power balance and limited loadout options.
I'm not using FA off in this video. IMO FA off is highly over-rated. The only tangible benefit I can see with using it is the removal of the arbitrary speed cap FA on puts on lateral and reverse throttles. Everything else can be achieved with FA on (yes, even turn speed). I'm still working on my FA off flying simply so I get fewer dorks commenting on my videos with, "lol no FA off lmao zoom zoom".
@@silverstyles5646 yea Vulture is definitely easy mode as small ships go. Fun tho!
I don't blame ya for not using FA off, I just want to learn it one day for the challenge! It'd be incredible to pull off some of the manuvers I've see around RUclips in VR!
@@silverstyles5646 FA off is useful in large slow ships when you're fighting a smaller opponent. Whenever my vette has to fight an eagle and can't get it in front of its nose, I boost, turn with FA off, therefore keeping my trajectory, and then I can fire. In small ships it is not as important, but my long range engineering loves that tactic as well, so I do some FA off flying. Gotta love those long range burst and long range enforcer on my eagle...
@@danielsieker9927 I do fly FA off a bit. I suppose the part where I can't relate is that I exclusively fly small ships and keeping trajectory for too long is a death sentence . I see your point there, however there would still be caveats with that strategy. Particularly if the opponent was REALLY good at staying close.
Best strat for big ships might be to just constantly cargo scoop boost, I guess. All the turn speed with only half the speed.
I've been FA off exclusively for over a year. Once your get close to mastering it, it seems like you unlock an entire book of advanced maneuvers. Stick with it, and it will come to you. it's 100% worth the effort.
This video gave me the motivation to unlock the Cytoscramblers. I built a Viper IV around them, and in the week I've had them it's already given me more entertainment than dominating CZs in my Corvette
o7 CMDR
Hell yeah!! Great to hear. Vipers are beasts!
The C&C music was a fine pick!!!!
Wonderful flying CMDR
Boy, I wish you have something that showed your imputs with these fights. I still get chewed up in my Chieftan against these if I'm not careful, and I'd be afraid to go at them in any small ship.
I'm looking into obtaining something like this, don't worry!
Good flying. I couldn't do that with an eagle, though. The enemy ships just recover shields faster than the lasers can reduce them, even if I could avoid getting killed.
Standard small hardpoint weapons do take a looong time. Gotta do something wacky like my builds .... which almost always include cytoscramblers..
First take away: I'm not going out of Solo play, its down right nasty. Second: Kickass graphics card there!
I used to exclusively play solo but I've started hitting open due to NPC's being boring. It's not so bad. Until it is, I guess
Came for the sick flying skills, stayed for the Command and Conquer soundtrack.
Battle Control Online, Commander o7
Superb flying CMDR
Cheers mate.
I used to use this tactic in a fully kitted Vulture pre engineer. Was a blast. Went to a FDL after that and decided I hated it, then went back to to he Vulture.
Vulture is great fun. Essentially the easy version of this, haha!
Fun stuff, I've flown this exact build a few times. Before unlocking the enforcer, I just used a regular fixed cannon in it's place
Cannon is probably my favourite weapon. For this build to work, you need corrosive shell to get the cytos to damage hull so, if someone didn't have enforcer, they CAN use a small frag with corrosive but small frag is so trash, it's almost only good for applying corrosive. :D
@@silverstyles5646 Correct and I agree, cannon may not be the most efficient weapon but it's my favorite. It's also underrated probably because of all the nerfs
@@jl3114 Cannons are awesome! They're like Kmart PA's. They're actually SUPER efficient if you use them what they're designed for: Blowing up modules. They'll pop a powerplant in a few shots and then blow up the ship after a few more. High yield shell got a nerf which is a little rough but I get why. Not to mention dispersal field experimental means you can afford point defense on a PvE Eagle since NPC's will SPAM missiles once the weak shield is down. Nothing wrecks an Eagle run faster than multiple missiles.
It's small frags that are worthless lol.
@@silverstyles5646 Well hit me up if you ever want to take on some wing missions for materials, I don't really like grinding for them in the buggie so I do CZ and HAZRES missions
Just caught this. Music matches the fight. Sounds like it's from Transformers The Movie from 1985
Ah, Command & Conquer music in an Elite game. Glorious.
This was one of the first things I found out when I got my conda. Bitch CAN. NOT. TURN.
this anaconda's need TURRET SHOCK CANNON lol :D
well nice video
indeed, the anaconda I use has 2 of them. it works amazingly on small-medium targets like this.
@@ordinaryman5070 dont use turrets, gimballed weapons are better in every way
@@powerline4564 This video perfectly shows why you'd want to put 1-2 turrets on your large ship. If you have a heavily engineered ship, then, perhaps, you don't need them. Otherwise they are more helpful than having 5% uptime on firing at your small target.
@@Fox5z turreted weapons are useless for damage dealing. I have discussed this countless times on the internet but instead of writing a huge comment here i will just refer to this video:
ruclips.net/video/lmEmKAGYSwY/видео.html
@@powerline4564 this video proves my point. And in the comments the author says that he looks at weapon's performance as a primary damage source. Turrets were never meant to be your bread and butter for every circumstance, more like an utility.
Well, I am encouraged to get cytos now :) Thanks!
NOW THEMS SOME CYTOS
Really nice one, great skills, but you get lucky the other Annie attacked also your first target and helped you, so you only fought one at a time.... When a second pirate jump you, is always best to get them shooting each other :p
Now do it on a default eagle, that would be more impressive
Woah,
o7 fly dangerously cmdr o7
That's fantastic.
I was planning to build a heavy eagle with 3 normal inertial bursts but worrying about the damage output.
Now thanks to your vid I think I got some different thoughts on small combat ships.
So glad to hear that I could inspire some ideas. Small inertial impact bursts are ok because they're a bit easier on the distributor and can damage hull without corrosive, however, they kinda NEED corrosive anyway because they have such low piercing. There's a lot of interesting options with bursts.
Short range inertial impact bursts = ok against shields, pretty average against hull (if bringing corrosive, though, these win out over focussed).
Focussed inertial impact bursts = pretty average against shields, better against hull.
Short range inertial impact cytoscramblers = more than 3x better than normal bursts against shields, useless against hull unless you bring corrosive shell.
With corrosive though, 1 x cyto is >3x better than a burst against shields and 2x better than a burst against hull.
Other great options are dumbfire advanced missile racks, fixed short range cannons with dispersal field. I GUESS rails too, particularly cascade ones to cut shield banks short and lets not forget one of my personal favourites .... miiiiines XD.
IMO, at least one short range inertial impact cyto is required for small ships.
I explore pretty much all of these options across my videos if you look around. o7
@@silverstyles5646 I was thinking about efficient mod but meh... If I can take out a target before he can return fire, why not?
As for the armor and shield part I never come across such idea. It's way more efficient (weight & effective hull) than I thought.
Treasure!
Cheers on the original C&C music
bro was using turrets on his anaconda 💀
The onlly damage received was heat
Incredible work, CMDR o7
Thank you. :)
This is how we all imagined ourselves flying when we first got onto an eagle
Thank you, that means a lot to me.
nice fight cmdr! o7
insane and well done!
I absolutely love the eagle
Anaconda Pilot: Size matters!!!
Sylver Styles: Hold my eagle...
Great flying.
Looking at your build, I don't understand one choice: the engineering on the hull. Why did you go Lightweight instead of Heavy Duty on the Lightweight Alloy Hull. Wouldn't going heavy duty give you more integrity with no penalty to speed?
That's a question I get a lot because, on the surface, most people think, "lightweight alloys don't receive the penalty from heavy duty!". While that is true, I STILL elect lightweight because I've got a few HRP's already and the lightweight bulkhead mod adds a bunch of nice resistances which increase my effective hull OVER that of what heavy duty would provide. You can try it yourself in the Coriolis build. Switch the bulkhead mod to heavy duty and watch the effective armour values go down.
It's incredibly build specific and sometimes it's better to take heavy duty but more often then not, lightweight wins.
@@silverstyles5646 I see. I'll have to play around with it myself
love the c&c music lol
LOL, no FA Off lmao zoom zoom xD
jokes aside :D
Very nice build. Do you have a link? How did you engineer this beast? Very impressive, cmdr o7
Build link is slightly hidden in the description. Have to hit show more. Good zoomer joke ;)
@@silverstyles5646 thx, saw it on another comment… I like small and medium ships. Your build and your flying skill is impressive. Need to copy that. o7
@@chkk3r The smaller the ship, the more fun you have! Hahah. I agree. Practice makes perfect but HOSAS also helps o7
Good skills brah! o7
Appreciate it, CMDR.
Not bad, not bad!
Wow very impressive!
How did u manage ur Cytos do do that much Dmg to the hull? I thought they only deal shielddmg because of armorpen=1… I can’t believe it’s only the lone enforcer cannon for all that armor dmg right?
o7
The cytos are actually the majority of the damage. Yes they're armour pen 1 but the corrosive rounds on the enforcer put corrosive debuff on the target which ....raises the armour pen of attacking weapons by 20 (and then increases damage by a further 25% yes corrosive is OP).
Now the cytos have about the same piercing as a normal class 1 burst laser but they're doing 72 dps each! (ofc it gets reduced due to armour hardness and resistances but it's still significant).
Frags instead of enforcer will do better vs most targets but I like the sustain of the enforcer.
@@silverstyles5646 Looks like you also have the kinetic mod on the cytos, very nice setup!
I love how one of the hostile anacondas shot the other one even though they were in the same faction
Dog eat dog, that's what happened there! It happens in hazardous resource extraction site quite a lot, too. :)
@@STRIDER503_sub I see that sometimes too
@@STRIDER503_sub ALso happens when you stack assassination mission in a system, if you fight one of the targets another one or two might drop in and start fighting it and eventually the player.
Good!! Cmdr
Are cytoscramblers worth it?
If you fly small ships, absolutely.
I hit the like button as soon as Warfare started playing
It's been a while since I touched a small ship, but I do remember that smaller shields recharge faster.
That said, how the hey did tou get your shield recharge to fast? So little downtime!
Shields only come back online once they reach 50% charge, which means the smaller the shield, the less downtime. This particular shield has 20 seconds downtime and takes 6 seconds to regen from 50% to 100%. Perfect for small ships. Proper pip management and the best fire avoidance I could muster is what kept the shields up for the most part.
Cytoscrambler huh? Hmm....
Do you use a HOTAS?
Nope, HOSAS. Two joysticks.
I love the background music from the Transformers cartoon movie.
It's actually Warfare from the original Command & Conquer. ;)
my goodness what kind of gun is that on the eagle...sorry im a noob just started playing
Both weapons he is using are powerplay weapons. Both are kinda hard to get but very worth it.
Dude, if you could go unencumbered by heat limits this would be unstoppable!
Oh it's plenty, stoppable, believe me haha! Armoured powerplant would assist with the heat at the cost of speed, I built this one for decent speed though.
Normal eagle or imperial eagle?
Normal. The REAL Eagle. ;)
@@silverstyles5646 You just earned a sub :)
very good throttle work, great job
I didn't even know that those weapons exist in the game
If it were me I woulda switched up the weapons config, 1 cyto and 2 enforcers. I normally do conflict zones and those NPCs tend to have a lot more hull.
These days I usually run 1 cyto + 2 cannons. It means I don't care about hull, just destroy the powerplant and keep hitting it, they'll pop at any % hull and it saves ammo!
Additionally, the enforcer is only there to provide ok damage but apply corrosive. Corrosive allows the cytos to have 21 piercing, making the majority of hull damage I dealt from cytos.
@@silverstyles5646 I know, I just prefer watching the hammerheads hull melt with the gatling while I hear the gun jam sound of the non-powered turrets.
Also Valkyries and Hurricanes genuinely take less than 5 seconds with this build once the Gatling goes at full speed. It's horrifying.
Edit: Ah, I genuinely thought this was a reply I made to a comment involving Star Citizen. It was a comment about a vanguard build with 4 distort cannons and the Redeemer S5 gatlings melting hammerheads for mad profit in group ERTs. My bad.
But yeah, I see where you are getting at with the hull piercing. While I still have your attention, you think fdev'll add modding by the end of the game's development? After Horizons was ended with the consoles, I don't see Odyssey lasting much longer.
And if they say no, you want to help reverse-engineer the game and make one ourselves? They did it in the 2000's for Elite 2 and First Encounters, I'd like to continue that trend.
Very well executed!
You got yourself a subscriber. Never knew this "cytoscrambler" existed.
Haha, thank you, sir! Best gun in the game.
Also a powerplay module from the pirate king (can't remember how to spell his name) takes a month to get and you have to have 750 merits by the third week to unlock it. In case no one told you yet
@@cmdrlightwalker_9877 Then repeat again for the enforcer! rofl
How do you have shield percentage shown on ships?

in the description.
Additionally, you'll likely find greater success using a rapid fire corrosive frag instead of the enforcer. The enforcer, however has greater sustain.
You can destroy them even faster by sub-targeting their power plants.
Have you tried hitting powerplants with the weapon I'm using? haha
@@silverstyles5646 ah, right. Jitter.
Huh, cytos on hull? Is inertial impact actually good on that gun?
Cytos have a piercing value of 1.
Inertial Impact (+ short range) raises cytos' dps to 72.
Corrosive debuff raises the piercing of attackers' weapons by 20.
When shooting cytos against corrosive debuffed targets, you now have a 21 piercing 72 dps laser shotgun.
