aespa always gets the budget, lol. This is one of two title tracks off of SMCU (aka most of the current SM artists) winter album that's coming out soon. The other title track is a remake of H.O.T's Hope, which is the song that always gets sung by everyone at the end of SMTown concerts. There's some VERY fun collabs coming in this album. Like Kyuhyun, Onew, and Taeil doing a song together.
Aespa really did a good job of keeping the dreamy aspect of Dreams Come True while still making it their own. They even made a reference so S.E.S’s Twilight Zone, (Which is my all time favorite S.E.S song.) Also, the iconic alien rap was in the original and I’m glad they still kept it.
SM just remastered the SES music video for "DCT" as part of their Remastering Project. Great to see aespa cover the song too. (Also check out Girls Generation's live version of "DCT" from 2009. Vocals!!!)
I was a big SES fan back in the day and this was the first songs I learnt to sing in Korean. I really enjoyed this remake ver as it beautifully combined the original song’s mood with Aespa vibe. The alien 👽 part was killing me and was really on point to bring the old memories back. Ning Ning ‘s voice resembles some of the qualities of Bada’s I wish she got the entire high notes part 😂

I love the whole concept in this Remastering Project by aespa. I'm already fan of aespa since Black Mamba. Their songs are kinda heavy but catchy to hear and this song ... I can listen to it all day long, hehe. I love the nuance, it's kinda dreamy, nostalgic, 90's but they didn't skip the modern feel, of course. That's such a good remix~

I’ve heard the SES version a few times but like this better as i don’t have any nostalgia for the original and it sounds dated now. For me, Aespa just never miss and can pull off any song vocally esp Ningning who stood out the most to me here.
Let's all thanks BoA for giving justice to the original by producing everything from the music to the choreography to which girl would sing which till the MV! This S.E.S song was the first Korean song I ever heard and I absolutely loved it! It was before I went into my Jpop journey and way before I started my Kpop journey! Even if it's was already an old song back then, when I discovered it when I was still in middle school, I absolutely loved it. I saw the remastered MV just some weeks ago and once again, this more than 20 year old song is still so great. So having aespa doing a remake of this song with their own aespa flavour while keeping some elements from the original! I absolutely loved it! The tempo is faster, the hip hop elements they added didn't feel odd or out of place, they even got some more R&B elements! Well, thank you BoA and aespa! I hope a lot of people will also take time to watch the original MV!

The original song is from a Finnish girl duo called Nylon Beat and the song is called Rakastuin mä luuseriin (which means ''I fell in love with a loser''). It was released in 1996. SM entertainment bought rights to the song and S.E.S released it in 1998.
I love the original and I'm OBSSESED with this remake. I can't stop listening. BoA did an amazing job producing it and aespa performing it. I'm very pleased with this version. The RUclips Originals 'Re:Masterpiece" shows the whole process. That was really fun to watch too.

The Original Song was 1996 song "Rakastuin mä looseriin" ("I fell in love with loser"), by Finnish girl group Nylon Beat. SES covered it and made it a number one song in Korea.
Not only was this a remake but the creative director and co-composer was also BoA. There’s a ~45 min documentary sort of type thing about the process of her changing the song, assigning parts and then helping the girls through the entire process! Super fun to watch!
A lot of this song is the original lyrics and melody not just the hook. I think they really did a good job keeping true to the original and also bringing it to a current kpop sound. Also love the relationship between a first kpop girl group and future of kpop girl group both from sm. Cool to see the history of something that a lot of people listen to jow
My hubby didn't really know SES, but vaguely recognized the song when I played Aespa's version... he said he heard it a lot in northern Cali in Asian stores, plus was particularly into 90s Asian songs of all kinds since he's Filipino :) He loved the remake, but obviously was just a casual fan of it. As someone that got into kpop around 2007-2008, I absolutely love the remake even though I unfortunately hate all of Aespa's other songs lol. I've always said that I can clearly tell they're talented, but I am just not into the style of most of their songs, something about them totally puts me off... it actually annoys me I like parts of their songs and every single one gets ruined imo 😕 It's to the point now that I couldn't full enjoy this song until it was clear it was over lol, then I decided I absolutely love it and had to show my hubby.
a lot of the cg shots were based off the original mv from ses like the shot with the robot and the shot with the butterfly wings. in the of they were supposed to look fairy-esque and the robot was originally an alien
for a while i haven’t been too excited about kpop but aespa are superstars and they’ve gotten me so excited again after years of not feeling the magic for me anymore
The only reactor of this song to research about it, knowing that it's a cover, and detail reactions. Now I know why a lot of people recommended me your channel.
The robot is a reference to the alien in the original MV from S.E.S. I think they say this is the "alien rap". I was hoping you would play the original next.
This song was actually originally a popular Finnish song, to which SM Entertainment bought the rights to produce a korean/english to! As a Finn, very happy to hear this nostalgic melody again!
first time hearing dreams come true when they remastered the mv so i also am not supposed to hold nostalgia but the song made me feel nostalgic haha and i love both versions so much. S.E.S's was floaty and dreamy, aespa's made me wanna dance to it. i could listen to both on repeat.
the robot alien rap thing is also in the s.e.s version, I think BoA helped in producing this track, and the "don't stop let's bring it back to 1:40" is jessica's line from I Got A Boy
may SM Entertainment wants to release remake songs from their artists, every year 1st "Forever" - Yoo Youngjin 2nd "Dreams Come True" - SES 3rd maybe SNSD or other girl group?
this isn't actually an sm station release, it's the title track of the smcu 2021 winter album and it's arranged and directed by boa (the process you can check out through youtube originals re:mastering). sm currently also has a remastering project of their older mvs including mvs from hot ses shinhwa fly to the sky and boa and dreams come true was one of them
This song was also produced, directed and planned by boa and its part of the remaster thing that sm is doing with RUclips. They have a 45 min vid on here about the whole process that boa and aespa went through. BoA said in that video that she wanted to take out the alien part but she just couldn’t lol
since you have mentioned that aespa is underwater, maybe this mv is connected to shinee's atlantis since they are also underwater. even the window in shinee's mv is similar to aespa's. is the underwater the upside down? i don't know much about sm universe but this could be a possibility..

f(x) i do believe did it
red velvet did it
and now aespa
.... with that and also knowing that BOA the goddess herself helped with this project really stamps the SM all over it .... which im here for .. its perfect polished and different yet rings a small nostalgic bell
Ohhh i was waiting for this one
a lot of the cg shots were based off the original mv from ses like the shot with the robot and the shot with the butterfly wings. in the of they were supposed to look fairy-esque and the robot was originally an alien
for a while i haven’t been too excited about kpop but aespa are superstars and they’ve gotten me so excited again after years of not feeling the magic for me anymore
Love them so much
The only reactor of this song to research about it, knowing that it's a cover, and detail reactions. Now I know why a lot of people recommended me your channel.
Let’s bring it to 90’s also reminds of snsd’s I Got A Boy’s Let’s go back to 140!!!!
The robot is a reference to the alien in the original MV from S.E.S. I think they say this is the "alien rap". I was hoping you would play the original next.
5:01 my exact reaction HAHAH
absolutely adore aespa and this song though
ive been waiting for this Yay
The robot was reference to the ses mv...but the one in ses was an alien
Spoiling us today !! Thank you PD
Almost 500k subscribers LET'S GO! 😊 👍
I love that you had literally the same reaction I had at exactly the same moments 😄
This song was actually originally a popular Finnish song, to which SM Entertainment bought the rights to produce a korean/english to! As a Finn, very happy to hear this nostalgic melody again!
first time hearing dreams come true when they remastered the mv so i also am not supposed to hold nostalgia but the song made me feel nostalgic haha
and i love both versions so much. S.E.S's was floaty and dreamy, aespa's made me wanna dance to it. i could listen to both on repeat.
It had a early 2000s vibe, which is cool. Since it's a remake, I felt like the AI appearance was not necessary.
the robot alien rap thing is also in the s.e.s version, I think BoA helped in producing this track, and the "don't stop let's bring it back to 1:40" is jessica's line from I Got A Boy
may SM Entertainment wants to release remake songs from their artists, every year
1st "Forever" - Yoo Youngjin
2nd "Dreams Come True" - SES
3rd maybe SNSD or other girl group?
Going to go check out the original now!
I like the original more coz it has more of this melody
Original song was not by SES it was by Nylon beat!
Not many people know that Snsd did their cover of the original Korean version. It was okay.
we need you reacting to the re:masterpiece ep of Boa producing this remake!!!
This song coming out near christmas reminds me of hearing Blaque's Bring it On around the same time as well.
this isn't actually an sm station release, it's the title track of the smcu 2021 winter album and it's arranged and directed by boa (the process you can check out through youtube originals re:mastering). sm currently also has a remastering project of their older mvs including mvs from hot ses shinhwa fly to the sky and boa and dreams come true was one of them
This song was also produced, directed and planned by boa and its part of the remaster thing that sm is doing with RUclips. They have a 45 min vid on here about the whole process that boa and aespa went through. BoA said in that video that she wanted to take out the alien part but she just couldn’t lol
this remake will be like 3 times better if you listen to the original song first then this
Loved your reaction! Hope to see you react to the rose, the band's new song, beauty and the beast!
All I got to say is Winter is hard carrying this group for me. I love winter
PG please, react to Loona's GoT7 Eclipse Dance Cover, it's INCREDIBLE!! i miss the Loona reactions.💗
since you have mentioned that aespa is underwater, maybe this mv is connected to shinee's atlantis since they are also underwater. even the window in shinee's mv is similar to aespa's. is the underwater the upside down? i don't know much about sm universe but this could be a possibility..
For those who don't know, BoA is the producer of this song.
