Christian Nationalism: The Movie | Doug Wilson

  • This was inevitable, I suppose. Rob Reiner financed and produced a movie called God & Country, a movie to warn us all about the impending threat called Christian nationalism. This somehow constituted a compelling invitation to erstwhile conservatives like David French and Russell Moore to clamber on board in order to help the secularists put the worst possible construction on whatever it is that is happening in the conservative Christian world. We will get to that in a little bit.
    Pastor Doug Wilson's Blog & Mablog video is presented by Canon Press.

      I have a problem with the name “Christian nationalism”.
      One problem being that the idea isn’t international and realistically doesn’t belong in this country as it is, a pluralistic multicultural heap of lawlessness where autonomous man determines through judicial processes what are his “god” given rights. As the founding fathers decided to not name the Triune God of the scripture, but instead covenanted with some impersonal deistic god who has no Word or law. Christian nationalism is trash, but i’d like to see a nationalism that is christian.

    Jesus, Mary and Joseph were not refugees. They moved from Rome's province of Galilee and Perea, which mandated abortion up to two years after live birth, via a brief stint in Roman Judea to pay taxes, then on to Rome's Egypt province that had a Safe Haven baby-box program (Moses' basket law). It was little different logistically or politically than moving from Virginia to Florida after a brief detour to Washington D.C. would be today.

    Any civilized country does not reject others religious practices and beliefs if they are for the upliftment of the human spirit. There is a great difference between real followers and the lip service cheaters in any bona fide religion. After all there is one Supreme God for all the people of the world although the presentation maybe different according to time and place and people. There are three modes in material existence. Goodness, Passion and Ignorance . And according to these modes people have their own various attractions to aspects of the Supreme Absolute. The mode of Goodness is liberating. The mode of Passion is binding and the mode of ignorance is degrading. Mostly these modes are mixed and come and go. Regulation of all manner of people is for their eventually elevation to ultimately transcending even the mode of goodness to pure love of God.

    • @NicholasproclaimerofMessiah
      @NicholasproclaimerofMessiah 9 месяцев назад

      @@adamjohns78 The problem with referring to the murders as merely prematurely ended processes, even when specifying it's also murder, is that we are saying the euphemism "abortion" is not evil and disgusting. If the euphemism is not evil and disgusting, then what is going on is less than murder; there is no way for it to be murder and for the euphemism to also be acceptable. By treating the disgusting murderous euphemism as something innocent, we use our spiritual messaging to help build the Pagan lie that these murders are somehow less than murder. This is an evil act which we should never participate in (unless we are murderous).
      Fighting for control of the dictionary begins at not referring to the sacrament of Pagan murder by their soft friendly euphemism of abortion (merely ending a process prematurely). So long as we join in unity with the murderers in their choice to speak softly about the murders, we are not even yet starting to fight for control of the dictionary. If we pretend to fight for control of the dictionary, whilst not even beginning to do so, then we are merely cosplaying. I'm not cosplaying, and I don't encourage Doug to merely cosplay, and I find it counterproductive that you are looking for excuses to stop at mere cosplay, when we could just walk in the Spirit Of Truth and speak truthful words instead of evil lies like "abortion".
      I love God, and God owns the babies, and people are murdering God's property. I don't care to give excuses for doing what is evil. It is evil to join the murderers in their use of the euphemism.
      If justifying what is evil is what you want to contribute, then that's between you and the Lord Of Truth.
      Why not speak honestly about the murders? Give me a reason to use the evil euphemism. Why should I use words to describe these murders as less than murder? Why should I spiritual convey that the murders are less than murder? Why should I use lying words? You didn't give any reason why it's good to unite with the murderers in their use of the disgusting euphemism. It's obviously bad, but how is it also good?

Renewable energy simply outsources pollution from one place (First World countries that have the resources to deal with it) to another (Third World countries that don't). You can’t seriously be advocating that our society relies on a finite resource? Thats a disaster waiting to happen. The irony of "Christian Nationalism" should be inherent. Unfortunately too many people can be fooled into believing foolish and harmful movements. Nationalists, historically, use violence and tyranny to move themselves forward. The Third Reich was a nationalist movement, the French revolution was a nationalist movement. Stalin and Mao both started and led nationalist movements in Russia and China. Nationalism always takes on an "us against them, and win by any cost" mentality. I will keep my comments on tribalism and globalism short. Tribalism breaks society up into groups (tribalism never went away as we still do this). And globalism seeks to unify the world (basically utopia; but dystopia is much more likely to happen in the pursuit of utopia).
    "The king comes with healing on his hands." Maybe someone here will recognize where this quote comes from. I use it because if we want a true biblical movement for the modern world we would think in terms of kingship. Kingdom mentality is often a phrase that gets thrown around. The Bible, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament presents kingdom as a place where God rules with justice, mercy, grace, and loving kindness. In the Old Testament the foreigner was offered certain rights and Israel was commander to be hospitable. The New Testament Unites both Israel and the world together into the kingdom of God. But Nationalism would not go this route. It becomes too easy to exclude, too easy to say that we are better than you. So no, Christian Nationalism is not a movement that any Christian should follow. Or, maybe every Christian Nationalist should answer this question: which nation does the Bible present as being the seat of God Kingdom and God's rule? All should know the answer, but few will want to address it since they will want the answer to be "America."

      If Doug's representation of the film is accurate, then I (a Christian Man) agree with their every reason for opposing "Christian nationalism" in every form. The US is not now, and never was, a Christian nation. Want proof? The first Amendment of the Constitution is a violation of the first 4 of the 10 commandments. Want more proof? Try this from James Madison (you remember, the guy that wrote the Constitution): "“The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries.” Want more? Read the Constitution and find ANY reference to any Biblical teaching or principle concerning the law of the US. Doug is only perpetuating the "we are under siege" mentality that has been growing exponentially since the "tea-baggers" (later they called themselves the "Tea-Party") sprang onto the because they were scared to death of a black president (even though he was the epitome of "family values). The problem is that the resistance in question is by vast majority an unchristian resistance. I'm glad to be called a Christian Nationalist; I would like us to establish a locality from which to sprout a Christian Nation. I'm not glad for the unchristian resistance to be called "Christian Nationalism". Cultural Christianity is not enough; it was impotent, and brought us to this, and is the death of what otherwise should be a sincerely Christian nation. If this unchristian widespread lameness is what is getting that name, then we, who are going to handle politics Christianly, will need a different name for our political efforts.

    I need to share this personal true testimony. God told me this story is important for the evil atheist demoncrats to hear but I hope it edifies all the super loving Christians as well as my fellow Saints and Trump supporters. I was doing my morning ocean swim in shallow water when I was attacked by a shark and I barely made it back to shore. A large part of my thigh was missing and I was losing so much blood...I knew I was a goner and would never be able to make it for help. But then out of nowhere a surfer showed up, he looked exactly like Jesus, the white version. On that day I witnessed one set of foot prints in the sand leading away from where I laid. I called out..."hey Jesus looking dude...are you just going to just leave me here"? And he said.."do you know how much you weigh...hell yeah". And then I died. But don't worry I came back three days later. Proof! How could I have written this if I didn't come back from the dead? The End. By the way, I did find the Jesus looking dude after I came back from the dead. Ironically his name was Jesus but with the Spanish pronunciation. He was in awe of my miracle recovery from death and has become one of my apostles. I am sure my story will be written about in about a hundred years. Now is a great time to get in on the ground floor...I am sure there is a lot of money to be made.ere now is my personal testimony.
