    I’ve never seen an athlete be so content and focused on life after playing. Like Mike Greenberg said, this dude dropped 60 in his last game, barely took his Lakers jersey off and won an Oscar “for crying out loud.” In my opinion he’s the GOAT, and what he’s been doing since he retired, working out with players, passing his knowledge down in the form of stories and art for the youth so that it keeps them interested and engaged, whether it’s his short film, his book, Detail on ESPN, is only elevating his status.

One of very few players who scouted legit talent he called out Giannis when he first came over, called Buddy Hield and DFox, said DLo was an opportunity away from being an all star I can go on and one I love this man kobe is my goat I don’t give a damn what no be else thinks

    • @samuel2pac72
      @samuel2pac72 5 лет назад +12

      Lil Dagga It’s probably because he looks for his own characteristics in players, mainly being the motor and work ethic. Giannis for example sleeps and eats basketball, just like Kobe he went through traumatic experiences and used the sport as refugee. He even beat Kobe fucking Bryant to practice that sold me on Giannis, his jumper will develop because of those “Mamba Challenges” on Twitter and so on, I believe Giannis when he said he was going to take Kobe up on the challenge by shooting 1,500 shots a day in the summer. Reeks of HOF career.

      @SESSHOUMARU11 5 лет назад +40

      i think before while playing he had no reason to be humble because he was the best player and he knew it, so really he was being authentic, and i think hes authentic now because hes not talking about himself as a player currently playing, while currently playing he wouldn't have been cocky to say hes the best because it was true, or to carry himself that way because he KNEW what he was putting into the game to be on top so he was always very sure of himself. i think kobe is misunderstood as cocky by most people, he shouldve been, what kind of athlete isnt cocky whether on the inside or the outside, you cant be competitive without a certain measure of pride in who you are and what you do, kobe just seems like a very authentic person, so when that was how he felt he exuded that self assured superiority because that was the experience he was having while competing, he was better and he knew it and he was unapologetic about it. he may be humble now but maybe that is another feeling he is having as someone not playing basketball, he could be the same person having a different experience, he's not competing with anyone in this stage of his life so his authenticity comes off as humility, as well as the fact that im sure he has matured alot over the years and he has had time to process things and learn from past experiences. but he comes off to me as a straight shooter who has nothing to hide, he is and has been just being himself

    If this interview doesn't make you like/admire Kobe even more, then you're damn crazy. THIS is what greatness and true love of the game looks like. On top of that, he's so focused, driven and intelligent. I forgot how smart Kobe is. It's awesome what he's doing. He's got class and the utmost respect and love for the game, and is setting an example. You don't see much of this anymore in today's game. I do believe the lack of loyalty to franchises does and has put a stain on the NBA. So, I will disagree with him there. To me loyalty is also one of the ingredients for true greatness.
    So, he's retired and still making an impact. Young players should smarten up and pay attention to one of the GOATS.
