If you keep reacting to Voiceplay (and other acapella groups), you'll pick up a lot of subscribers. [Voiceplay, Pentatonix and Home Free all have dedicated fans, but there's also a lot of overlap.] Several of Voiceplay's vids are just straight singing, but they also have some (particularly Disney material) where they go all-out with costumes and makeup. The lineup you saw in this vid was in effect from 2017-2020. Layne Stein on the left. Formerly the group's baritone, he switched over to beatboxer when they had an opening. But there's no beatboxing needed on this song, so here you have two baritones. Next, Jesse Nunn III (professional name JNone), baritone. Then, Eli Jacobson, 2nd tenor. Then, Earl Elkins Jr., high tenor. Then. Geoff Castellucci, bass. JNone and Earl have left the group, since this was recorded. The group has one new permanent member, and one spot is still open. So they're doing a lot of vids with guest artists. Also, Geoff has his own RUclips channel and since 2020 has been producing solo vids, in most of which he sings all the parts. Yes, he can go high. All of them can go high. Welcome to a giant rabbit hole. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for your reaction! You sound like you'd enjoy Geoff Castellucci's private channel - he is the bass singer here, and he arranged this one. Try Shenandoah or 16 Tons. Now that you've heard them doing a "normal" performance, you should check out one of their epic theatrical performances, like Hoist the Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean, and also one of their comic performances, like their most recent one, "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto. They're all fabulous, but these will give you a quick sense of what they really are capable of.
Really enjoyed your reaction to Voiceplay. They are a very talented, very versatile group with great singers. Almost all of their arrangements are done by either Geoff Castellucci, the bass, or Layne Stein, the beatboxer (none was used in this number) on the far left. Voiceplay have total control of their set design, arrangement, and production. They are very versatile. To see the range of work, try Wicked medley, Hoist the Colours and We Don't Talk About Bruno. Musical theater, high drama and laugh out loud comedy.
Yay! I love watching someone discover VoicePlay. I would recommend "Hoist the Colors" It's theatrical and amazing! One of my favorites. The bass, Geoff, also has his own solo channel with some pretty phenomenal covers
Oh my goodness, which VoicePlay track next? Honestly, you're not going to get a bad pick, regardless of which song you listen to- they are all amazing. It really comes down to what kind of songs you like- and VoicePlay gives you a lot to choose from! They do quite a lot of Disney tunes, and some other theatre pieces (Wicked medley, If I Were A Rich Man/Girl, Phantom of the Opera), as well as rock and pop tunes (such as Carry On Wayward Son, Queen in 5 Minutes, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, True Colors, Bang!, Superstition, etc), and also epic pieces (I don't know how better to describe them; they are legitimate reactor-slayers- these are songs like Hoist the Colours, The Dragonborn Comes, the Halo theme, and My Mother Told Me). Really, VoicePlay has something for everyone, but one element that carries through most of their work is a sense of joy and fun. These are ridiculously talented guys with a good sense of humor, and much of that humor carries over into their music. And I have to second the commenter who said you ought to check out Geoff Castellucci's solo channel (he's the bass vocalist). He has a phenomenal range, and in his solo work he multi-tracks his voice so that he sings in 4 and 5 part harmonies with himself-- the result is breathtaking.
I started listening to acapella groups with Pentatonix, then I found Voiceplay. Voiceplay just blew the competition into the void. They go all out with their main productionds, set, make-up, lighting and even get into character for their parts in a medley. Check out "The Greatest Showman Medley" by Voiceplay to see how dedicated they are, they built the entire set themelves for that video and it is awesome.
The next best songs to react to from them would be Hoist the Colours and We Don't Talk About Bruno to get a good idea of the range and quality of music they offer.
If you like this kind of slow, beautiful song, then you should check out True Colors. They also do a lot of fantastic Disney covers. And if you want something more epic (and wanna hear how low the bass can actually go), check out My Mother Told Me
I think you have to be deaf or heartless to not fall in love with these guys. They are phenomenal and that's one of the most beautiful songs, True Colours is another in a pure harmony style. with no vocal percussion. Layne, on the far left has a soft sweet voice but most provides vocal percussion for the group. Hard to know what to suggest, they do wonderful Disney medleys, but so much more. The first one I ever saw them do was Tennessee Whisky and the harmonies, runs and Geoff's bass just blew me away. I've been a firm fan ever since. If you like drama, Hoist The Colours, or The Dragonborn Comes are epic.
@@ReBorNxTacTic, you have to remember, though, that's on-mic, using subharmonics, and with processing. I have no problem with that, to clarify. But off-mic, Geoff's lowest note is an F#1... that's still nearly half an octave lower than an average bass singer, though.
Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole. Any song you hear will blow you away. If you love bass try Hoist the Colors, if I Were a Rich Man/Girl, My Mother Told Me, Halo Theme …
Que alegria te encontrar aqui entre os fa~s do VoicePlay! Gosto muito deste conjunto, e gostei demais da sua reassao! Espero ver muitas mais! Abrassos!
It’s really interesting to compare the vocals and production values between this and some of their more recent work. It seems like during the quarantine, these guys realized that touring was off the table, and decided to really zero in on the videos and ratchet up the quality. Geoff, especially, sounds great here, but when you listen to his more recent material, it’s obvious he’s really been putting in a lot of work. And the sound, lighting, and stagecraft is insane today. They dropped this video about two years ago. I highly recommend that you go from here to something like Little Mermaid Medley and Oogie Boogie’s song (those are a year or so ago) and then to The Dragonborn Comes and We Don’t Talk About Bruno. You’ll see what I’m talking about. In between there are some really amazing pieces, like If I Were A Rich Man/Girl, Hoist the Colours, My Mother Told Me, Halo Theme…. You’re in for a really amazing ride with these guys! Great reaction-stay tuned to Voiceplay!
Geoff Castellucci is a truly spectacular basso profundo. His vocal range spans 6 octaves... B0- A5. He has been gradually increasing his vocal range as he practices his chosen profession. He specializes in subharmonic notes.
If you keep listening to VoicePlay and Geoff who is the bass you will hear even lower notes. The lowest note he's hit was on the Halo theme. So I would totally recommend that. I would also recommend Oogie Boogie's Song, Hoist the Colours, Dragonborn Comes. From Geoff Castellucci's solo channel I would recommend 16 Tons, Big Bad John, Shenandoah, High and Dry.
there are so many voiceplay songs out there.. as for your reaction to there bass singer Geoff (pronounced Jeff) this video did no show his range (5+ octave) and has been able to do a G-1 pure chest his full range is B 0 - A 5 . Voiceplay has changed a few members over the past few years so you will see diffrent faces if you continue with them . in this video left to right is Layne Stein (Vocal Percussion) J.None (left group) Eli Jacobson (Tenor) , Earl Ekins (left group) and Geoff Castellani (bass) (pronounced Jeff) . It is hard to say were to go from here on Voiceplay Personally i think a past to current if your up to that many videos covering them. If you are just trying them out I would say there most recent video "we dont talk about Bruno" is another good place... Geoff also has his own channel where he uses multiple copies of himself 4+ (i think 7 is the most i have seen) he dose many nice videos... other bands similar to Voicplay are Pentatonix and Home Free
AAAHHHH can't wait till you see Layne lipping out some spit, Geoff dropping into his dungeon, Eli rockin' your socks off and Caesar charming you with his smoothies. AAAAHHHH it's going to be a wild ride....AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Based on your reaction, I thought you would have reacted to more VoicePlay. You have to hear Hoist the Colours, My Mother Told Me, and Oogie Boogie’s Song. They will change your life!
This is one of my favorite VoicePlay videos because they are just singing. They also do many theatrical videos you might enjoy. Try “The Little Mermaid medley” Thanks for your reaction
Hi. I want you to know that Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci sings much lower than what you saw. He is one of the founders of Voiceplay, but he also has his own channel where he sings solo. You have to see them. Voice plays cover of the Metallica song “Nothing Else Matters” is one you have to watch. On Jeff’s channel you can find him singing “sound of silence” by Simon and Garfunkel. Many others. You’ve got to listen to them! Unbelievable!! 😊
So... whos going to tell her about 16 Tons? During lockdown, Geoff (the bass) started posting his own covers... normally called Bass or Low Bass Covers. His cover of the nearly century old 16 Tons song demonstrates how powerful his voice can be. But welcome to Voiceplay.
Fantastic reaction. Can you react to VoicePlays song. Warrior (imagine Dragons) please its amazing. Layne beatboxes while playing a violin at the same time xx
Welcome to the a cappella rabbit hole, which is 4 different rabbit holes: Voiceplay (the "theatre kids" of the a cappella), Home Free (more "country", but not only), and Pentatonix, as groups, plus Geoff (pronounced "Jeff") Castellucci, Voiceplay bass singer, who has his own channel where he sings a cappella with "copies" of himself. :-D What next with Voiceplay... I second what others have suggested already, try one for every different style they have. True Colours for the pure a cappella harmonies, like this one was. Any of the series from "Nightmare before Christmas", and particularly "Boogie Boogie Song", for the "Halloween Theatre" style. Any Disney Medley (Moana, The Little Mermaid...) or even better "We don't talk about Bruno" (from "Encanto") for humour and fun with fantastic singing skills. And then the epic line, mostly from video games or movies: The Dragonborn comes, Hoist the Colours, My Mother told Me, Warriors (imagine Dragons), and one that has a special place in my heart, the Halo Theme. Listen to the secondo part, after the song, where Scott Porter, the guest artist but also one of the founders of Voiceplay and the original beatboxer, explains the reasons behind the video... You'll know what I mean. :-) But don't forget to check Geoff's channel. He's got some stunning solo work. "Far over the Misty Mountains Cold", for example. Or "16 tons", and his last "Big Bad John", or The House of the Rising Sun, or "Shenandoah", "Blackbird" (yes, the Beatles' song), or "High and Dry". And he's got a number of funny, light Halloween numbers as well, like Monster Mash or The Headless Horseman. And much, much more. :-) Plus, Pentatonix and Home Free. BTW, they have amazing talented singers, and great bass singers, too... ;-) There's even a really funny video featuring both Voiceplay and Home Free, "Survivor - Zombies vs Hillbillies". They are friends, and the video is a gag, beside the vocal performance. Love it. :-) Loved your reaction. Your face expressions say it all. It's always beautiful to watch the first reaction to Voiceplay, and I appreciated how you managed it all. I'll try following your stuff.
You can't go wrong with Voiceplay. My own suggestions are The Little Mermaid Medley and Carry on Wayward Son. The bass, Geoff Castellucci has his own channel. I would recommend starting with Blackbird or 16 Tons.
Dear you need to experience voice play friend on the other side. Or my mother told me. Or Geoff Castiluchy. Does solo work start w headless horseman the bass will hook you I promise
Being an original artist is great if you don't have to worry about putting food on the table and have a record label to support you. A capella is already a niche field - trying to make it on original music only (and VoicePlay does have some - mostly older stuff) wouldn't have gotten them through the pandemic where they couldn't even tour. In any case, often covers are vastly better than the originals and the world would be a poorer place without them (see: Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt", Tennessee Ford's cover of "Sixteen Tons" and half of Elvis' catalogue)
If you keep reacting to Voiceplay (and other acapella groups), you'll pick up a lot of subscribers. [Voiceplay, Pentatonix and Home Free all have dedicated fans, but there's also a lot of overlap.]

There are definitely lower voices than Geoff, the bass, but not very many who have his vocal control over a 5 octave range.
Not many, mans has hit a B0

As others have pointed out, Geoff has been very vocal about supporting reaction channels, no need to shift the pitch of the song. Great reaction btw!
PLEASE DO MORE REACTION TO VOICEPLAY 😀😀😀

베이스인가 ? 컨트롤 장난 없다 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Geoffcastelucci is te bass singer...but he can go way way lower...he is impressive to be sure.
All these cover groups are made for you to and that's it and that's as far as you'll ever go. Write your own music then see how great you are
I love you. 🥰
why is the pitch higher than the original????????
You haven't heard nothing yet you need to experience my mother told me. Geoff the bass shows off alittle
why is there an eq or a pitch???? Its all Higher and 🤮😪
Why is this the only VoicePlay you have reacted to???? Get unto VoicePlay!!!! You will pick up subscribers and learn a whole new era of accapella!!!!!
You ain't seen not in yet
All these cover groups are so overrated. Doesn't anybody write their own music anymore to be a true artist.
