20 years old & still better than 95% of anything new in music!!
It has such a futuristic musical blend. It was released in 2003 but it doesn’t even sound 2024, it’s sounds like 2075
Agree
If someone said it was written yesterday not ten years ago you would belive it.
Still true :-)
Hybrid was always always ahead of his time. Symphony is the same way. And that was written in 99
Were now in 2021 and it still sounds as good, if not better!
@@nicholassacco9077 Hybrid is a band lol
@@doncarloancelotti2256 whoops
Who's still listening to this in 2023....? I heard this song for the first time in a kaelthas TBC boss fight video lol so so long ago....
The world is still not ready.
Still
**Lyrics**
It's a little too easy to live and learn
But those breaks are scarce
So take some time out
To look back and see how you fared
The right is always the wrong
And the short's always the long
The hardest thing about refrain
Is now I can only save face
To deny yourself is so true to form
You spend most of your days wishing you were never born
To deny yourself is so true to form
You spend most of your days wishing you were never born
Face down in what you know
You'll never come up for air
Close the door
I've had about as much as I can bear
The right is always the wrong
And the short's always the long
The hardest thing about refrain
Is now I can only save face
To deny yourself is so true to form
You spend most of your days wishing you were never born
To deny yourself is so true to form
You spend most of your days wishing you were never born
oh my god, I'm listening to this again with new headphones, i litterally want to cry this sounds so good.
Not far off 2021 and I still listen to this album
Same! 👍
2021 and it’s still a tune 🙌
Hybrid has become the soundtrack for my entire life. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU forever....
I feel you mean. There is only one song I listened to more than a thousand times during my lifetime - Formula of Fear. any remix, as well as original mix. There is no way that I will ever get tired of listening Hybrid.
and Kosheen x
and New Order
And Elton. Guess you know I love music but not dubstep.
I still listen to this over and over, is one of my favorite songs of all time, 2018, still amazing!
TreborYl Agreed.

Always will be a classic to me .....
My good taste in MUSIC bought me here.
Some of the best music I have ever EVER heard!!!!!!!
This makes me feel like I'm driving in the Aston Martin
The world wasn't ready for this beat invasion. Don't stop
Hybrid is and will be one of my most beloved artists in all the time. This piece was just too ahead for its time.
My dad showed me this when I was like 6, I still love it today 💝
Your DAD showed you this? best dad ever pls trade me =p
The best song i discovered during the pandemic
WoW...I have been listening to this song for 7 years now...I still love it as much as I did the 1st time
Used to listen to this all the time when I was in late teens. Mind used to go off and think about all sorts.
I remember hearing this in my car on KCRW way back. First thought was "dang! these guys sound like New Order!" Should have known there is only one Hooky, and that's all there ever will be. Second thought was "I absolutely have to find out what song that was as soon as I get back to me computer". Really like the drumming that starts to fade in around 1:55 and then crescendos - very "taiko"-ish.
Its like they can see in my soul
man, this is from 2003, I just discovered now. this is cool.
2021!! #hybrid
2024! 🦾
TOOK ME FOREVER TO FIND THIS SONG BUT MY BRAIN FINALLY REMEMBERED IT!!!!!!!!!
2024 and still a masterpiece.
I saw them (with Peter Hook) play at the House Of Blues in Orlando back in ‘03.
I discovered Hybrid through Formula 1 99-02 Game Soundtrack and the song that made me feel different was Gravastar. I am so thankful to have discovered Hybrid, such a luck! Thanks F1! By the way, perfect driving song!
His voice is Angelic..
Stumbled across this great track although I do fear there is a hint of new order in there. Nice work
why ? "hint of new order in there"
I try to understand the whole lyrics in my point of view but i can´t.
With Peter Hook on bass, it will do
Peter Hook... Was kinda part of New Order.. lol
I listen to Hybrid while writing scripts. I feel as if it channels my inner writing guru. Amazing feeling.
VinceLA91 ha no way, i used to play their stuff when i were writing screenplays. They definitely get the creative juices flowing!
I need more music from the amazing vocalist!!
Blasting this in the office on my headphones. Wished I had a sound system here instead.😁
Hybrid are so timeless❤
The name's Bond.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good....that is all
P.S. the live version that they performed from Maida Vale Studios on Radio 1 (I think?) was dope! Better than the album version, IMHO, as it was a little bit more raw and less polished.
This would’ve made an amazing Bond film theme tune.
Love this trak
Stands strong 9 yrs later
Imo
Incredible Hybrid since the beginning till here just before they fell apart and became more mainstream.
Without Chris
michael bliss exactly
Hook certainly brings a New Order flavour to the track
why ? "hint of new order in there"
I try to understand the whole lyrics in my point of view but i can´t.
Makes me dance really hard and cry really hard. Hybrid is GOD
I love the mismatch of vocals and music!
Absolute quality Banger
L0ng L1ve Chris & H00kY!!

Peter Hook of New Order is on the track.

So, did you take the red pill.. or the blue pill?
This would fit with batman
The dislike was obviously accidental.
like i said technically i never was born
I remember how much I looked forward to this album, and then how disappointed I was when I heard this first track. Moody teenager lyrics and that bloody awful Peter Hook contribution wedged clumsily into it. There are a few good tracks on Morning Sci Fi but it has none of the style and natural flow of Wide Angle.
So why are you here? Its an amazing track. I love the fact every album is so different
Terrible take..
porn brought me here lol jk
This whole album was such a massive disappointment after Wide Angle, which was a classic IMO. This guy is just not a good vocalist.
I adore this guy's vocals
And i prefer this album to wide angle
Lewis, I seem to be one of the few people commenting who agree with you. You're right, the moment I heard the first few lines of this opening track I knew the album was inferior to Wide Angle. There are a few good tracks (all instrumental, no coincidence) but some real letdowns too. That one with the toe curlingly awful lyric 'cutting the voltage to your power line' still makes me cringe even thinking about it!
