I bought several NHMTG magazines with the Magpul anti tilt followers already installed from 44 mag a few years ago. In early 2019, 44 mag went out of business. They were the only place that I knew of where you could get NHMTG mags. I never had any problem with ordering from them. 44 mag was a great company. I know that they will be missed.
I will never sell those magazines because as far as I know, you can’t get them anymore.

From the forums I've read NHMTG was manufactured by Okay industries. Okay also made the production colt mags from what I heard as well as being one of the co-developers of the 30rd AR mag. I have an NHMTG mag with non anti-tilt and just a few minutes ago I got back from the post office with my new Okay SureFeed mags. You can't tell the difference. SureFeed is just their civilian name for the mags but they're milspec grey with the same magpul anti-tilt followers.

Hurricane-I also have read that NHMTG magazines were made by Okay Industries. I’ve got a few of them and I wouldn’t sell them for any price. I don’t know if you can get NHMTG mags anymore.

@@GryphonIndustrial yep, okay industries makes colt mags and also made nhmtg mags(all have the same okay industries cage code 33710). Nhmtg was their civilian production brand name sold through 44mag, but have since dropped the name and went into civilian production for themselves under the name "surefeed" (not to be confused with Surefire). Save some money and buy the okay surefeeds if you want, same mag and quality. They also make the new surefeed "e2" mags which have been gtg so far.

@@muddyhotdog4103 I had just got in a batch of 7 new production Okay SureFeed mags when I originally posted. Still haven't got to the range with them but I wanted GI aluminum mags and everyone said get Okay.

@@GryphonIndustrial for sure, if you're going to get usgi mags then okay production magazines are the best imo(whether it be colt, nhmtg, or surefeed). D&h are alright too, although they seem to me to be more flimsy and have sharper edges. But haven't had many issues with them in terms of performance. I've had problems with c products and acs with a few that were out of spec. Never had any problems with Okay made magazines. I like to keep half pmags and half usgi mags of good quality myself for specific reasons.

I feel like Lancer magazines have set the new standard. They’re polymer bodies with steel feed lips, they weigh less than pmags, they don’t have the huge bottom plates, and they stack like metal mags. I’m also pretty sure they take up less space than any other mag I know of, and they’re certainly as reliable as (or even more so) any other kind of mag you can compare it to. I have one and it’s my favorite mag. Check them out.

White Wild fuck promag. It’s pmag or okay industries surefeed (or other usgi but that’s my favorite). Anything else, including lancers, just haven’t worked as well for me

Since the US Military uses Magpul I would call them milspec. The stainless, as far as I know, are not milspec.

I've always loved the milspec aluminum mags, but they are more susceptible to damage, I've also ran magpul for years and love the design and ergonomics of them, yet they are harder to fit in milspec gear. When I first got into ar15s in the early 80s I always used milspec surplus aluminum mags with the black follower and never had a malfunction, then later with the green follower and the tan follower and still never had a malfunction

Most of the mags I was issued were Okay Industries and they always worked flawlessly. They are also minimally lighter weight than Pmags. Every ounce counts to me. If you do a clone M16 of any sort it just looks like an insult if you run plastic mags. That being said Pmags works great.

I don't mess with nothing else but the aluminum STANAG Magazines, though some of my ARs came with Polymers, but I just have em in a box somewhere underneath other AR stuff I swap out. Seems to be a yearly thing to build, swap out, rebuild with the latest stuff...shits addicting...lol

    •  8 лет назад

+Richard babcock if done right, one hole all the way through near the mag well could be used as a low rounds indicator. it is also inviting trash in the mix though.

    • @richardlahan7068

You could just buy the Gen 2 or Gen 3 PMAGs with the window. No drilling required. Holes will allow dirt into the magazine.

Being old school, I go with the metal mags. Since PSA has them with the Magpul follower, yeah baby.
Picked up a dozen of them.
PSA had a 10 pack with 100 rounds of 556 55 grain for 90, so yeah.
Use the poly 20 rounders with my AR pistol instead.

Milspec.Cheaper, more available, and fit in most mag carriers. Had to stretch out using poly mags because their dimensions are different than milspec. Change out with a anti tilt follower and new spring you're going to have a very reliable mag.

What about the "Lancer L5" mags with steel lips & mag catch notch? Never used them, but sounds good. Stronger than aluminum & plastic where you need it, but lighter than steel body mag.

Anti-tilt metal mags. Custom gun? Strip it of coating and polish, maybe throw a baseplate on there. Done. Duty gun? As is. They're physically smaller than Pmags, fit in other STANAG based guns better, there's obviously the stacking advantage, and, I've recently been told that polymer mags will do this thing called "outgassing" and supposedly won't be any good anymore and that happens after a decade or so.
Only thing I could complain about personally is that the metal mags don't have a continuous curve, and the 20 and 10 rounders aren't curved, either. If they did that, however...

My rifle doesn't like 30 round Pmag's, they don't drop free. Everything else i've tried so far does. 10 round Pmag drops free, haven't tried a 20 round yet.
