For anyone who think he speeds up videos: -He has nearly doubled the required hours to reach “expert” level for a skill, so he should be able to play quite a bit faster than whatever speed seems “normal”. -Imagine working on a project for multiple hours a day-just to have people claim it’s fake/sped up when you finally master it. -Have some respect for someone who has dedicated 19+ years to a craft for your listening enjoyment. Maybe its time to bring back the little bobble head or a wall clock so you don’t have to deal with stuff like this! Keep on jammin’ Kyle
WOW!! This is, in many ways, the performance of my arrangement that was previously only in my imagination. My original cover was pushing the limits of what I could play so I had to mostly focus on just hitting all the notes. It is fascinating to listen to the ways you expanded and added on more material, and inspiring to hear the smoothness that you played with to truly bring out the emotion of the piece. There were so many parts where I was just thinking, YES! (3:44 - so much energy! 5:00 - those were the kinds of runs I originally had in mind!) It is my goal to one day be able to play like this...thank you for being an inspiration to both myself, and I'm sure, countless other pianists out there!
Thank you so so so much for your arrangement. It's so incredibly accurate to the score! You'll notice I did play quite a bit of it note-for-note your arrangement, but changed some parts to my style :)
aSongScout kyle always blows me away in the same sense. he keeps emotion or adds emotion in such a way he is incredibly talented. he makes me feel every piece so hard
Hey Kyle, I'm sitting here listening to this with my son when he asks me " do you know him?" .... I never put much thought into it until now, but I just realized I've been listening to you since my high school years. I've listened to you on my good and bad days. I listened to you the day my son was born , and on a very long, lonesome ride home from my dad's funeral. So no.. I don't know you and you don't know me, but you have been apart of my life for 6 years without me ever realizing. Keep on playing, you are truly amazing at what you do ♥️♥️♥️.
It's been some time since I've fell in love with movie music like I did with La La Land, so thank you to Justin Hurwitz for the beautiful music, and aSongScout for the incredibly accurate arrangement to base mine off of. I hope you enjoy this video! Update: I'm having someone help me turn the midi into two hands so that way we can have separate colors for the Synthesia video! Expect to see it in the coming days! I also have an artist contracted and ready to go for the artwork, so expect to see this on Spotify, Apple music, and the like within the next 4 weeks. Love you all, Kyle Sheets for La La Land! mnot.es/2sXzZ92
After years and years of watching, you still seem to amaze me. Almost every time new piano patterns. Incredible! You were the reason why I started my own RUclips channel. Thank you for this incredible journey!
Man listening to this makes me feel like I am watching the movie again, like my brain is going through the muscle memory of feeling what I felt when I watched it. La La Land was a fucking masterpiece in its capacity to tell a story with music.
Ok, so now a serious comment: I haven‘t seen the movie yet but this makes me want to watch it immediately. Guess I‘ll do so if I get the chance, lol. Absolutely sick performance, I wish I could arrange as well as you do. The runs, jumps and ornaments you include into your arrangements are incredible, I wish I could come up with stuff like that as well. So inspirational!
Kyle, Im not gonna lie. You are the reason I started piano two years ago at 26 yrs old. I loved every composition youve made. My first song from you was Merry Go round of life. Im now two years in and feeling a little bit more courage to start learning more intense sheet music. Im currently trying to learn Merry Go Round of life from the original sheet music along with this song - which this is my holy grail of playing right now. I wish you the best - behind my father, you are my role model for piano playing. I think I cried as I followed along to you playing with the sheet music. Best to you.
What I absolutely definitely really like about you Kyle is, that you actually put passion and show it... I've seen very few pianist RUclipsrs (youtuber pianists?) who actually play with their... well everything... With their soul and not like robots... Or like only hand moving...and worrying about doing it "perfect", and they don't look like having fun at all...... But you look absolutely like "I don't care if i mess up, i'm having the time of my life", for real... One thing is playing nicely, no mistakes and all that jazz... and other things is playing nicely and passionately... And again... There are very few pianist on youtube that show the passion... That's why you and vikagoeswild are my favourite youtuber pianists (pianist youtubers?) Keep that up Kyle! (:
I won't blame the people who THINK it's sped up just because 3:42 really does look unnatural. But think about it for a moment. He suddenly increases keys per second and the music picks up an incredibly fast pace in mere seconds. It's obvious that his hands do have to move faster. Now to his body movement, if you pay attention throughout the video you notice that he will move his body and bop his head according to the pace of the music and according to how strong or light he has to hit the keys. He is FEELING the music while playing. I believe that he is a very hard-working pianist with much passion to boot, don't blame him if he doesn't have a 60fps camera since that's not what we here for. Keep doing what you're doing, Kyle. 'been your loyal listener for years, greeting from Austria!
Thanks for the support! believe it or not, I've tried 60fps (my old camera even had it) and to be honest, it's not meant for piano videos. It truly made it look sped up, even had me thinking like what?! -- I do 30 frames in 4k now :)
Thanks for the support, but to be fair, I did have 60fps back then, and I chose not to use it because people accused me of speeding things up even more when I do 60 frames because it really looks unnatural with 60. Now that I have a nicer camera, 30fps 4k is best and it looks so much more natural.
Yes, he is on the top, with animenz, theishter and marasy8. If you're looking for a really underrated pianist on youtube, check the phyxinon's channel ;)

Not to fan boy but since I've seen the movie and definitely relates to me, this is in my top 5 ever. Even if it takes my whole life time to play this section by section, every year. I'm gonna do it! Actually I've started!

I wish I could play like him. Most days i just end up watching your videos because there is no other pianist on youtube who compares to your skill and passion. Youve helped me through some hard times and I cant thank you enough. I love you kyle!!!
i loved your cover of Howl’s Moving Castle’s Merry-Go-Round of Life (i listened to it religiously and practiced it almost everyday i’m so in love with it-) and now this? my all time favourite film, La La Land’s Epilogue! pretty sure everyone has said it but listening to this brought me back to the film- the ending literally played in my head- and i got goosebumps in a good way! i’m still trying to master Merry-go-round of life but i know what piece i am going to pick up next. thank you for this =)
I finally got around to watching la la land and I must say this is by far the most fluid piano covers I've seen, with transitions in all the right places you really captured the essence of each song. Fantastic work as always!!!
This reminds me Sebastian’s images and gives me goose bumps. I’m so fascinated to see your style of playing, emotional dancing and devoting spirit to the world of LaLaLand. Thank you for your gifts!

I’m a south korean student whose dream is to be a composer. You are my favorite musician. I want to get the same sheet music that is shown in this video. Please. I have studied English for three months to write this comments. Please.. please...
Hey, just because you worked so hard, I will give you a copy when my transcriber finishes working on it. It should be another month or so. Thank you for being a fan
Lol there's a thing called google translate... And learning English in 3 months? woah dude I'm not tryna be rude or anything but that's fcking extremely hard. Unless you were stuck in your house learning English 24/7 there's no way. Plus, a Korean student? you probs had to study other subjects too other than English. My point if that, if you actually learned English in 3 months, huge shoutouts to you my man.
@@i_flawlesschris22 True that Koreans have a lot of other subjects to study. In fact they study so hard they rank the top in global international exams. But English is learnt as a second language from a really young age. Most Koreans do speak some basic english to start off with. Studying a bit more on top of that will give you a reasonable enough level to write a comment.
@@andrew_li Eh, well honestly I agree with you. Since my nationality is also Korean although I moved to Luxembourg when I was 7.
However, my comment was just my thought on what he/she said, I was just amazed how he/she could have learned English in such a short period of time even if he/she already had a background knowledge set up.
Since it would have taken me at least a year to be able to even write a comment like that in English.
(Well, my point is that I was just impressed. )
Now hope you have a good day,
Hola

That's amazing. After your phenomal work with Inception's time, one of my favorite songs, you had my respect. I didn't think you could improve anymore, but you have moved past the expert stage Mr. Landry. This is beyond epic proportions. You rank among the greatest musicians I know. Thank you for your service to the art of music and influencing me and a lot of other people.
Please keep it coming, never stop using this beautiful gift you have.
I salute you.
Lars

I feel like I can feel the emotions you are feeling through your playing. That's just pure talent.
Pre-Movie Me:
"Yeah well you know I'm just watching this because it's just an assignment my teacher gave me, I'm pretty sure it's just going to be exactly like The Greatest Showman" or something"
Post-Movie Me:
"Oh god oh fuq my dreams dude, why the hell am I crying and all anxious about my future oh god oh fuq"
와.. 영화 한 편을 본 것 같았어요. 처음부터 마지막까지 몰입해서 들었습니다. 감정의 미세한 표현까지 정말 완벽한 연주네요!
5:00 got me like "GOd?"
The change of tempo into city of stars is so well executed after the glissando. It’s beautiful. Brother you are fucking ace
