  • The father of many nations is also the father of two covenants. Why is there two covenants? Does it matter that I know this? And what is my experience with the law of God?

Those who think they’re “good people” better get themselves close to the word of God, because the closer one gets to the word of God, more we know that no one is good people.
    Romans 3:10-12 (NIV)
    “As it is written:
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away,
they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good not even one.”
    Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV)
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
    James 3:6 (KJV)
“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”
    Romans 7:24-25 (KJV)
“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
    Galatians 6:7 (KJV)
    Joel 2:12-13 (KJV)
“Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.”
    Jeremiah 4:8-10 (KJV)
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
    Numbers 23:19 (KJV)
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
    Ezekiel 33:11-13 (KJV)
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
    Ezekiel 18:23-24 (KJV)
“But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.”
    2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
    Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
    Romans 7:7 (KJV)
“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”
    1 John 3:4 (KJV)
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
    James 2:10 (NIV)
“For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”
