@@mounsterchef I'm from Ireland and plenty of people here owned one. It was more successful in English-speaking countries for some reason. It flopped hard in Japan - but it sold well in America and England.
The Dreamcast was a vision of the future, and I'm glad people nowadays are able to appreciate what it did for the gaming industry in the long-run.
Exactly with how they seceded with online games it's what we have now in days. What i mean it was the first online console and we have online consoles to this day.

If COD wasnt online they'd have still been great games. Just look at the first few. They were excellent WWII campaigns. Hell does COD even have campaigns anymore? XD

That’s unbelievable, GameCube had just 30 FPS and Xbox too, that generation was just of 30 fps, then the 60 FPS started on wii (in short words, on the 7th generation) but it is incredible how Sega made a 1999 console have 60 fps

What a legend, the general design of shenmue II was really incredible for a console of the late 90's

If Sega hadn’t already failed with the Saturn, this could’ve had a lot of potential. Which it already did, but the Saturn wasn’t helping much.
Sega downfall was already beginning with the 32x add on

Sega's downfall started when they released the Sega CD, they were already going downhill before the Saturn release.

I had a Dreamcast back in the day, so many good memories playing Sonic Adventure games, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone 2, The Shenmue's, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Skies Of Arcadia (One of the best and most underrated RPG ever made). The only bad thing was the controller D-Pad it was awfully stiff because it had all the directions in one piece

I remember when I saw the graphics go from N64 PS1 to Sega dreamcast it blew my mind I was like 12 years old. In my mind at the time the graphics looked “real” the dreamcast did have some amazing games.

What an absolute fantastic machine. Didn't need mod chipping and has the best line up of launch titles to date on any console.
I'm 40 years old and this is still my fave console of all time . I had Every fighting game they came out on Dreamcast. Love it

What? I remember half life was cancelled and only a alpha unreleased version existed for the dreamcast
This takes me back to the good old days. My brother and I playing RE2 during October beating it on a cold stormy night eating a Pizza Hut deep dish. I remember my mom wouldn’t buy us the game because of the “M” rating. Funny enough my brother traded a kid some nudie mags we swiped from our older cousins house for it at school. We had to wait for my mom and dad to go out one Friday night to play it. That feeling, man. Oh what I’d give to be put back in that moment of time to feel that nostalgia again. October of 1998 was my year. I was in 7th grade, My first kiss at the Halloween dance and went to second base, my dad got a big promotion earlier in February at work and we moved into a bigger house in October and I got my own room, my mom actually let me and my brother go trick or treating with our friends without my big sis having to go with us, the new neighborhood we moved into was high end and we got the big sized candy, and finally on my way back home I spotted a wallet on the sidewalk with 200 and something dollars and no ID so the morality of returning it went out the window and 200$ to me at that age was basically 2 million dollars. Good times.

Family got me one back in 2002 and I had quite the extensive English collection. Favorite game was a toss-up between Power Stone 2 for multiplayer or Skies of Arcadia for solo.

Sega underrated the console themselves, when they heard that the ps2 coming out, they quickly try to sell all of the console but of course it dont work.

That American Dreamcast box is so nostalgic. I got the Dreamcast in the Xmas of 99 and it was glorious. I remember owning it and had friends at school who had it. I was surprise in 2001 that SEGA was not going to support the Dreamcast anymore and that they were out of the console business cause I think for what its worth it was a good system with good games.

I loved this console! I remember my Dad buying it when it first came out and playing Sonic, Soulcalibur, toy commander, nhl and a whole bunch more. It was so sad that sony took over. The dreamcast was superior to ps in the graphics department.

A full box is 120$ as I saw,and a dreamcast is like 34$ seperately.
There are dedicated retro games stores all over Japan, and especially in smaller non-franchise stores you can find older consoles for sale (I saw a Wii on its own, no cables or controller, on sale for ¥600 [that's about $6 lol] in a small games store in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo). But you're not gonna walk into just any old store and find a Dreamcast

¿Qué un Dreamcast 2 no sería como una consola más pequeña en lugar de una consola de nueva generación, algo asi como la SMS II o la Genesis II?
Me imagino que algún día regresaran, pero ya pinta feo para esta generación y la época el que SEGA se relance al mercado de las consolas. El interés parecería mayor pero descendería a niveles catastróficos.
