    There's no question that Range Rovers offered both elegance and amazing off-road ability, but all of those things are forgotten when you're running late to work, and it won't start.

    18" rims used to be the biggest in the industry but now you can find them on most family sedans

      its a trick, you have to look at the aspect ratio of the tire, you will notice the tires increasingly going lower profile so the increases in size aren't as large as they may initially seem.

      The only wheel size you could get in the early 2000's Lexus GX was 17". Now 18s are standard, 19s are optional.

    The SUV that might have helped the mainstream suvs like Explorer, Tahoe, ML320, and GMC Yukon get more luxurious! Definitely raised the benchmark posh SUV stakes!

    Regardless of their mechanical issues they are all about the journey not the destination. One of the best rides ever produced.

    I've had several Land Cruisers over the years and are by far my favorite but I did buy a used 96 Ranger Rover around 1999. I loved the way it looked and drove, what I didn't like is it seemed there was always some kind of issues. Mostly A/C issues and then I had to change the thermostat, I think just the part was $150. I would still like to have one of the 1st Gen Range Rovers and drop an LS engine it. Great looking 4x4s.

    I have a problem with starting the car . I diagnosed it and gave this result : p1121 $0000 1/1. Range Rover 4.6HSE 1998 model. I cleared the code but the security light continue to beam.

      Yes. Pre-BMW/pre-Ford/pre-Tata Land Rovers and Range Rovers especially were always electrical nightmares.

    The 96 Tahoe and suburban got a new 5.7 vortec that made 250hp and 335torque......sad that a luxury brand like Range Rover had a weaker engine then something so common like a suburban or Tahoe

    I blacked out the lettering on my 97 Pathfinder and put Range Rover lettering on it and it's amazing to see how many people are fooled..
    They do look very similar..
    It has 240k miles on it which is more that you would ever get from an actual Range Rover..😏

      +MrMcKane outdated in a 1990s way. the previous model from the 70s is a classic and looks sharp even today. problem is, with all the short term trends in styling, cars look like shit in no time flat

      +MrCarGuy20 Are you absolutely positive about that? You can still find many GM SUV's of this vintage roaming the streets but i can't recall ever seeing a Range Rover older than three years old in running condition. Unfortunately, I'm not joking.

      +MrCarGuy20 funny because I still see dozens of early 90's Suburbans and Blazers everyday, but just like Sawashi32 said, the only Land Rover/ Range Rover I ever see are brand new ones. Its almost like they are junk or something and don't last.

      Must be were you are in the world. Here in South Africa there are thousands of old Land Rovers still roaming around. My next door neighbour has a 1949 series 1.

      my dads got a p38 hse and it is still working, has a brake issue at the moment but that "unreliable" air suspension works perfectly fine and is as good as new
