I once watched a reaction of a Vocal Coach to this song and he had reacted to a lot of EXO and more and he said that this is the most vocally complex and hardest song to sing out of all Kpop Songs he has ever heard! And yes, as you said EXO never lipsyncs I mean why would they being this stable, good & skilled live? But a lot of Kpop groups lipsync, or for a lot of Kpop groups there aren‘t live performances of Concerts that are this ICONIC. Because EXO makes every stage, every performance ICONIC. Some comments for you. 1 in What is love, Baekhyun sang the high notes at the end and D.O. sang in rapsy voice and gave off R&B vibe in the song 2 EXO does different genres of music and R&B is one of their strength. Those adlibs and runs are usually given to D.O. because he is the best in these fields plus R&B 3 though D.O. is one of the 3 main vocal in EXO, he debuted as an actor and doing very well so he doesn't get as many solo songs as the other 2 main vocal, Baekhyun and Chen 4 So every Exol is hoping a solo album of D.O., esp a R&B album 5 EXO did lip sync before and they were during their debut rookies day. It was forced by SM, their company just to make flawless and perfect performance. But no more lip sync after debut. They may have some part with backtrack playing as an aid to support songs with hard choreo, but most of the time they sing live. They have many ballads and slow songs, accustic performances which you can tell they are real live singing without any autotune. 6 They are well acclaimed as vocal king as you also know, it is very risky for them to rely on backtrack, autotune or even lip sync. I doubt they will ruin their reputation that stupid.
