- Can we still go wild camping at bamford Edge in the peak district ?
I was unsure if wild camping was allowed to happen at bamford Edge in the peak district.
so I went to see what would happen, and i spent a night tent camping.
hiking and wild camping across the peak district starting at bamford Edge.

I feel that there is a small army of people out there who have been inspired to go camping Dan. Thank you for the video.
Due to channel’s like yours, it inspired me to do my first solo circular walk in the Brecon Beacons, no camping, but 10 miles under my belt, nice weather boosted my map reading confidence.
Went camping first time in 40 years… certainly makes me appreciate more of what you do…thanks Dan🙂
When I did it the first time after a very long time, it brought back all the lovely memories of past camps and the adventures involved. I sure it did the same for you.
Great video Dan. Awesome sunset AND sunrise. Glad you went and very glad you decided to take us with you. Thanks.
Well done picking yourself up and getting out, its definitely not easy to find the motivation, the location and views were definitely worth it in the end though, glad you didnt get moved on. Keep the great videos coming 👍
Dan, this is exactly the video I was looking for. I've been wanting to do something similar myself for a long time but anxiety and apprehension keeps holding me back. Being up in the hills and mountains appeals to me so much more than the woodland areas and your videos just spur me on to want to get out more. I've been waiting for you to do something like this to see how you found it and hopefully push me to "be that person" Thanks Dan. As always a great video, broadcast from the heart. Awesome!
Awesome video Dan. Your videos are so easy to watch just cause it's real and down to earth. A channel for the everyday man or woman
Dan, you are the man. Well done for getting out and doing it
Oh, Bob
Can't beat the peak district Dan. Wardens have relaxed things since lock down so not any issues now really. Great camp mate, more of the same please!!
Keep safe pal, cheers.
Another fantastic video proving that there are some fantastic places to be explored here in the UK
You earned a good camp after all that trekking, what a stunning part of the UK. Great video Dan.
Just absolutely loved your expression and head movement when you were eating those meatballs from the packet........"Yep ! they were warm" priceless.😂
A brilliant, inspiring video EW. many thanks for sharing. Me and the missus did our first proper camp in 15 years last weekend (back to basics campsite) and it was so great just to be able to kick back and unwind with nothing to think about. You convinced us to "Be That Person". Keep those videos coming 👍
What a fantastic and beautiful video.
Pure class that Dan!!!!
And well done, that was a hard walk and climb!!! ❤
Call him Thomas...as in doubting Thomas, great video..still watching at the moment...keep up the great work fella👍👍👍
wow Dan loved this camp , the views were amazing , looked so peaceful, ive still yet to do my 1st wild camp, ive still got a bit of gear to get but I still have those demons like you say . I'm so nervous about puckung the right route location and keeping my son safe , I love watching your videos and gathering knowledge and hopefully when I get out there I will have an enjoyable and memorable time , keep these videos coming , looking forward to the next
I had a fabulous bivvy wild camp at Wheel Stones. It's a stunning Gritstone Outcrop with wonderful views 👍😎⛺️
There are several villages under the three reservoirs. Where you pointed to, there was a spire that was demolished because of the dangers of swimming out to it. There was a church towards the top end of Ladybower, there's not much left now and the graves were moved. Derwent Hall has some ruins and its fishpond. My grandfather was born under the Derwent Reservoir, near the dam wall. His family moved out in 1901. My grandmother lived near the bottom end of Ladybower.
It's nice to go a little further from home on your own everyone needs some space 😊
Dan it looks amazing in the morning.👍🏴🇬🇧⛺️
Nice one Dan, I wild camped in the Peak District last night in the Goyt Valley, I found a very quiet spot and saw no one, I hear you about the toilet situation!
I did enjoy that Dan. Thanks for taking us with you. Sometimes you do have to push yourself to do something that’s takes you out of your comfort zone. Camping in a new place does that for me every time! But doesn’t it feel good when you do! Atb. Paul.
I call mine happy child. She makes me doubt myself. She tells me to smile and tell everyone that I’m fine. I got rid of her a few years back. Life is better with out her.
Well done
Hiya. Cannot find the video with name suggestions for invisible friend....call him "Head!"...But also like Ed...lol😊
Solo camping is good for the mind Dan,really good.you hear things you don’t when your with others.👍🏴🇬🇧⛺️
Call him DAN, Dan's demon 😈, he can't be defeated! Great video. Thanks.
Just carry on doing what you`re doing Dan.
Beings your in the peak District when you asked, I'd call your friend peter.
Another great video and beautiful scenery, take care
That’s a cracking hike in Dan. Such a shame yous don’t have the same access laws as us Scot’s. Happy camping 👍🏼
A very good one Dan! Epic views and some good wild camping; thanks for that and take care of yourself!
Sending you well wishes after the deer stomper....❤
Great video mate! Loved it👍🏻💪🏻
great vid dan thank you
GREAT WORK.. THANK YOU
A very enjoyable hike and camp. So beautiful mate, thanks for sharing. The rocks were a good spot! As a woman who has done a lot of solo camping, I have to say they all are stealth. My thought is 'if they don't see you, they won't bother you'. I also like to use natural shelter as much as possible; sometimes you do not need to carry a tent, if there is a good rock overhang.
Been a subscriber for a few months now Dan,and these videos just keep on getting better and better, cheers.👍🏻
Loved the video the views where beautiful
Great one Dan! Thanks for taking us along. A very picturesque bit of England. I hope i can make it through there next year......
Great video Dan and a really nice change of direction for the channel.
Get a mesh hat, mate. The tiny vents you get in normal baseball caps or tilley hats just don't cut it in hot weather.
love it up there in the peaks dan great video pal as usual
Fabulous place... Amazing views... Thank you for bringing all that peace and tranquility into my narrowboat home... So relaxing 😁
Great video thank you for sharing Dan
Fantastic video Dan 👌👍🏻
Dan - thanks for another great vid. I always enjoy watching your channel. Your gear reviews are very informative and your light hearted way of looking at things is fun to watch and an example to be like. Keep on campin' and cheers from Detroit Michigan USA
Dan, get the Sunglasses on and that head covered lad in the heat, you’ll be scorched and dehydrated before you know it up in the hills & mountains.
Great video Dan with stunning views, I felt like I was with you at times!
We've hiked many times in the Peak District, visited Ladybower Reservoir. I remember going in the 70's during one of the driest summers up to then, and you could clearly see the remains of the village, very eerie. I seem to remember a dog's grave there too, the story was it stayed with it's owner when he passec away .....? I live in the US now so this brings back great memories.
Great wildcamp dan, the scenery is breathtaking, glsd you did'nt get hasseled...atb...jeff.
When my husband was still here we used to lead hikes up into the forest for miles. One time we had 15 ladies on one of our hikes. I havent been able to go. Its been one medical problem after another for the last 15 years. My husband is gone and I am alone and 74 years old. Men can go out alone but I'm not going out alone. I'm not even sure I'd be able to go very far.
Nice video thanks for the advice by the way keep it up
I really enjoy your videos 😊
Really enjoyable watch mate, good for you to trek that far when you were having doubts in the morning.

Dan, what a cracking walk and camp, love it when you get out and do a walk and camp, strange I have never had any fears or doubts on my camps, just wish the kids would enjoy it as well, but that’s why I film them as memories for the kids.
Cheers
Beautiful spot to camp, thanks for taking us along with you. I have had doubts but I'm determined to get out there! Stay safe Dan atvb ⛺👍🦊

Nice one Dan
Loved this Dan. Any chance of some stars 🌠🌟 some time ❤ take care
I remember the Ladybower video Dan. Although you had to leave, you did so with good grace. What awesome scenery up there though. Glad you beat off your demon, whatever it ends up being called.
When I drive up that route especially at weekends, as well as wild camping at Bamford Edge, I always meet lots of Chinese students in groups. Very polite people. Nice to see Pakistani and Indian families out on walks in the area now as well! The land does not discriminate, when it comes to admiration of its beauty! What it does expect from us all, is Leave No Trace of your visit. Nice videography, by the way!
Nice one Dan 😊
Good video Daniel 😊
Dan u definitely need to call him Wilson 😂from the film castaway. Gr8 adventure mate. 👍
Hi Dan,
Loved this adventure. Looked beautiful weather. Felt as though I was there. You really do need a hat.
I cannot find your email anywhere.
Best wishes. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Carolyn
Really enjoyed watching I know what you mean about the camping race I'm always the last lol but ace watch on a wet horrible day
Legend good video this Dan,I'd of been naffed, hiking in that heat, well done, 👍
I left it the day after mate
Nice to see you further abroad, keep it up man
The views are spectacular
You don't have to travel to far to have a good time great video as usual 👌 😊
Nice job Dan
Cracking camp Dan 😀
I kipt in the bothy on snake pass other night, hung hammock in there dint see a soul, never get moved on if ya go to some of the less traveled trails. Great vid mate see ya on the hills.
Crackin footage Dan. Know what you mean about worrying about the car.
The land was there before people came along and WRONGLY decided it was theirs, the land is there for ALL, but as long as people give the area respect and practice #lnt. Too many feet ticking off Wainwright's and Munroe's can be damaging, but if we had seasons we all agreed to go elsewhere so the land can revive from use it should be okay. Carry on Dan.
I have heard that the reason there are so many Chinese people is that there are a lot of them at Sheffield Universities and the area you are in appears in one of their study books back in China.
Cant beat a solo sometimes. I will be doing the same at some points during my trip at the end of the month.
The goat standing on the big rock was cool!! Excellent photo moment..... Thank you for taking us along with you.
That definitely wasn't a goat lol
@@jonjohnson2844 My bad, thanks for the clarification. jonjohnson, is it a "Suffolk sheep"?
Another great video Dan, did you get a drone remember you talking about getting one in another video.
Be great to see some drone footage especially on this video the views where amazing 👍👍👍👍
cut the food bag along the long edge....... no more reaching into a long bag with a short fork :)
Get yourself up to stanton moor ' Birchover Derbyshire next june for a few nights camping on the moor for the summer solstice , Nine ladies circle , Cracking place to be at that time of year
Thanks for calling the Rock after my nickname 🤣🤣 wow dude you really covered alot of miles, we did the Three peaks of the Yorkshire Dale's in the army 30 yrs ago in one day..after a night of drinking night before it killed us. Those anxieties you get are quite normal especially being a solo camper but as you know once you get to your destination you think how stupid you feel for having them. Too many people have too many comforts and it's hard to leave them behind but how amazing does it feel when you get out. Nothing like it.
No slacker today you probably walked what your tracker said with ups and downs and crooked trails. Definitely a workout with all the gear you carry. Looked fun stay safe.
It' got to be DanDare for the friend , another great video Dan , soon be up to 70k subs
Thanks!
Wow thank you 😊
Your so brave
Some really stunning vuews tgere Dan. Lush green hills and valleys and unreal rock formations never cease to amaze. Get a hat with a good brim on it mate as it covers the ears which are susceptible to burn and shades the eyes. Thanks for this adventure. Call your imzginary friend Kadper .. he's a friendly little illusion. Bushyboy Oz.
Great video enjoyed watching I've been to those places that your company and I have sacked in the exact same place you took shade in one recommendation you wear a hat
