Just wanted to say I'm in Australia (kiwi originally) and I love watching your videos..I think you're very cool and have great survival skills👍
Ms Survival Lilly.
I Love U and shure I'll love the Knife .
I will purchase a Knife but only if you Sine the Knife somehow and the Case
Please
what impresses me is knowing what kind of tree branches and wood will work. I see trees, that's it. ha.
I like that she shows her mistakes and doesn't just edit them so everything goes perfect the first time
Ash Green
I'm sure with her experience they are not real mistakes, she is just trying to show you what not to do.
I love the honesty of your videos. You don't edit out the mistakes likes others do. You show exactly how difficult some of these things are. Thank you for all the great videos
EXCELLENT demo !!! ......as you were trying to get the ember started, I was listening to the Doors “Light My Fire”.
Me and my brother have been watching your videos for a few years, we both really enjoy them and we love anything about survival, congrats on 1M subs!
Bet you do ...play with eachother while enjoying watching together do you
@@neilbrooks127 WTF is wrong with you? Get help 🤣
My favourite videos are the ones that have Amy!!!!❤️🥰 Don’t get me wrong… we love you too, Lilly! We’ve followed you for years, and seen all the videos! Thank you for taking Amy out with you, and “including” her in your videos!
Lilly, started watching you a couple years ago when I walked in the living room and my husband was watching your video. I couldn't believe a woman was bushcrafting. You changed my outlook on women in the outdoors. I've been hooked ever since. Keep up the great work! (Your English is perfect!!)
Lynn USA 🇺🇲
I think Lilly is the first person on video that I hear that specifies what wood one would want for a bow drill. A small detail no one else mentions. Thank Lilly!
Hi Lilly. It is always so good to see you meet the challenge and give a shout of joy. Most of all, it is good to see you smile and share your adventures with us. We need smiles in this time we are living in. Thank you Lilly. ..Michigan, USA
Great explanation on materials and technique.. I appreciate that you showed us the fail and explained why . Great job 👍🏻
Well done Lilly for lasting the cold weather, it shows the amount of friction heat made by a bow drill at speed .
Lilly.
Good video and helpful info on bow drill fire making.
I woke up to 9°F this morning. Thankfully, I didn't have to be outside for any reason. I've never tried to use a bow drill, but thanks to your videos on the subject, I'm thinking seriously about trying it.
It seems cold everywhere. It's in the 20's here in Virginia.
Knowledge is power!
That’s such a clever thing to drill a hole in your knife! This is the one style I have not tried for a long time. I was happy to get my firesteel going today in the cold. You inspire me to try this method. Thank you!
Good job.
That's a skill that literally 99.5% of the world's population cannot do, yet ranks as one of the top 5 most important skills ever known to humankind. Add cold, damp weather, and it makes things 5 times more difficult.
-20°F here in Baraboo, WI, this morning! An incentive to stay warm, and to learn how to make fires, in an emergency!
That was awesome, demonstrating the importance of practicing and practicing and that notches are important. I saved this video because you breakdown the importance of tinder as well. Awesome job.
Excellent video. More is learned from seeing potential failures, than from seeing other slickly edited examples of the bow drill that I had seen before. So what I learned most, is that after 2 attempts, I hope I remembered to bring my ferro rod, with the bic lighter taped to it....ha. Even south of the maple leaf, I keep a zero degree bag in the car all winter. Good reminder.
Lilly I made my first bow drill set years ago but it took forever to get a ember to start my tinder bundle, so I cheated using dryer lint but its a learning process everyone should try it. I keep plenty of lighters, ferro
rods magnesium blocks and strikers and various types of matches just in case. Take care and be safe
Sehr gut und sehr ausdauernd liebe Lilly! Finde ich cool, den Bohrstaub direkt in den Feinzunder zu bohren! Tolle Leistung und schönen Sonntag Euch, Sepp
I have always wanted to try this but I never got around to doing it. Since I am sitting at home doing nothing productive thanks to Covid, I think I will give this a try today. It may be the one and only thing I accomplish this winter.
Awesome. Job. Love how excited you get.
I still have trouble making a fire with a bow drill in perfect conditions. I love watching you do it so perfectly!
I apologize for being late to congratulate you on your 1 million subs. But Congrats on getting there, I knew you would! Please keep up the great content and have a great day!
Survival Lilly! You are an amazing young lady!
Think about this Lilly. Remove the handle from the knife and drill a hole the same size as the OD of a bearing. You should be able to find a bearing with the same depth as the handle scale. Glue it in place. Lose the the skateboard wheel.
I admire your perseverance
@Survival Lilly • Thanks for your persistence with the bow drill. While I like the variety of your videos, each demonstration you do with the bow drill reminds me how important it is to practice skills and in all types of weather. This is the first time I realized how important the size of the notch is.
Stay safe & keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you for starting to make the videos showing us what its like for survival is worse weather conditions, it more accurate for how it is most of the year in my country personally haha
Clever that at about 5:52 + she is using a "baton", the stick that she is using like a hammer, that has a branch sticking out... thus adding weight to that end just like a mallet.
No matter how you do it making fire without modern starters is a great skill to practice. And leaving in and explaining your attempts helps to show people what will and won't work. Great instructional video Lilly👍
Hello Lilly.earlier today I ordered your beautiful knife from Canadian Prepper.thank you for so many good videos
Your the real deal, your organic with your approach to survival, you can see your a natural
Why do you need to drill a 3rd hole if the notch in the 2nd was to narrow? Couldn´t you just widen it a bit?
This is really good work. Making fire is one of the most crucial survival skills, along with finding water. Bowdrill is a usefull skill to have.
Great job, it's always good too practice the skills we need to survive, you make amazing videos keep up the great work, be safe and have fun
Amazing to see you in the world in the snow. Nice job and good video. Good technique. Stay smiling.
I love that you keep it real! Thanks Lily 😎👍❤
Hey Lilly, I have been following you for awhile especially on my other account! Love you content! Keep up the great work!

So great to see u , hoping your having good days, love your show.
Great job Lilly
I love watching your videos,if only there were more people as clued up as you
She is so cool. I hope the government doesn't lock her up for not wearing a mask.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 would the Austrian government do that?
@@shanehumberstone5262 They are getting very authoritarian.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 surely not if Lilly is on private land(which she is)
@@shanehumberstone5262 I was just commenting on the political/medical situation in Austria. Sorry to bother you.
Excellent video! Someday I hope to try this. Your puppy is absolutely adorable! Stay awesome, stay safe ❤️❤️❤️
Great stuff as usual, you're the best. One small detail. The "floor" is usually part of the interior of a building you walk/stand/sit on. When you are outside, especially in the forest, you walk/stand/sit on the "ground." As I said, a small detail. The rest of your English is prefect.
I have read books where they referred to the forest floor. Usually understood though can be a bit confusing.
So after watching the video and giving praise to it you decided it’s a good idea to say something about a translation on word play that have the same meaning in just about all but your language? Her English is perfect for a million people. Yours just just annoying. So if a floor is the inside of a structure and ground it the outside and you are in a forest because you are in something it is a floor but if you leave the forest and are now out side the forest it is on the ground? Or would it be the earth? Or dirt? Or gravel?
Don’t give a halfass definition on words. And learn more about the language. Floor has been used as the term for in a forest for forever. It’s like telling your wife her hair n makeup is on point. Love the outfit. Your fat tho. Small detail
Bowdrill in the snow!!! You have come a long way teacher Lilly 👍👍👍
Thank you Lilly, Hugs to Amy.
Well done Lilly really enjoyed it!
I love your attitude, positivity and never give up mentality
Where I live we call standing rotten wood, "PUNKWOOD". After you have a hot fire it can be used as a barrier. It will burn but a lot slower .
Superb video, hard work and perseverance always pay dividends, congratulations.
Love the possibles pouch. I am going to build one of leather.
In all my years of hunting, camping, fishing, survival excursions, etc--I've never made a fire with a bow-drill! Usually I use a Bic lighter and a cotton ball pre-drenched in petroleum jelly.
Fire it up!
Hi Amy, so nice to see you again.
Great video! That's a real life lesson of what works and what doesn't.
As every "Prepper", I joined on youtube, the #1 thing I learned was to never give up & to think ahead for what might come, just do the best you can until you feel the need to push on and survive..
Nice weather. Looks beautiful. Greetings from Pompano Beach Florida USA
The number one survival resource is your beautiful dog. No need to build a fire in an actual winter emergency just find a sheltered place and cuddle up with the one you love.
Depends on the temperature
Hello from British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦👍🙏🔥❤️
What about building a Stainless steel roller bearing into your knife handle Lilly ?
I have bought stuff from your reviews , such as a folding shovel. You're the best.
APO-1S Great Video 😀
Amy's High Five is awesome 😃
Good Job! Your Dog is sooooo cute!!! 😍🐶
Great job Lilly 👌
Great video Lilly, you have excellent skills
great job! i knw after the second fail itll really get ya down and the bearing is just pure ingenuity
Holy smokes a million subscribers! You are amazing!
Lilly, Think about a video of fire starting in a city environment using a old wood shipping pallet. Then shelter making out of pallets and other waste material. The hobo population has many skills we should all know. By the way one of my two cats is named Lilly. Her boy friend is Larry. Keep up your great work. I see you as a platform that people world wide can help each other. Thank YOU.
Hello Lilly, I just read where Austria is lifting the lockdowns and that is great news. Stay safe.....Michigan, USA
Great explanation of technique, I have never used a fire drill but certainly need to try. Amy is looking fit.
More videos like this! Survival/Bushcraft skills are most interesting. Thanks for a good video.
Lilly, I'm thinking there may be a way to apply the downward load on the spindle with some simple device so you don't have to push down on it. Either some sort of bow (like for archery) or something to transfer your body weight to the spindle.
Its going to be - 8°C here tomorrow, Im glad I dont need to do this to heat the house. I watched your video where you used pine wood, like you I learned that its a terrible choice of wood. Great video.
Cool! Danke für die gute Anleitung, das wird ausprobiert! 🙂
Nice.
Thanks Lilly.
Lovely video. Have a great week 🏕️😊👍🌲
Good job !
I was thinking about you today Lilly when I almost gave up making my 1st fire of the year w wet wood at the beach. Dry grass, splitting wet cedar until I got the dry core.
Thanks a lot Lily I'm down here in Texas my name is Lloyd I got a Chinaberry old tree and made my bow drill and fire board and I use a little trick I put a little ashes on my tender underneath my board so I finally got a spark and got a cold going under there wow it was really unique took me all day but I did it thanks a lot
Thanks for the great video
Good thing you have gloves on. I have pulled up tall wild grass like that in the past and pierced my hand! Ouch. I have followed you for years and love how much information you provide in your videos!
I saw a video that demonstrated a bow drill fire without a bow, which Survival Lilly has talked about. You just spin the drill between your hands. Very difficult. The man doing it was a "Bushman", whose ancestors were the original inhabitants of South Africa... demonstrating for tourists. He got a fire started quickly but I noticed that he put a small amount of some black powder into the hole. Gunpowder? No, I don't think so. I was thinking maybe powdered charcoal. After all, primitive people would have ready access to charcoal. I do wonder if powdered charcoal would help. It wouldn't be cheating as forest fires or brush fires are natural phenomena anyway.
I have tried and tried ... best for me to stock up on flint n steel , lighters , windproof matches. Thank you , will try again , hope you stay safe and well.
Congratulations on 1million subscribers!!!!! You are amazing
Great video 👍
WAY TO GO !!!! GREAT JOB !
Thanks Lilly
what an accomplishment, a great feat, brilliant.
Great job👍 I like your gaiters. How well did they work? Did they help keep your feet warm?
The coolest reason to watch your channel is cause your real no cuts all real world stuff it works but here's the real problems here's how much work it's going to take.
I cordially greet you Lilly in the New Year 2022, wishing you all the best and make your dreams come true. 😀😃🙂
Well done Lilly. On the first notch, if you turn the fireboard away from you so the pressure is away from the notch you can still use it.
Servus Lilly, Du kannst ja die Griffschalen deines APO ruter nehmen. Dann mit der Ständerbohrmaschine ein passendes Loch rein bohren und da dann ein Kugellager einkleben.
Dann hast Du Deine Skate-Rolle immer dabei.
A cheap closed-cell foam pad is great to have too. It's a bit bulky but you can use it so many ways. You can wrap it around your core, sit on it, sleep in it, create a wind block with it, etc. You should have used a rock as a base to split that log. You're just going to ruin your pack doing it that way. That ember dust is called the punk.
Good job! Love your videos.
Yes you did it you can get warm now congratulations
Congrats on starting the fire. Be well and stay warm.
hello Lilly not always easy to achieve. thank you for the video
