The Cybertronic Spree is a band that knows how to control a room. They play loud, they grab the audience's attention - and they also happen to be full-sized Transformers.
That's right - they're the toys from the 1980s who have spawned a universe of merch, movies and soundtracks. And that's where the band comes in.
As you'll find out in this video by filmmakers Marco Libretti and Kimiya Shokoohi, they sort of accidentally arrived in Toronto, and they quickly found out that playing cover songs from the soundtrack of the 1986 Transformers film drew crowds. (Their flawless costumes and 80s sound also helped.)
Now, the band is nearing their fifth anniversary. And along with a party they have planned in October to celebrate, they're releasing their own original music for the first time. As they'll tell you, writing songs among a group of your friends and nemeses is hard work - but it's paying off in the form of new power ballads you'll be hearing at their next shows.

The girl arcee has got some of best vocal sounds I haven't heard in awhile she has so much talent

The world needs things like this - just people doing what they love, and bringing joy to their audience. Just knowing this band exists makes me so happy :-)
I know this interview is a bit old now but i just saw these guys in Vancouver last week and they kicked so much ass. They rocked hard for over an hour with the pedal to the metal in a steamy hot venue and killed it.

How do they not SWEAT and ITCH to death in those costumes?
They must have several copies of the underpants/inner suits because they have to get drenched after an hour in those mockups.

I desperately want these bots to tour and come to my town... but I'd be willing to travel to see them. They need to get official endorsement from Hasbro and start doing big Conventions all over the world. I'd like to see Starscream or Grimlock join the band though. Think of the vocals Starscream could lend!!! Think of the... uh... "presence" Grimlock could offer!

@@heisenberg1898 nah, we're only worried about people coming from basically this one small stretch on the southern border. The US has nobody watching 99.9 percent of our borders, for some reason. We mostly patrol this one golf course / butterfly sanctuary in Texas for caravans.

I think if you guys go at it fessing up that you know that it is a nastalgic thing rather than playing it like you are actually transformers it will go over better. I love what you do but going a gwar road is not original or cheeky. I have not seen you live but that is my not asked for 2 cents.

The only thing special about this band is the costumes, none of them are especially talented.
