Me too. Especially the quick one we got with the sun completely destroying the planet, but I understand it's not about the other worlds specificly it's about one man getting back to his family
Hopefully if the show remains successful and there is adequate budget, Apple TV+ could introduce extra side content in spin off format to add more content on the "meanwhile" perspectives of the other characters.

@@chloetv1 The original Sliders premise was the original four randomly sliding between worlds in the hopes of one day landing back home. This gave great content as the group had to involve themselves in the affairs of these new worlds while awaiting for their exit window to come about, often having a positive impact on the world's they left.
The issue with Dark Matter is that, so far, the plot is heavily focused around the two Jason's and the characters closest to them. We get a bit of exploration with Jason and Amanda2 only to establish they are not on his world and bounce. Hopefully we get more content with Blair2, the two Leighton's and now Ryan.
I think we did see Leighton two, dancing in the background with Amanda and Jason 1.
It was definitely him. Not sure what world he belongs to.

@@Q-Dadsmy theory. Next weeks episode picks up from his perspective after giving Jason 2 all his money he went on a universe tour living his best life and they get to the club scene and it pans over to Jason and amanda dancing in the back.
I definitely feel that Ryan will be back. The world he was left in looked extremely technologically advanced, he just needs to find that worlds Jason and explain the box so he can build it, all the while tweaking his formula with the help of this advanced society’s smartest minds.
I think Ryan might have figured out Ryan2's compound by sequencing the leftover content from the spent ampoule Daniella gave him. It is a pity Ryan might get this premature breakthrough as opposed to eventually cracking it himself as he sounded very close with his own research. If he teams up with that world's Jason and Ryan they could reuse the existing box but they might have to move it to join superposition from different coordinates whilst also bypassing the sealed box on Earth 1.
The Box has the same co-ordinates in every universe. Means it will always be at the same place in every universe. So if you lift the box and move it like some 50ft forward in one universe it’ll automatically move 50 feet forward in every universe and Jason 1 can easily open the door because the concrete wall will be 50 feet behind the box so Jason 1 can easily enter his universe. No need of building a second Box
I question getting an hotel in another world. How did they book it. With a credit card from their original world? Someone explain this to me please. :(
And along with that, how did they pay for the meal at the restaurant? In fact, I’ve been wondering all along how Jason 1 is paying for ANYTHING?

I find it curious that while Jason1 cannot find his world, Amanda2 was able to find Blair2 by accident in an entirely different world than they both came from. Perhaps this indicates that the "pilot" needs to focus on a person, not a world. And maybe the focal person needs to have travelled through the box as well? Maybe Amanda2 should try and target Jason2 in order to find universe1?

We've already seen that another world made the box. When Jason and Amanda saw versions of themselves trying to escape and and Amanda getting shot
That would be coinciding with the other box creation. Our question is around another box being created at different coordinates which at the moment is a possibility

I was justing saying that they aren't the only world that discovered it. But I see what you were trying to say.
My theory is that there are likely multiple Jason's already on Jason 1's world, and when they try to get back to the box, they see it encased in concrete. They will likely try to bust through the concrete to get at the door.

That's a good theory as it is unlikely J2 was the only Jason that might have had this idea.
Could Leighton have secretly tipped off his father at Velocity Labs before leaving Earth1, or could his father have been secretly monitoring his son's movements only to covertly learn of J2 and his box?

Jason 1 met blonde daniela at the art gallery. he and amanda meet at the box. !**snap*! outside motel. jason 1 leaves, watches dark haired daniela and jason(?) dancing in house. goes back to hotel, says he was following daniela and jason.
1) wouldnt blonde daniela recognize him at art gallery if shes together with different jason in her world?
2) if she had blonde hair, how did she have dark hair at the house? obv. different universe
3) we didnt see them go from box to motel. maybe they switched universe and went to different hotel.
4) crazy theory-jason went to different universe to watch jason and daniela, and then returned...but that would mean he learned to control the box and also doesnt make sense when he said "I promise i would never leave you" when he got back to the hotel.

Maybe they’re getting lazy with the chimes. I’ve seen many TV series that slack off the discipline as the episode count gets higher.
If you use the box that suddenly appeared in the middle of the highway as an example, presumably the local authorities there would have that box moved to some other location (government warehouse, etc) to be studied/investigated. If someone with an ampoule were to enter that box in its new location, the traveler would create a new box in that new location in all universes they travel to. That's how you could end up with two boxes in different locations in the same universe, without having to ever build another box.
That is what I am thinking. It may have already happened if the box Amanda2 and Jason are using had a significant coordinate change while it was sinking in the flooded world.
It’s definitely 2 different Milshire Hotels. A red neon sign 20 minutes in, then a blue one 39 minutes in. So not a continuity error unless I missed your point. I didn’t notice it until you called out the chime.
My point was that usually the chime indicates a switch in reality and Jason, where this time we stayed with the same Jason. I would say yes, we still switched reality but actually we haven't heard the chime before when exploring other worlds/realities with the same Jason.
@@Q-Dads I’ll need to rewatch your other recap videos. I haven’t been paying attention to the chime. Wrapping my head around that detail is going to take a minute. Haha. I like the 2nd-nth box theory. Victory labs could’ve set up in another part of town (or the world, but please no travel montages!) so another box site is entirely possible.

I don’t know abt a second box but someone did point out that the box opens inwardly not outwardly. Therefore the door of the box can be opened, you just need a sledgehammer or something to break open the concrete.
If Jason1 ever navigates bk to his world, Jason2 technically wouldn’t even know it until it’s too late.
But I’m presuming that scheming/conniving/evil Jason2 has a cold hearted contingency plan for Jason1’s arrival.
Jason1 just needs to count his losses and start a new life w/Amanda1 😅. Naw, he couldn’t do that, then he wouldn’t truly be Jason1!
So basically it means now if its an infinite of boxes it means he can go into a box where the box isn't patched up and he can go where that choice was made?

So that means there have to be multiple boxes made by different Jason's..
The question I want to know is, can there be two boxes in a different location ..
I read the book back in 2016 so my memory of the plot is starting to fail me, but I think this series has made quite a few changes from the novel. For instance, I don't recall a second box. That's not to say a second box won't be added to this series as Apple and the producers are perhaps looking to expand the story beyond just 1 season.
We don't cover the books here, only TV so anything is possible for us🤣
The box that good jason uses already isnt in the exact coordinate. he and amanda visited water world, the box sunken into the water... the coordinates were altered.

We've not heard the chime with all the other changes of realities, the one with sick Daniela, the one with the murdering Jason. Could be wrong but it got me thinking 🤣 and thanks!!
The absence of advanced world exploration after six episodes is disappointing. Jason 2 hinted to Ryan 1 before he left him in that world, about it being “more progressive”. Jason 3, potentially possessing the finest attributes of Jason 1 and 2, could collaborate with Ryan 1 to create a more sophisticated version of the box/ampul. Interestingly, Ryan 1 could also seek assistance from Ryan 3, given their “forward-thinking” nature. I’m anticipating the unveiling of this world in episode 7.

Judging by his comment, Jason 2 had visited this “more progressive” world before, indicating he😮 discovered how to go back and forth to worlds of his choosing. (This is how he was able to so precisely swap realities with Jason 1). In order to get back home, Jason 1 is going to have to figure this out as well. But when he does he’ll have to deal with a wall of concrete!
@@operabrotha5208 I agree, Jason 2 has perfected the process. Jason 1 could use a sledge hammer for the concrete issue. S1 E7 may explore some of these "breathtaking" worlds. With Unreal 5 and the budget, there is no excuse.
@@operabrotha5208 I was almost right. Ryan1 and Amanda1 are in the same world, therefore they would have to meet through Jason4 of that world at his shop. I think Jason4 has a box, with Amanda1's ampul, Ryan1 will analyse and replicate it, because the tech of that world like the passport Amanda1 acquired, is way advanced to their original worlds.
Why doesn't Jason think of the world that his kidnaper is in and Amanda think of the world that her real husband is in? End of story!
Amanda is always thinking of something else
The only odd thing with the box sealing is if it were down to me I would fill the interior with concrete while also sealing the exterior. The exterior only sealing means visitors can still arrive on Earth1. If they manage to open the door they would just be greeted by concrete. We saw this example when J1 and A2 arrived in a box that was buried. It also leaves the possibility that J2 might plan to unseal it again as a contingency should he need to abandon Earth1.
Another shocker that J2 could be in for is that he does not know that J1 and A2 were in a box that sunk on the tsunami Earth. This should have changed its coordinates by the time they were able to rejoin superposition. It is assumed the boxed reverted to the same coordinates as they got to the Earth with Blair2 in the abandoned Velocity Labs but I do not remember them confirming the GPS coordinates. So the sealed box might be bypassed with a second box or by changing the position of the current box before joining superposition.
Going back to thoughts of J2 considering an Earth1 exit strategy, we get hints of this in his conversation with Amanda1 as it looks like impostor syndrome is taking hold of him. Even Amanda could detect cracks through his facade of a 15 year marriage as she was not detecting the conversation of married family man. I enjoyed the psyche evaluations from both Amanda's in this episode. This also continues on from Blair2's firsthand experience of how continual box usage can cause travellers to mentally crack over time while living in a worldless state. We also see part of Blair2's concerns of trying to integrate into worlds that may also be homes to your alternates with what is happening with J2. The core personality of J2 is also coming to the surface as he wants the J1 life while also retaining some of his Earth2 successes at the same time. This will keep him in constant conflict with D1 and C1, himself and everyone who knew J1 as J2 never originally developed on Earth1.
In the end we also see J2 make a rash decision to remove Ryan1 from Earth1 without first identifying how he came by the spent ampoule until it was too late. This now creates a butterfly effect in Earth1. A recent Pavia prize winner and researcher has now suddenly gone missing and he was last seen with his longtime friend in a public place. Ryan1's investors and partners will no doubt launch an investigation into his sudden disappearance and we might see Earth1's version of the detective who was grilling L2 earlier on in the show. That is assuming she is also a detective in the Earth1. This will be compounded with the greater mistrust D1 will soon have for J2 once she comes to realise Ryan1 has gone missing after confiding in him.

I presumed that once the box was created it was just there in every parallel world that it could be. Either that or there's really only one box and it spiderwebs portals through the adjacent - read a jason-ed - universes - the drugs heighten the perceptions of the portals or possible universes - like being able to perceive the sliding doors moments - infinite choices infinite possibilities - We are 6 episodes in and I don't know man I think we should be further along in the story - Who is Amanda - she's just kinda hanging around and the only explanation we have is that she was living with Jason 2 - Personally Im still waiting for Jasons 3 4 and 5 - Can Ryan team up with that world Jason - the continuity chime did change universes - maybe there are 3 Jasons already but their universes are running so close together we (the audience) aren't catching it?
I agree with us not knowing much of the story. I would expect now that we should have a clear end game, other than Jason 1 trying to get home - what is the big finish going to be??

I think Ryan is the solution, I believe in the futuristic universe he will figure out a way to use the box to go back to his world by creating another box
Ryan 1 could meet with Jason 1 in the new world Ryan chose because of the note Amanda 1 wrote a world like this on the paper which could be Ryan 1’s new world and as Ryan knows how to create the serum he could make more to help Jason 1 perhaps together they even make a new box or an alternative device.
This theory makes the most sense. Remember they are running out of serum, so more has to be made somehow. Meeting up with Ryan 1 is the most plausible outcome
I think the boxes pop up to wherever a person open’s the door. So closing a box doesn’t really matter because a box could open in another location. To me it similar how multiple people can be in the box and traveling to new worlds, but don’t see each other. The box they are in is connected to their minds. So unless they enter the box together…they are in different boxes.

I think the continuity chime definitely means we swapped to a third jason. I'd also love to see some weirder worlds, not just world with disasters
Could it be possible that that snap was going to a different reality where there is a third Jason who is on a very similar trajectory to Jason 1's. That would mean in both realities Jason went on a walk but in the one they transitioned to during the snap was actually the third Jason not the 1st. That's why The Blonde Daniela didn't notice him even though apparently they are married and living together -- he was watching them dancing which confused me and I think that is why.. not to mention the different color signs and of course I truly don't think the snap was a continuity error. That would be a big one.. we're not talking about a prop missing in a shot or something. So yeah I haven't read the book so complete speculation but I would say when we are watching Jason and Daniela we are actually switching between 2 different Jason's and Daniela's that are in realities that are still somewhat synced up.
How are they paying for things in the different universes? Doesn't the cash change or something?
It should but as long as it looks legit that would not be detected till long after analysing the notes they are using vs the native world. They would have to end up a world with a different succession of US presidents to get caught out as the wrong faces would be on the bills.

He put Ryan in that world because Ryan was a threat now. Ryan was knowledgeable enough about the project and that made him dangerous. Plus, after talking with Daniella and testing the ampoule, he knew too much. There was no other choice. It's like he killed Ryan without having to kill him. So, Ryan 1 is gone, just like Leighton 2...we will never see them again. But it will present a huge problem later because when Daniela finds out Ryan is missing, she'll automatically know it was Jason 2 and that will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Also, it is clear that Jason 2 is incapable of getting it right in this world. He may be able to travel to different worlds, but he can't completely become the Jason of this world. He can only be who he is. That's why i loved the line he said to Amanda the therapist when he said, "I worked so hard to get here, and it's all fucked. It's not what i thought it was going to be". He now knows he might have made a bad decision by coming here and he's contemplating leaving. Another great line was Daniella telling him in the car that he doesn't care about her, he only cares about pleasing himself. His best attempts to the people he loves that he cares for them continues to backfire because he doesn't really know them and it's not who he is to try. He justs wants them to accept the new him. Which is what Amanda 2 said in an earlier episode was the reason her relationship with Jason 2 was rocky. But his decision in the end shows that he'd rather stay in this world, getting it wrong, then risk Jason 1 returning and taking this life back.
Sliders has less budget and miniscule to this production but manage to explore different world.

@@johnnycache84 Problem is, from Jason 1's perspective, when he opens the door and sees a wall of solid concrete he would assume the box is once again not on his world and simply move on to the next world. Remember when he opened the door and saw dirt and tree roots in a previous episode, he never assumed the box was buried by Jason 2, only it ended up on an Earth where the box was underground.
He is evil but he's ultimately trapped himself too. What if it's Leighton 1 who comes back and breaks the concrete, that would be interesting. But yeah, will Jason 1 think it's another world 🤔
I think Jason 1 might team up with another Jason from one of the next worlds he visits and explain the situation. Surely there are other Jasons with a similar predicament to either Jasons and possibly already made their own boxes, maybe even a different design altogether... Or Jason 2 will have an affair with Amanda 1 and get caught, then find himself breaking that concrete himself to start over in another world.
I thought the multiple box theory was already proven. Wouldn't there have to be more boxes built in other multiverses. Case in point when Jason 1 and Amanda are in the Hornet world, they are shown a security video of Amanda coming out of the box a year earlier than Jason 1 and Amanda 2 with the Hornets following her out. Since that was another version of Amanda traveling a year earlier wouldn't that mean there has to be at least one box created earlier in another world than the box created in world 2.
But all the boxes are in the same place, im talking two boxes in one world at the same time.
The only way you can exit via a box is if it was in the same place as the box you entered.
But if you build another box next to the original, in theory if you visited a world you had visited before a second box would then be created in that world too.
Dont forget the box existed for 18 months, so a year earlier would still be the same box that jason 2 created.
@@Q-Dads Yes you are right It would have to have been built in another space, but we do know other boxes have been built from the hornet scene and just working with probabilities and infinite worlds with slight differences wouldn't it be highly likely that a box would have been built in a different spot, area or city etc. For instance, a world where Jason 432 lives in San Francisco or the Venture company is located in Dallas etc.
@@Q-Dads True the box from world 2 has been in operation for 18 months but Amanda 2 went in the box for the first time at that point only days ago.
Also you made a good point of the box being in operation for at least 18 months maybe Hornet Amanda was the first to go into the box in her world.
I just want to understand why there was a scene with Jason sleeping in the same bed as his colleague. I was under the impression that he loved his wife and son? I know for a fact in that hotel room, they each had their own bed. So, wtf?

Jason 2 knows everything about the Box, and yet you believe he doesn't know about a second box? smh. What we do know ... is the he box ... must exist .... at this point ... and TIME .... to move between world. There has been no .... time travel .... so far?
A good theory is Jason 1 ... figures out time travel ..... after returning to his world the box encased in concrete. Travel back a couple of weeks .. and they can exit the box. This would also men Jason 1 could fix all the damage done .... by Jason 2 and Layton 2.
And no. There 's not enough time to explore every world.
Jason 1 is doing a crash course ... learning how to navigate the multiverse ... and with another person, whereas Jason 2 learned everything by himself being typically selfish. If Jason 1 becomes the better pilot who can time travel ... then he could go back to Jason 2's world where he chose career ahead of family.
The difference is Jason 1 like you said is doing a crash course and learning how to navigate the box with the help of Amanda - Leighton 2 is doing this by himself with much harsher world so will learn different mindset making him more dangerous, which is interesting.
As for time travel it's not going to happen in my opinion. The creation of another box of more likely or even using the help of his friends to do this. I think in this series time is stable
I dont think there's time travel in this series. If it was possible, Jason 2 would have done it already as he has kinda messed up his relationship with his wife.
The box moves in a single timeline but opens up on different realities. Timeline and Reality are two different things.

The part where the chime plays between siting outside the box and at the hotel was not an error! They did switch realties, just off screen. When they are sitting at the box that is the reality with blonde Daniela, but when we cut to the hotel and Jason1 goes for his walk in the rain, he is following a brunette Daniela who is with another Jason. If they were in the same world, then blonde Daniela should have recognized him but she didn’t. Also you can clearly see when he is looking in their window that Daniela is brunette suggesting they switched worlds sometime between sitting outside the box and the hotel. Thus, the chime was not an error!
I disagree, although the chime signifies a change in reality it has only been used to signify the change in Jason so far so us as the viewer can keep track. This chime did not switch from one Jason to another so technically is an error. Otherwise we would have been hearing chimes all the time when he was searching for Daniela in the last episode. Great thought though!
@@Q-DadsI agree with the above poster, I think the chime is only meant to signify a change in reality if Jason & Amanda aren’t shown on screen changing realities through the means of the box; however, if they do change realities on screen there’s no real reason to include the chime since it’s being shown to us in real time.
