When the Ghostbusters Saturday morning cartoon aired back in 1986, Slimer was portrayed as a helper ghost who was mischievous but had good intentions and always wanted to be part of the team. Yes, the cartoon, where Slimer was the Marketably Cute Critter, was a HUGE 80's Saturday-morning hit between movies, and fueled half the marketing. Saw this at the theater when it came out. Scary and funny. Enjoyed it just as much as the first movie. Though some of the effects look dated now, this was a big step up in terms of special effects quality, compared to the first movie. Especially the courtroom battle looks amazing. Lots of practical effects blended with optical effects perfectly.
