Thanks a bunch! I've been worried that a magnetized tool would somehow affect the computer or screen but if it won't, it's a hell of a help with those tiny stinkin' screws.
Excellent tip! I've just put a new motherboard into a new and small case & a magnetized screw driver would have made putting in the screws a 100x easier. It took me a ridiculous amount of time to get 2 of the 6 screws in!
If you have that issue and you don't have a magnet handy, you can also use a bit of poster putty on the end of the Phillips head. The screw will stick to it if you use enough and you can screw it in easily enough. I've even used Play Dough in a pinch.

You don’t need to capitalize the first letter of EVERY word unless it is a place name (for example: Canada or The Home Depot) or a persons name or a persons title (for example: Sir Elton John). Paired with the missing punctuation between the breaks in your comment made it confusing to read. I’m not trying to be mean or judgmental but you could have put a few periods or commas in there to help it not be so clumped together. Hope you don’t mind the suggestions and I don’t come off rude!
Not sure about fridge magnets, do you have a speaker cabinet that you can get to the back of the speaker?? If so they is a really strong magnet back there that you could use, give that a shot. And if not, well try the fridge magnes and see. Just find the strongest one...
Holy crap man! freaking amazing!!!! I never knew that, and I have magnetize tools now I know what to do if I go to a friend place and he doesn't have any of this. Well actually no, but when I visit my wife family just to WOW them.
I love the whole magnets around a hard drive thing.. it has to be a super duper powerful magnet.. since.. there are two very powerful magnets already inside the hard drive. :) I just magnetized a screw driver using a magnet I removed from a hard drive.
I've been hung up on a pocket knIfe screw installation. I found a magnet on the refrig. and followed your excellent advice. Thank you !

I tried this just with the magnets in my cell phone case, and it worked! This is with leather covering the magnet and everything!
Thank you.
I used a larger magnetic screw driver to make a smaller screwdriver magnetic. Worked like a charm.
Good info
now i can go buy that tool kit i have always wanted!
Thank you
Thanks👍
Thank you.... Tired of casing tiny little screws around the bottom of my case!
how long is the effect ?
All I have are fridge magnets... if I rubbed them enough would they still work?
omg i thought this was bs but it really works!!
Would a fridge magnet be strong enough? And what about screw heads that are shaved? Can they be removed with a magnitized screwdriver?
Is it as strong as a magnetized screwdriver you would buy in a hardware store?
Hey Brian!
You said you're in Naples? I'm in North Port..... do you only work on computers?
No electronics? Guitar amps? Thanks
What if there's no change with my screwdriver after sliding the magnets across?
@dovie2blue - Yeah Man! Really the only way to work on things is with a magnetized screwdriver. :) Thanks for commenting!
For prob a year or longer, also depending on how strong the magnet that you are using is.
hard drives i have taken apart have really strong magnets in them. In fact i use them for doing this.
link to the magnet?

...how long the effect last on the magnetized item?
Never needed it long enough to find out.

I did this but it only lasted for a few days.
Thanks. Just saved me 2.99
Don't forget guys if your material is a crappy cheap material it won't hold the magnetism for long
Confirming what I just discovered,,better this way than just waggling it around.
Remember, drag it "acrosst"
HOW TO MAKE A PREMANNENT MAGNETIZED SCRE3W DRIVER BECOZ ITS AUITE BORING WHILE WORKING WITH LIGHT MAGNETIC SCREW DRIVER
Not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning regarding "across." It's not "accrost." No "t" in across.
Thanks! It IS a "big deal"! Very pleased you pointed it out!
Not ANY metal...
Most be ferrous, not brass etc.
Use this and you will grow to hate stainless steel and aluminum screws.
Video doesn't say what type of magnet. Just says 'strong magnet'.
