Personally I think Mystic is the best roommate. Can make you stronger if you need to move something heavy, can heal you if you're sick, knows how to shank an intruder.
I know the deck was pretty big, but those were some really good madnesses. You can nightmare a free backflip with footwork calipers, make the madness free with apo or mummy hand, and it was a way to scale without powers vs awakened one. WLP makes it easy to pick a particular card to make free, it kept the deck cheap after all the powers were gone, and it just generally works well with mummy hand to make a whole hand free after getting rid of the bad cards to hit with madness (powers) The deck was huge and didn't need them, but the madness was very thematically appropriate in this insane deck so I stand by my cringe backseating.
I'm playing StS on Mobile, and I've been following your advice, even going as far as to take extensive notes on how to get better at this game. I just finished A4 Watcher where I did a boss swap into Black Star, which inevitably led to me having a chemical x + Conjure Blade run where the expunger dealt 504 damage the next turn thanks to Shimmering Fury +. This is after my progress was lost when switching phones and having to start over with every character, except the Silent. This game has replaced The Binding of Isaac in my favorite games and I can't wait until StS 2! My goal is to complete A20 on all four characters on both mobile and PS4 before StS 2 drops next year, so I've a pretty ambitious set of goals ahead of me for the next year or so, but I'm not worried!
Yeah, I mean he literally just shouts motivational lines and they suddenly get stronger. He'd be my workout partner, life coach, and mentor. Plus if he's a roommate he can apparently call over his lads for help on stuff.
As someone who has also played After Image after Apotheosis for no good reason on a turn where it would have actually blocked another point of damage, weirdly glad to see that happen here
This is literally and figuratively the most sadistic Silent I’ve ever seen. Nightmare, sadistic nature, choke, envenom, endless agony, and lots and lots of shivs.
Just finished Ascension 20 for the first time. I used The Silent. Watching these videos and just absorbing your logic when deciding which paths to take, what cards are must grabs and skips. It's helped a lot
hearing that you had a Silent run that didn't get out of act 1 made me feel a lot better about myself haha. Love the videos, you're an incredible player!
If you follow the Baalorlord Unedited channel and see the full vods, you'll see a BUNCH of losing runs. just last week he had a 3-4 *loss* streak. Seeing him talk about how/why runs didnt pan out is just as fun as seeing the winning runs, honestly.
@@gamemaniac2013 those would probably be helpful to inform my own play. I'm nowhere near high-level play, but I feel I'm just bashing my head against a18-a20. I have a20 wins with defect and silent, but I cannot do it with any consistency.
I really enjoyed watching this just-for-fun run. Watching it was even a more relaxed experience. If you are up for another fun run, I wonder if you would consider a. “Questionable” run, where your pathing takes you to the most events, and your decisions are based on the most gambling of choices. Sounds hard, but I know you would find a way to win!
Silent is probably the most restrictive in terms of distinct builds. She can go poison, or shivs, with more or less emphasis on discard synergies, but that's pretty much it. I find that if I haven't gotten at least a few cards that play to one of those strategies or the other by the end of act 1, I really struggle to get any further with her.
I think this game does a good job of providing a wealth of strategies to all characters. Personally, I've found so many builds with Silent - sadistic nature envenom, wraith form nightmare, lots of draw with thousand cuts after image, and my favorite sneaky strike setup with lots of draw as an energy generator. I'm pretty sure I just personally prefer the character. But then Baalor talks about Defect builds being infinitely deep, and I'm scratching my head because I've found maybe 5? But to each their own - this game is good, man.
Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards in the thumbnail (Apotheosis and Adrenaline x2): Adrenaline #1: (10:11) Apotheosis: (34:11) Adrenaline #2: (1:30:47) What an Adrenaline-filled Silent run!

Best roomate would be lagavullin, just sleeps all day
and a good taste in scotch to boot :)
Wakes up in three turns and deals 20 DMG tho
Don't mention the -1 dex and str
XD
@@4ltruizer thats why you leave the room on turn 2
@@4ltruizer -2 dex and str on A20 too. What an a-hole. Then again we did disrupt their sleep. Perhaps we are the baddies
I would have TOTALLY gotten baited by the cursed tome event. There's a lot if events in this game that I just can't resist clicking.
I can't resist clicking on claw 🤔
It may have worked out if you did, though. Baalor’s logic is sound but be not inclined to assume alternatives are impossible
@@nickbarlow4270 lmao
@@jordansandoval7097 It was supposed to be a silly run. He should have done it
I will take damage for a relic even if it kills me
Best roommate is Nemesis. He's only there half the time.
But he's secretly watching you and burning the room up the other half of the time

Hahahahahaha
Best roommate: fat gremlin. Seems like a cool guy

I think Gremling leader could be good roomate, he kinda inspires the gremlins, so he could do the same to you

She is literally a slave owner
he wouldn't even see any difference

how that wayne brady quote flew over everybody’s head is beyond me 😂. Baalor you’re a real one for that .

I have just realised that Endless Agony is EA
It’s in the game.
"So we can touch buff bars." How risqué.

Besides the absence of Quick Slash, Baalor basically grabbed all the Silent cards he usually ignores. What an odd run. 👍👍

Did he stop aiming for 20 win streak on Ironclad?
I believe he lost after 11
Yea, for now at least.
He's going to circle back. Attempting Silent now.
Finally, I had enough of ironclad runs lol

- Baalor: don't play the shiv
- Shiv: ight, imma head out

Wait did he finish his streak with ironclad? Or just moved to silent?
Baalor moved on to Silent for now, best Ironclad attempt was 11. He might revisit clad end of the year.
insane deck as always
The thing with Time Eater is if you can play 12 cards per turn that advance your game state, he's not so hard.
Best roommate is shield gremlin. You know he is a team player.
This is the kind of silent deck I love.
Surely Giant Head would have been great as an alarm clock, if not a good roommate?
very smooth intro segue
The best roomie would def be the merchant. I would like for him to teach me his trade.
I guess you could say this run...
had Panache
