In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Watcher. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. @@solomonbacon8893People exaggerate how easy this game is. In comparison to the others yeah watcher is probably more powerful but the game is still brutal, and imo I found watcher punishing at times too

Yes - Baalors best on Clad was 11, he has now moved on to Silent streak attempts. He says he might revisit clad later this year.

I think the thumbnail is just straight up misleading.
The exploit was using clickbait thumbnail to get views.

Brilliance is an absolutely busted card. I have no clue why he doesn’t grab it every time he sees it. It’s a 16 damage 1 energy card. Probably the best value card in the game. If the card did nothing else 16 damage for 1 is unreal.
Lategame brilliance on turn 1 does a bit damage against nemesis, while scrawl saves your ass.
That miracle potion in the end was clutch

@@jesusridingabike Im surprised bc it's similar and a lot of the overlapping players love it. It has raving reviews on Steam. But Baalor himself explained that big numbers alone didn't feel like enough of a "reward" for him, nor did he particularly care for the casino setting, so that checks out
Kind of astounded that he skipped a Brilliance in the name of keeping the deck small, when he hadn't been prioritizing removing strikes from the deck.

Hurts to see brilliance skipped, such good damage for 1 energy. Probably one of the many reasons I'm bad at this game.
I don’t think it makes you bad - Brilliance is a really good card. I think in this case, he skipped it for better draw consistency.

This run was a struggle: I think trying to Wish every opportunity you got plus Lesson Learned was too challenging
Nah. Baalor had it under control. There were plenty of times when he just went for the kill instead, because he knew the tradeoffs.

Please don't just assume cards are bad just because a streamer said so. Play the game yourself and you decide. I for one very much enjoy collect.
Everything Baalord says must be taken in the context of A20. Of course lot of weak cards and builds are perfectly viable in easier difficulties

I tried collect and it sucks. Even when I took an upgraded one it felt very mediocre
