The ironic fairy purchase from the shop literally almost defining the run! 😂😂😂😂 just goes to show no matter how op you were against the rest of the spire, one bad heart draw cycle can literally end you…. And there I was laughing saying “why are you blocking the big hit just take it intentionally knowing you’ll never lose because of double fairy!” Then watching him almost die…. Whew. That was a nasty fight.
A silent run with one poison card meant only for removing artifacts - that delivers the death blow after a dozen hits by other cards. I know he generated envenom but Noxious Fumes was there first. They share credit for the poison that actually killed Heart after the 54s.
anyone happen to have an idea of why apotheosis is a skill with exhaust and not a power? I feel like it's a one-off all-affecting one-of-a-kind effect, I feel like it should really be a power instead. just imagine if panache was a skill instead of a power or something like that, it feels strange
Because Apotheosis is a powerful one-off effect, not a passive benefit. All powers give you some kind of a passive benefit - card draw, energy, orb slots, etc- the only one that could pass as a skill is Wraith form (I think), but that would be busted with Burst. It could also be balanced around Defect, who can draw cards/generate orbs with powers. Aptheosis could be a power, if it also worked as Master reality - but that would be too strong.
Not exactly an argument for why, but it is interesting that having it exhaust means there are ways to play it again (e.g. Strange Spoon, Exhume) which can be helpful to upgrade cards added mid-combat (e.g. Dead Branch, potions).
