I love these videos and seeing everyone so young, relaxed and happy before the harsh reality of adulthood comes along where life beats them down and crushes their souls little by little, year after year, decade after decade until they're dead. The bliss of youth is so fleeting.
According to Google, McGavock is in Nashville, TN. 1988 was a different time and those that I remember as really good and much simpler times. I'd love to go back to these times in this video. I graduated high school in 1988.
I graduated in the 80s and I remember not understanding why everyone was so happy to graduate. My fav song my senior year was "We May Never Pass This Way Again" and it really described how I felt then. I was so very sad it was ending and we wouldn't be going back, ever again...unless we failed, which no one did. The night of graduation (only 120 of us) was the night we all parted ways for the last time and some forever (they left our small town and never looked back). I wish we had video of our senior year. :-) My best guy friend was one of those who left - he went into the Navy. We lost touch and about a year ago, I got his phone number from his brother. He didn't answer, I texted. He let me know he and his wife were in ill health and he wasn't the person I knew back then. I told him most of us have struggled and we all changed. I never heard from him again, sadly. I never would have thought he wouldn't want to keep in touch. Gotta let it go, wish people well and move on. The sands of time are running out more quickly so we have to enjoy what we have left and make even more memories! Blessings!
It is strange as I remember kids in my class all talked about how they couldn’t wait to graduate high school and get into the work force. I don’t know what we were thinking because high school was not only easy but fun too. I mean, you are with your friends all day and get to meet girls etc etc.
These guys are 52-53ish now and probably have grandchildren by now. I miss those days for sure. I'm from Nc but have family roots in Tennessee. The good ol days are gone unfortunately but I guess we just have to make the best with we've got 🤷 Because one things for sure; as badly as we may want to go back, we can't
i went to 3 different high schools and never even graduated. i'm 55 now and for some reason i like watching vids like this maybe because these folks aren't celebrities or otherwise famous or maybe just as a reminder of how much i hated school.
I have a very similar story. I went to two different high schools and I'm 55. The first few years were hell on earth. I was bullied so badly that I wanted nothing to do with graduation or prom. To this day I couldn't tell you when or where they were. But it does hurt I couldn't participate
@@attila7092 i don't regret it a bit i hated every minute of school but i do feel bad for you that you wanted to go but didn't that really sucks. being a teen is supposed to be some of the greatest years of yer life but that is certainly not true for everybody.
@@attila7092 trust me ya didn't miss anythang. the popular kids would've still been popular kids and the outcasts would've still been outcasts. plus think all the money you saved yer parents by not attending all that school related b.s.
@@NoirL.A. Yeah unfortunately I can't look at it that way. This was a once in a lifetime event. I may have been an outcast but I was there. We were entitled to the same good memories the jerks had. You can't put a price on that

Yeah for the people that peaked
It’s not adulthood that beats them down lol no wayyy! It’s definitely childhood and your teenage years!
Young...but look no younger than 40 😂

Oh and btw I’d say probably half of the friends I had in high school I have not seen since high school. Funny how that happens
Wow, what a difference. No kids glued to cell phones, amazing.
Unless there’s a time traveler somewhere
1988 was the best year of my life. I was 16 and got my 1st car.
cuanto autos compraste hasta el dia de hoy?
I enjoyed watching this video, so dope to see how it was to be in highschool in the 80s 🙌🏿

Def not any grandchild 😂 maybe some grown up children in their 20s but grand children usually come around age 60-70. And they would be age 49-51
I’m 52 and have 2 grandchildren 🙄
Thumbnail girl is a drop dead cutie!!! I would have loved her back in '88.
That girl from the thumbnail is beautiful💕12:56
I can smell the aquanet
They looked so good with the big hair. Beautiful girls
I bet a lot of them smell like teen spirit...see what I did there lol
Thumbnail girl looks like Jodie Foster mixed with Farrah fawcet
What would kids in the 80s should saying about the kids these days anno 2024?
Go back to the past and tell them all

YOUR GRANDKIDS GENERATION WILL PAY A TON FOR THEM

At the time I didn't want to go. It was only many years later that I realized what I had missed. All because of a few assholes

I'm from warren county tn class of 88:)
Those accents are strong
Any vids from 95 and up?
No. They were too self-absorbed.
Mic placement for the assembly at the beginning would have been nice. Bueller……Bueller 🙈🙉🙊
Even the ladies has mullets, lol
The guys are tall
Many of these kids look 30
Thats what the kids from the 80s should saying about highschool kids in the 1950s.
