McGavock High School 1993 Senior Breakfast
These "kids" are in their mid-50s now. Think about that for a moments. I wonder how many of them fulfilled their youthful dreams.
So, what year did things begin to implode? Looks so well mannered
No fights in the hallways, no turning over the desks with kids screaming “you alright?” Those poor kids had no idea the world their kids would have.
I think it is great these kids have a video of their high school days. I would love for someone to have thought to have done that at my high school. I graduated in 1985 and would have been a senior at this particular high school if I had attended here. You honestly don't think about things like this in the moment as being important but it would certainly be a valuable thing to have now.
8:35 Lion King but pretty 😁
This video - an edited version is very popular on Instagram. Any where are they now - would be awesome
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went to this School around this time. Would’ve been cool seeing him in the video raising his eyebrow. 😂
I've seen several of these videos, and wow each school and community really has its distinctions the reality is a lot of them are very unique circumstances. They really don't display what life was generally. But this video is a lot more accurate for 1993. This is more or less the way life was at this time.
Class of 93🫡
Where was this prom held?
Why’d everyone look so middle aged as teenagers?
Во всем мире юность одинаково прекрасна. Я выпускница 1985 года.
Man do I wish I was this age back then. The girls were all so naturally beautiful and just seemed so feminine. Seeing that today is a rarity.
What would kids in the 80s should saying about the kids these days anno 2024?
15:26 that teacher is most likely passed on 😢
8:06 the kid who take no responsibility even when you catch him in the act 8:16 the teacher trying to hit on the hot girl in school Back in the day what was considered extreme in the 80s is todays normal 1. In the 80s girls were shy to be on camera, now they do only fans 2. Cosplay and dresssing up as your favorite character in the 80s you was labeled the strange kid, now it is finally considered cool 3. 80s boys and girls bathrooms. Today just bathroom 4. To be continued
Graduated 1982, life was good not great. Interesting how students were getting used to being filmed. Be great to do a "Where are they now".
I think one of the differences back then ,the girls were more feminine an took pride in their self .here class of 95
I graduated in 95
I wonder where life took the guy in the wheelchair at 1:24? What did he study in college/Uni? What did he end up becoming in his career? I hope he's doing well.
they were less anxious maybe ?
No they were just smart enough to think for themselves back then. . . They didn't need Google to give them the answer to everything in life black young people do today .
Don't see any overweight kids. But I do see a few Dahmer and Koresh looks
Nashville schools are very different now.
No offense to the people in this or the vid maker. I grew up in CA graduated in '89 was a sophomore when this was shot. I love how the attitude and styles of these kids/staff is still in 1982 or so. Time-warped to fit their culture. Now with the internet, everyone acts/looks like they're from CA in 2019 or so. Everyone's homogenized and no more regionalism or local character. Also, I hear lots of southern accents, see lots of black, white and other race students all interacting in good faith and acting very respectfully and mostly focused on academics/athletics in their demeanor. To hear the lefties out here in CA and nationally tell it, this time/place should have been the heart of white privilege, post-Jim Crow racism and racial division due to "inequity". I see _none_ of that here. Not that one vid can tell the whole story and nobody in any part of the U.S. can say there weren't occasional cultural problems/disagreements that came up from time to time back then. But from what I have seen here and in other vids from other parts of the nation shot around this time in various venues, we as a people have been lied to about who and what we were and are, in the worst and most pernicious way.
Yes it is as you say, everything we were taught is lies. History is a set of lies agreed upon. Delve into it you'll see. When you realize the enormity of the deception it's unsettling....I was class of '83, fyi. Been a while. I'll be 59yo in three days. Crazy
What if we told those kids, "in 40 years there will not be any white people on television, only black people or mixed." They wouldn't believe it.
Everyone looks 30!
Man I want to live in the 1990s I hate 2024 every one looks so happy back in the days
Obesity prevalence increased from 15% to 34% among adults and from 5% to 17% among children.
1988 was the best year of my life. I was 16 and got my 1st car.
Aw yes good decade taste of the dash of lego classic space a spice of vintage star wars and the electric company special
Many of these kids look 30
Thats what the kids from the 80s should saying about highschool kids in the 1950s.
I enjoyed watching this video, so dope to see how it was to be in highschool in the 80s 🙌🏿
The class is very relaxed. The classes now are tense and strange.
The novelty of VIDEO in the 80s.
And the stupidity of 2024 . And the whole new millennium crap . . . I graduated in 1984 and I trasde it for all this monkey sh-t show millennium crap . . . Young people in the new millennium don't have any kind of personality and all they know to do is what Google tells them to do . . . Young people nowadays don't have to think for themselves they got Google to do it for them .
Even the ladies has mullets, lol
so many mustaches in school in 1990
Guys if you had a choice to grow up and go to school and live your days again which city would you chose??? I would chose Chicago.
12:56 Lionel Ritchie
I wonder how many of these hot chicks were virgins then
These people are all my age. Alot of hot gash there
This was my first year teaching at McGavock. Sad that both the narrator and Smedley, the teacher that walks in at about the 1 minute mark, are no longer with us. Dr. Moser at 10 minute mark was my high school basketball coach. I was later a pall bearer at his funeral.I didn't know Mr. Carney very well, but Smedley was a great guy. I had many of these students in class. Crazy that I am still there for 2024-25.
That is sad 😢
Aww thank you for sharing that
🙏🏽 I was there part senior year
Holy Heavy Metal Parking Lot
Back when the girls were fun to be with, thin, natural, proud to be feminine. 0
6:35 kinda favors dude from Road Trip
8:24/See, this is the kind of girl that I would have definitely dated... when I was back in highschool!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
