I can't believe we live in a timeline where Porter is teaching Ludwig how to use FL. Crazy.
ikr wtf this is crazy. Been listening to Porter since around 2012-2013. So happy to see him finally get the attention he deserves.
;)
Fuck yeah bro
incredible hahah - I want a pocket porter robinson to help me produce
copying whatever xqc does cringe
If you think about it, we are being taught FL studio by porter Robinson
I always thought I’d have to pay for a private vocal chop tutorial by porter
i've been using fl for 4 years but man am i invested with Porter teaching Fl this is awesome
@@linkingheartsmusic i must be the only person in the planet who learned FL with a pdf guide, and then i stopped using it, i really like it, i just stopped using it because idk
@@linkingheartsmusic Started using FL 11 years ago and have used Logic for the last 5 and this makes me want to go back to FL gang lol.
@@sockettgirl do you got a link to the guide would appreciate it
Ludwig going "wait we're not done" after dropping a basic drum loop down is the most accurate depiction of what it's like making your first few beats!! 😂 so wholesome
9:19
Cant express how fun this is. Being a producer for so long and seeing porter break it down like im 5 is just sick.
Same bro it's like looking at myself 8 years ago when I first opened a FL Studio messing around and not really knowing what I'm doing. I wish I had this video
This just popped in my recommended, I bought FL about a year ago but got it (the usual way) a few years ago but I gave it up cause I couldn’t figure it out. This video has been super helpful getting back into it again
this is unironically kind of a master class for newbies. I wish I had something like this to watch when I first started out, because it teaches so many of the most important things in production
I dont think its very informational or good teaching at all (absolutely not a masterclass)... BUT!!!! you learn way more and way better this way, because its FUN. You are getting taught by a WORLD CLASS musician instead of having to sit through a boring 20 hour video on "music production fundamentals" by a failed musician, who doesnt even know what good music sounds like. This(having fun and being excited) is way more important, when starting out making music, than learning all the dry aged nitty gritty details that wont make you a better musician.
I LOVE how every little thing Lud makes, even though it sounds horrible at first, hypes Porter so much due his capacity of seeing things beyond our comprehension.
The sample actually goes insanely hard
are you going to finish that croissant
i could see freddy gibbs rap over it ngl
Shit slaps like a teain
HOLY SHIT, KNOWING THAT LUDWIG AND PORTER SAW BASSHUNTER OLD TUTORIAL VIDEO JUST FUCKING BLEW ME AWAY. I STARTED MAKING MUSIC AND KNOW FL STUDIO FROM THAT VIDEO...
YOOOOO
ngl those vocal chops have quite a lot of potential, I could tell even Porter was getting inspired.
they were mid and generic
@@poopgun so true@?
@@poopgun It depends on the producer's skills and talent if it is mid or generic, this is only like two hours that we see the process
@@poopgun you're mid and generic
you are mid and generic because you have a lack of talent to recognise that they can be turned into something really good@@poopgun
6:48 in the rare 0.1% chance porter reads this, but FL has had a export to soundcloud feature since 2019. But its kind of hidden in the "Export to cloud" option
we truly do be living in a society
joker lookin' headass
Porter Robinson and Kenny Beats battling via streamer tutorial proxy is the most unexpected but necessary thing of the year. I love it
Was this porter’s first streamer tutorial?
45:22 i didn't know porter was so good at beatboxing stuff earlier, and everytime just surprise me
this guy is very experienced in FL Studio, he should become a musician.
One could even say it's calling. He just can't stop (He's sorry)
Since 2012
@@Russiansism I think he can feel a new day dawning, but he burns up and burns out. He shouldn't do this to himself 😥
Yeah he should definitely drop a song titled musician too, that would be great
@@Russiansism AHAHA
ludwig being a choir kid makes so much sense
i love how when lud does something musically questionable porter doesn't intervene and stop him he just lets mess around and figure out what sounds good or bad
The vocal chops coming together was so hype.
Only makes me love Porter that much more. His music is so pure and amazing and just shows how cool of a person he is
Favorite streamer and favorite producer
Lud bringing in the croissant sample was a piece of musical genius
My biggest issue with making music is that the software is SO powerful and robust that it's sorta overwhelming. I feel like having someone walk you through at least the basics to get you off the ground is INVALUABLE.
All you need is a computer.
Not all software is like that, not everyone should start on FL or any of those other mainstream daws, it’ll just make you quit sooner.
@@tweakin1531yeah ngl I got FL a year ago and I got so overwhelmed every time I opened it cuz I had no idea where to start. I wish I was friends with one of the biggest electronic artists to help me start ahha. But this is helping me a lot and giving me inspo to get back into it especially now that I’ve become more interested in DJing
@@tweakin1531 a lot of people don't realize that GarageBand is actually a 100% workable daw for a lot of stuff
Their vibes just match and this is so fun to watch.
As a producer, I think hearing "what's a delay" had to be the funniest shit ever.
There’s legitimately so much to take away from this. And so many good laughs....Thanks for uploading this bro👊
I got into music production pretty heavily; with Porter Robinson being an inspiration. FL Studio was actually recommended to me by one of my closer friends whom I used to be in a band with. This video is just icing on the cake man. Porter Robinson breaking down FL barney-style is not something I knew I needed in my life.
This was a glorious stream, the whole thing, the games after and the music making.
Lud was on a roll after figuring out he's slightly inclined to make music
This is actually so helpful to those just starting out, how i wished i had porter coaching me when i started haha
fun fact: fl studio does infact have an "export directly to soundcloud" feature.
Yeah i used to use that, but now im getting problems with singing in, bcus my antivirus doesnt like me singing into a browser thats not google.
@@karhu07so set your default browser as chrome? 😅
Porter losing it at Distructor presets while Ludwig just scrolls through with no care is the funniest thing
Distructor is fucking awesome tho, can't blame Porter
Producer vision, he sees the possibilities lud might not have seen 😂😂
some of those presets genuinly had big potential and porter recognised that immediately.
Love how Porter hypes Ludwig so much up, pretty wholesome .
i loved watching someone who actually knows music teach instead of moxy or whatever telling xqc the dumbest shit
FRRRR I HATE THAT GUY HE BARLEY KNOW SHI
so true. instead of going through the very basics of rhythm, melody and harmony they just told him he needed better sample packs and plugins.
MOXY???
theres no way you know what theyre telling him if u think moxy is helping
lmaooo
Ludwig saying "I hear what they're doing to us" in reference to the hi-hats having swing is hilarious
Yes yes yes porter should do this more often.
Barely Alive sample pack
11/10 immediately
it's really interesting how porter commented on literacy from one program translating to others bc im watching this with 0 experience in fl studio and im like "omg i do the same thing but for video in after effects" it's so cool
This was very educational, I really like Porter Robinson as a person, dudes pretty chill from the looks of it
porter articulates himself how I imagine myself sounding to other people, but in reality im just a dumbass.
I feel that
this is the most relatable music production video down to the "cats piss on everything but the litterbox" banter.
only 13 mins in and am having a blast watching this, always wanted to learn fl studio but it was way too overwhelming. porter robinson is not only omega homie and funny but a chill ass teacher and im learning a lot LMFAO. def booting up fl studio sometime soon :)
This is amazing
Ive been using fl for over 6 years now and im still learning a shit ton from this. crazy
@@beep_ ive been using for 10 and still learning things in here x_x
@@beep_ Oh man! What I would give to see SeamlessR teaching ludwig how to make massive basses with Harmor and Sytrus.
Me spending 2 hours on slicex and still not getting anything above garbage
Ludwig: places things randomly and getting a full j cole type beat sample
I've rewatched this video multiple times because it's so entertaining! We should all have our own Porter Robinson when we're proding.
Bro he’s got Barely Alive samples. We love Barely Alive
Matt and Willie are fucking amazing producers
This basically just porter having to write music by only talking to lud 😂😂
1:20:55 lmaoooo, this reaction after Ludwig told them to pog out their minds when he got back is lowkey hilarious
Thank you, this honestly is super informative and helpful to someone that only kinda knows how to produce. So glad porter did this stream
I don't even use FL but I would watch a whole series of this
I'm an Ableton stan I'm only here to watch someone being taught by an actual musician
@@小琰-j2l "abelton stan" 💀 fl gang all day
@@de3p601 nah, ableton gang rise up
@@de3p601 hell yeah fl gang
@@de3p601 I mean we both got problems. FL got the world's best and worst built in plugin suite, Ableton looks like Excel. But at least we aren't using Cubase
omg this brings me back to when I started FL a few years ago. I can see how daunting it may be learning from scratch. I loved this
ludwig pulling up the choir had me laughing crying
as a music producer for a first song this is insane, also awesome vocal chop, ngl ludwig should make music or try too.
Hopefully Ludwig does more music streams with this guy. Easily some of the best content Ludwig has done
You should check Porter's music he's pr much done everything. Very good musician
“This guy” lol
"this guy"💀
why is porter so good at the record stop sound
45:22 for those wondering 👍
Edit: 1:24:12 as well
Edison moment
@@MartinDerTolle god can't believe I understand these niche nerdy references now
honestly, he's good at imitating sounds generally. probably self taught gang trying to explain to each other stuff
Dude I thought it was like a soundboard at first
How sick would it be if Porter did this with subscribers. Would be such a cool way to supprot aspiring artists!
I like the block 90s sounds
HE HAD ME AT THE DWM REFERENCE!! LETS GOOOOOO!! Huge part of my childhood lol
there was never a second sky 2023, poor ludwig LOL
Little does Ludwig know, at 40:50 he was literally making a kanye sample and it's fire.
This video is super helpful and also entertaining for beginner producers like myself. Would love is somebody had timestamps to it so I can find what was done where for easier access.
If anyone plans on becoming a music producer i very recommend going for it, once you start it will be very stressful to know what everything is but as soon as you watch enough youtube tutorials and research more into it and make your first track it will leave you with soo much hype and it becomes a nonstoppable addiction that leaves you with no words, its the best theropy you can get, i first started producing back in 2015 when i found out about martin garrix and from there on music producing has been my favorite career path of my life, 20 years old now and just got signed to a small label and i cant describe the feeling on how amazing it is to be a producer, the community is amazing with a wide variety of producers that are very talented and creative, and if anyone tries to low talk you and try to take away your spirit and love for music dont listen to them, use that negativity to push harder and show them how worthy and talented you are, so all you guys get out there and get creative🔥
I love how every streamer is a producer now! So good content
The solo/Carl Weezer is absolutely killing/destroying me😂😂😂 OMG…. that sound is just triggering stuff in all the weird and fun places… Loved this! You guys are too funny btw…
Bro ludwig having barley alive samples is gold 😂
my life will be complete if he does a breakdown of ghost voices
I want to see Ludwig breakdown ghost voices
Get some really good headphones or speakers
Or Angel Voices!
There are stem recreations of it on youtube. Just search Ghost Voices FLP or FL remake. I've actually made one myself using free plugins and it sounds really good actually.
thats kinda wholesome to watch. im having fun
Ludwig learned in 2hrs what took me a month at least
I'm pretty certain that Ableton Live removed the feature to publish to soundcloud in version 11, and i could never get it to work before that, either 😔 The best feature... gone.
wait that choir sample is hard af omg????
He’s such a good teacher
Porter believing in the RUclips to MP3 converter is so validating to me
Man I wish I had Porter Robinson to teach me FL when I started using FL 5 back in the day
This is digital gold the knowledge from this is just 👌🏼
45:00 lowkey goes crazy
What I would’ve given to be taught production by Porter instead of Cymatics and RUclips. Lucky guy.
What a great energy porter brought to this, I feel quite honestly excited to create some art
What a cool stream with some great nuggets of knowledge
Learned about basslines today
Really awesome to see Porter Robinson teaching, big fan here
awesome to see your channel grow like that !
Keep it up
@@musicalstreams factos
this may the single greatest motivator for me to get FL studio ever
Edit: okay I got the $99 one wish me luck
Hope u do it's fun
You should just try all the DAWs they all got different workflows
Do it!
@@illford yeah if you've got infinite money
Get back in and keep at it!
Damn lud, I've been learning fl for years. You, sir, are a natural!
In less than 3 minutes Porter gave the best advice for getting a bad mix. Raise the bass, cut the treble, and then add reverb.
yet you have 12 subscribers with dogshit beats and porters just released everything goes on. His advice is fine, everything in moderation
fr xdddd
The reverb always be gettin me 💀
Came to a terrible realization how much of an uncanny resemblance Porter Robinson has to XQC
I saw Porter at EDC and I was hallucinating looking at him on the video on the side of the stage and his head looked like a pigmask from gta and turned into an animatronic snake. And now im here. wowowow
me after being on my fifth year produding in FL becoming a successful producer and learning something new 10 minutes in
porter robinson is so lit
porter is so chill
Porter is such an amazing guide ⚡
this is xQc if he was Challenger ranked in FL Studio...
I want to see him teach xQc so bad
Love this. Learned a lot and had fun. Would love to watch them collab again
I'd love Porter as a teacher this is entertaining. :)
I can get an idea, full channel rack layout, but my composition is crap.
My advice is to literally sing into the mix. And then use a spectrum to th and find the notes. You dint need to be perfectly in key just close enough. You can probably sing the melody close enough to on
this is so wholesome
Porter is the best hype man.
17:00 "No, now I sound like an XQC stream" Lmfao
ive been producing for a while and i learned something here, very cool
1:57:40 - final result
this is the best video on the internet
this is so wholesome omg
🤣🤣🤣🤣 His cat said "Fuck ur couch"
bruh what i would do for a lesson by porter.
This song goes hard. Porter gotta play at his live show some day
I like that he has barely alive sample pack
