Ooh, I see Aether Singularity is attempting to make an in-between version of Parasite Eve 1 and 2. I'd prefer a straight up 2, personally, but this is pretty cool either way. Will be curious about the release version.
I could've sworn that Angeline Era showed up in a previous Demo Disc or try-out (maybe under a different name)? It gives me a really strong feeling of deja-vu.
500 Caliber Contractz - Very intriguing Cruelty-Squad-core game. Seems pretty tailored to the speedrunning crowd, I bet. Looks neat, but probably not for me. Aether Singularity - I immediately wishlisted this game. Like, I was immediately sold on the premise being SMT + Parasite Eve. And the game itself looked really fun too! Angeline Era - Oh, you love to see modern games with the Bump System. I think it's really neat, if sometimes very obtuse in its puzzlesolving. ...I feel like the Light Side games in this demo might have a better track record already...
If anything, I'd argue the vibe 500CC is shooting (hah) for is, almost *precisely*, the same era of Newgrounds flash games and animations that Madness Combat spawned outta, albeit stretched into a 3D Unity game. Hell, the lil' credits-like intro is CLASSIC amateur Shockwave Media Flash stuff! Kudos to the dev for nailing that if it was what they were going for, feels kinda nostalgic.
In the first game there's a button you can use to dive and build your momentum on the ground, same button can be used in the air to kick which really helps with platforming.
I still don't understand why these games always try for the 90s look with low polygon count and pixely textures, and then immediately ruin it by also having modern shading and bump mapping. It would take *less* work to just leave that out, and it would actually look more like a PlayStation game.
Someone needs to teach _500 Caliber Contractz's_ devs about the concept of a vertical slice. Unless the game really is just endless not-great platforming. Why are demonic incursions called "defrags?" The devs know what defragmentation is, right? Wouldn't you call it, I donno, an intrusion? Or a penetration, if you're feeling risqué? Also, not sure if it's deliberate that Silvia has a dude body...? Also also the FBI needs to spring for some magic ponchos for DATA agents. Maybe they need to look around and collect some more Agent Honor to supplement their salary.
I am in love with the visual presentation of Aether Singularity
im always put a bit on edge with stories about secret police that exist to judge jury execute 'subversive' elements of society
I enjoyed 500 Caliber Contractz shameless edge, and self-defeated angst. Good texture work, too. And a really nice track for the demo.
Wow, that really is just Pagumon as that first partner daemon.
17:55 or some kind of digimon tamers, even

i vaguely remember the first game in the fever dream that was the 90's seems so familiar
I'm kind of liking Aether Singularity, it has exactly the same spell wireframes and combat as Parasite Eve 2 in Parasite Eve 1 style arenas.
