It's great that you got to keep the materials, so many uses; much better than letting it go to waste and get ripped out again. Donating it is a really good idea. And whatever they don't take you can always use. I've reused a lot of stuff by doing the is this chunk of wire a few feet longer than I need it perfect, I'm just now finally getting to the bottom of my stack.
@@JayTheSparky just search for M4 dome nuts. I bought a bag of 100 for the same reason. Can't believe I never thought of the tape on the back trick, the number of times those f***ing bolts have fallen out on me. I also have a bag of 20mm M4 hex bolts for the same reason :D

I will need to support some of the younger channels like doctor electric. There is so much space for everyone to contribute.
Glad your remembered my suggestion about the donating to a college, i forgot they where all probably closed though, such a huge waste of materials and time for all the other trades as well as the ones who where going to move into the units. Paul
I used to use a lot of sealant - until a few decades when by and I had to start upgrading some of my work. Some sealants can be a bitch to remove years later. I'm much more stingy these days. On this light I would have only put some inside the light to seal the cable entry.

just call some local sparks near you tell them your in college hell they may even put you to work for a cple of hrs and you keep what ever you want from the demos as payment it happened to me when i started back 20 yrs ago (im in the usa but i imagine the same wld happen across the pond )lol

Both groups have slightly embraced some of the newer technologies for business uses. I live next to Pennsylvania, and there has been a recent influx of migration into West Virginia. And at one point they excepted having a community phone and to some extent businesses having phones, now that everybody has cell phones I'm sure that has trickle down so they might have a community cell phone /business cell phone.

@@Cablesmith yes mid northwest also and i have a small settlement in my little state of nh. most can use batteries or generators as long as the fuel can be sourced without outside help so wind turbines, natural gas,wood, coal . as long as they can maintain self sufficiency most religious leaders are ok with it. (not sure but it wldnt surprise me if the settlements in my state used hydro power )

It seems like every year or two some bastard in a car or truck will run one of their buggies off the road causing injury or death. It's a damn shame people can't drive more carefully when they know horse drawn buggies may be about.
