Brilliant tool, been using the Cat phone with thermal imaging sensor for years.. course where the installer ran short of the underfloor heating pipe and missed areas on the install ! The thermal image is overlayed over the camera image. Also traces pipes in cavity walls.
Nice bit of pocket kit that, wish I had one for a recent EICR! SparkyNinja has a great video on using thermal imaging and I highly recommend watching it to avoid some gotchas with reflective surfaces, scale and the like.
@@Cablesmith you can do a self calibration using a tin can with a strip of thick black tape on it. Fill the can with boiling water and use a decent quality thermometer to dip into the water. Focus the IR camera on the strip of tape, observing the correct distance and emisivity settings. Then compare the apparent temperature of the camera to that of the thermometer. Finally, I am not sure how I’ve missed the videos on this channel but your content is superb. Please keep the down to earth style going.
Brilliant bit of kit, something that is better to have and not need, rather than need and not have.
Thanks for showing us.
Too true! Thanks for watching mate
Good to see you back Sean

Good content mate and good to see you back..
Thank you 😊
You can read codes on keypad sometimes if viewed immediately after use !
Wow 🤣 it actually doesn’t surprise me because as I said, footprints stay visible for a good 5 mins! It’s insane
Where do you send the camera for its calibration?
I haven’t sent it anywhere yet, but there’s a few places local to me
