Create Seamless Background Patterns with Adobe Illustrator CC

- In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to create seamless background patterns with Adobe Illustrator CC. The result will be a single square tile that can be repeated infinitely. This works great for use as a background on a website where a different number of tiles are used in order to render the backgrounds for various different screen resolutions.

I totally adore the way you explain every move. Very educating, thank you.
my brain slowly, steadily melted and began to drip out of my right ear, staining my favorite shirt
Someone who speaks English!!!! You already make sense and are easy to listen to and understand. I've watched hundreds of videos and I am sticking with you. Keep it up!!!!!!
fast, detailed, well explained. Great tutorial my guy.
This is super awesome.. the way U explain things, it's just crystal clear... I love it man
Amazing art and great, objective explanation.
At the beginning, it was kinda weird to see you create circles or semi-circles, select and keep deleting almost all that you had created, but at the end we can see why.
Props, dude! 😉👏
Very nice, for a beginner here I now have a good grasp of how to maneuver illustrator with efficiency.
I'm new to this got it done in no time thanks to you. Really appreciate your content. 👌🏽👌🏽👍🏽
Really good tutorial dude! First Video i see from you, but instant sub!

Many thanks - great tutorial!
you are a born teacher...thanks so much for the help!
This is a great tutorial. I had about a pixel off on some of the edges which was avoided by using the Transform > Reflect to get the desired direction. I don't know if this was due to the size I made my graphic but in case you run into that issue as well this worked to fix it.
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the password. I love any assistance you can give me!

Great tutorial! to the point !
Great tutorial / practice exercise for beginners. Thanks! 🙏🏻 😎
Thanks for the tutorial. But i think the shortcut from 8:30 was to drag the shape to swatches, then draw a rectangle and fill it with the pattern from swatches. Then Object-expand. Then right click to release clipping mask if necessary.
Super helpful Thank you!!
Simply cool.
Really nice and helpful... Thanks!
You go soooo fast! As a beginner i had to pause this evry 3-4 sec to catch up. Thanks, I will keep doing this until I understand it.
Amazing!!
New subscriber, excellent tutorial.
Just Amazing
nice design, great explanations... I do exactly what you did but using a square rather than a circle and it was dope 🔥 thanks a lot 👏🙏
I couldn't stop saying how amazing that was.. And It kept getting more amazing as the video went on! Brilliant video thanks a lot. Learned a lot about illustrator that makes things easier for me now also : D and of course how to make a repeat pattern :) Like, shared and subscribed!
Yes I feel that Wonder
Awesome!!!!
You are a legend ! thanks! I'm hoping to use this is creating colouring pattern within shapes for children :-)
Cool!
Wow, brilliant
muito bom.. parabéns.
Thank you! : )
really cool design and detailed tutorial
although I feel you could have saved a lot of time by
a) keep pasting in place without copying
and b) using the rotate and reflect tools (or just snapping graphics directly while you’re making copies)
This is soooooooooooooooooooooo Dope !
It's amazing video...
Your photo inspired me to design a photo for colored ambrellas covering each other and the camera from above.
totally loved it well explained, would have loved to see how to add color to it :(
thanks so easy to learn from your videos
thanks lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 😍💖💥
thanku for tutorial
good job .... i like it
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks!
Awesome
Excellent tutorial, thanks for including all the keyboard shortcuts, they really help to speed things up. One of the shortcuts doesn't seem to work well though (holding the control key down continuously to reveal and drag anchor points). I have to release the control key or else it only moves the single anchor point that I've clicked on, perhaps Adobe made changes in the current version of Illustrator?
Awesome, I was looking for this kind of a pattern, thanks.
Are you freelancing?
@@beautyoflife1573 yes
I'm beginner🙂
Really!, I don't believe it.
But why?? I'm taking courses of freelancing and doing Practice
I want to make Lo-Fi soft and today i started to soft soft tutorials. I see that you are teacNice tutorialng us very carefully and simple, i like that
really usefulllll
Thank you!!!!!
thank u bro
4:37 I cant intersect using pathfinder, i end up with a quarter of the circle(the intersection) but it has fill black and no stripes
Hey, just to let you know, in illustrator you can give simple math equations for sizes. So when you have a 300 sized circle, and want to add 400 you can just write 300+400 and it'll make it 700. You should mention it in a tutorial because it can be really helpful.
EDIT: Don't forget, you can also multiply: 400*3 -> 1200 and divide 300/6 -> 50
Thanks for the input
@@DesignMadeSimple My pleasure
Nice!
Love this idea as I'm learning to create patterns for fabric. I do have a question though what if I wanted to change the color on one of the designs or circles to give it a different look? How would I do that because you changed the red to black and I want to maybe keep that color or some other color.
Thanks for your content, it's great. However, repeating your steps for this specific pattern is quite easy. It doesn't teach us how to create seamless patternS, in general, though.
Thank you
Thanks a lot
VERY NICE..
love u bro
Спасибо за урок!
Great tutorial! Was able to keep along the entire way.
Anyone know how to change the color of the white lines inside of the black strokes?
there are no white lines, it is a background, you can make a square underlayer (or create a square and send it to back) and fill in the color you want
thank u
I have a question: what if you’ve made it and saved it as a pattern but you want to change the color for another project?
Thanks bro
When I first got soft soft it was Japanese to (I don’t know Japanese) but I got the hang of it and now I’m working on an e.p so thx
In your videos can you explain for us beginners why you choose what you do, i.e., outline stroke, compound path, make, etc.
