Exactly said to me like that. They took each one of our driver licenses and kept us sitting on that remote road for almost 45 minutes! I was driving a 61 Ford falcon that was in Grey primer. Obviously, they had the wrong car but they were diligent law enforcement personnel. Fast forward to today and the videos of these Venezuelan gang members going through these apartments and it makes me wonder what has happened to the law enforcement? I lived in Aurora for 2 years from 2018 to 2020. I had a crack head as an upstairs neighbor who used to knock on my window and door all the time. He wasn't an immigrant, but he WAS a crack head.
I live near Denver - although some parts of Aurora are better, many parts (especially along Colfax) are scary! There are only boarded up buildings, closed stores and places like bail bonds offices, check advance businesses, and medical clinics for miles. Everything has iron bars on the windows and doors. I took my daughter to Children’s Hospital in Aurora and was planning on taking her to lunch nearby as a treat. But I kept driving and driving because it looked so scary - all I could think of was no way! I can’t take her here! We ended up going to a McDonalds off the freeway up north, where it felt safe. So sad. I used to live and spend time around there, and it has changed so much for the worse. 😢

Aurora is large so it depends on the zip codes you're discussing. I worked for 20 years throughout all the zip codes in Aurora and can say, categorically, codes 80010 - 15 and 17 are not good, and its only gone downhill.
