Greetings from Birmingham England. 🇬🇧 That gave me a different view of Brockville. Seen the road crossing occasionally, but never seen from the overbridge, interesting. Subbed so i might see some more of this route. 👍👍👍🇬🇧
I was on a train in 1973 going to Brockville & a truck drove right into train @ Moodie Dr. Luckily it hit behind the front wheels of locomotive or we would have been derailed. Anyway we were delayed 1 yr @ crossing & missed my connection @ Brockville for train to Toronto, so they made the non-stop Rapido stop for us (I got a seat in club car!). About a year later I got a call from CN claims dept here in Vancouver & said I had to get on a Air Canada flight to Ottawa to be in court. The estate of killed truck diver was trying to sue railroad for negligence & I was a key witness for CN. It's only time I've flown Air Canada (DC-8) & didn't have to pay. Been across Canada on The Canadian about 25x both ways since 1964. I miss the old Union Station in Ottawa(next to Chateau Lauier). Great video BTW. I lived in Almonte 1957-62.
That’s up to The Canadian Governments - City, Provincial & Federal have been saying the same thing for decades. There’s no funding for VIA Rail infrastructure in Canada.
Nasaneiru-I fully agree...they were ideal for short-haul intercity trips. In western Canada Greyhound Bus has cancelled its service and CP Rail has eliminated passenger service from Winnipeg to Calgary. Rail transportation on Vancouver Island has disappeared.
Amtrak never had any original Budd cars. They were inherited from a large number of private RRs and had many differences--brakes, A/C systems, PA systems, etc.
Changing the title is misleading and provides a negative perception of VIA in an already difficult time. Such tactics are appalling and any railhead should take exception to these tactics. We need to support the rail industry
I see these trains going pass Billings bridge in Ottawa all the time...they need to serious redo those faded Canadian flags on some of those cars...looks disgusting and like it is a failing company that can't even afford some new vinyl flags to stick on the side of their cars. Cool video though!
Many of the coaches have been repainted recently. The Flag is smaller and less visible. The coaches with the bigger faded Canadian flag will probably be painted the next time the coach is in for overhaul.

Canadians, by and large, don't travel by train because train travel is too slow. VIA doesn't own the tracks it uses. And in most parts of this "great country" of ours, population density doesn't support economically efficient railways. Southwestern Ontario and Southwestern Quebec are the most densely populated areas of the country, which makes rail journeys economic. Elsewhere, trains are, as they say, "a "loss leader". Get out of your log cabins, guys, and head for the urban centres. (And while you're at it, can we please electrify suburban rail lines? Please? Electric trains are much faster, not to mention less polluting, than their diesel-powered equivalents. We are light-years behind the times in this benighted land of ours.)

Had to laugh at Brockville. The sign said no train horn, but the train blew its horn anyway.
mittelfruh I wondered if the horn restriction was for nighttime.
The trains can't sound their horns at the crossings in Brockville between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am.
mittelfruh THAT'S THE LAW
5:06-5:07?
Had 2 green 1 blue (or maybe 2 blue 1 green) had a long time staying in Canada?WELL MOVE THE ROUTE TO NY
Thanks for this!
Great train catches
Yes, those Canadian trains really fly.... talking about flies-- Man, there seemed to be a ton of them while you were shooting!!!

1:00 K5LA sounded the best, doppler sounded nice too.
It's time to upgrade the Via to the high-speed rail standard.

That’s up to The Canadian Governments - City, Provincial & Federal have been saying the same thing for decades. There’s no funding for VIA Rail infrastructure in Canada.

For Eastern European conditions trust me, it's already on high speed standard lol

Idk

@@luisp5036 Yeah I wonder why
Between Brockville and Ottawa the tracks are owned by VIA RAIL...CN starts at Brockville..
I wish Amtrak kept their original Budd cars...

You never see the at Smiths Falls!! ancient and slow
Anyone have any idea what horn type is used at 3:55?
that would be a Hybrid K5LA
What is the top speed for Via Rail trains?
90mph, I believe
Is the Synagri spur in twin elm still used.
Yes, Seasonal use. Springtime you’ll see hoppers at the elevator.
@@FlyingYankee What about the Kott Lumber spur off Moodie and the Mc Asphalt industries spur off hunt club.
Brockville and Smiths Falls subs are own by Via Rail....not CN...
Please, can someone explin to me? I do not understand ? What train is that?
Just a via rail train nothing more

2:24 it’s ofc romantic flallowfield cause u see people kissing but imagine the driver reacts to that...

Why Does Everything Sound So Intense?

VIA P42's Makes Me Think Of Amtrak P42's

Yes, that Fallowfield station. Scary though. thanks
Cn doesn't own the track anymore.
I hate no horn zones
I say it looks similar to amtrack
+Alexis Diaz Amtrak has wonderful routes in the USA ! Let’s hope Donald Trump and his team don’t destroy Amtrak’s potential.

Tf are you talking to?
Cheap wave to get viewers. COVID-19 is nothing to make fun of. Please change your title or I will report you to RUclips.
@NQS7 I agree, title is fine. :-) They seem pretty fast to me.
Nah airplanes are better to be honest
If you from the States then I kind of get your point as you don't really have any decent rail line
